PGA Tour 2K25 is playable on PS5 right now, weeks ahead of its scheduled 28th February release date.
The “surprise” First Look demo can be downloaded for free, and allows you to get a head start on the golf sim, with progress transitioning to the full release should you decide to purchase it.
As per the press release, the demo includes the following modes:
- MyPLAYER Customisation
- Players can create up to three MyPLAYER builds to discover the perfect combination to fit their desired playstyle and progress their MyPLAYERs from 65 to 70 OVR. Customisation elements include physical appearance, hair and body type, archetype, performance stats, and select gear and apparel.
- Local Match
- The back nine at TPC Scottsdale and WM Phoenix Open are available to test MyPLAYER skills.
- Training
- This area and lessons are fully accessible, providing the same experience featured in the full game.
- Quests
- Featured for player onboarding and skill development.
So, there’s actually quite a little bit to sink your teeth into with this demo. Obviously, you’re limited to a 70 OVR, but that’s still going to give you a leg up once the full game releases.
Have you downloaded the demo yet? What are your thoughts so far? Putt your opinion in the comments section below.

Came for the Spandau Ballet lyrics.
I played it last night and it’s not bad at all. Made a truly horrible looking golfer too. Bit of a shame you only get the back 9 of Scottsdale, meant it was a one and done rather than at least having the 18 to play.
Preordered my copy of this one, last week.
Have not played the demo just yet. I might give it a go,
Tried the demo and really enjoyed it. I'll be playing later in the month.
Tried the demo and wasnt blown away. Not as good as EA's first next gen outing imo (graphically, commentary, general feel) which i managed to get the plat for or maybe its just because im unsed to that game.
By far the MOST played game for both of the last two years, I'm hopelessly addicted to 2K23, and I'd imagine this will be the same!
Tried it just now. It wasn't bad. I actually want to play it again. I had to make a 2k account just to play it. That probably shows you where 2k games have been on my radar over the years lol.
“Obviously, you’re limited to a 70 OVR”
I mean obviously, but what’s OVR?
Looks promising but this whole palaver of creating accounts with 2k and the incredibly cumbersome front end spoils it. Everybody's Golf is ultimately so much more fun.
@Kidfunkadelic83 Thanks, this is useful. I enjoyed the Golf Club and 2k iterations when they were the only show in town but they ended up not evolving enough for me and I really enjoyed the higher production values and visuals on the EA game. This looks like a step up though. Good of them to demo it and I'll def give it a go.
For me, I would like to try it. But, there is something gummed up about the demo. It stays at 1% and will not advance. I have never seen this in any other game on the PS5. Guess I am just going to miss out.
I've just purchased EA PGA Tour for £6.99.. but I'll be tempted by this when it's on sale at some point.
