Ubisoft has released the first Assassin's Creed Shadows post-launch update today, 25th March 2025, and it is available to download now on PS5. You're looking at a 1.41GB download on PS5, which is considerably smaller than the patch for other consoles and PC.
The patch works to improve stabilization across the board on all platforms, fixing "global issues" according to the patch notes. On the PS5 specifically, a glitch has been fixed where a crash could occur when pulling in Photo Mode images on the world map.
It's a very minor update in the grand scheme of things, but nevertheless, you can view all the PS5 patch notes below:
Assassin's Creed Shadows PS5 Update 1.0.1 Patch Notes
Bug fixes & Improvements
- Stabilization - Fixed some global issues
- [PS5] Fixed a Photo mode issue that could cause a crash when fetching photos to display on the world map.
- [PC] Fixed a Photo mode issue that could cause a crash when taking a photo.
Once you've got the patch downloaded, you can get back to tracking down all the Legendary Armor Sets and upgrading your build with Legendary Trinkets. Refer to our Assassin's Creed Shadows guide for more help and information.

Dam got a bit excited about the Pro Patch then for PSSR.
@OldGamer999 I have a suspicion it will be a month or two before we see that patch come through.
@wildcat_kickz Yeah, probably right before next expansion dlc drops. And that is slated for summer '25 last I heard.
@OldGamer999 yeah that's one thing I feel this game really needs - some improvement in the upscaling. The image is very low resolution in places, even to the point I'm going to play it on PC/Geforce Now where I can use DLSS.
That's coming from a Pro owner, so heck knows what it is like on the base model, although I guess that's the same resolution as Pro, and the Pro is using it's power for the RT.
I've been no-lifing this these last few days (about 25 hours in) and I have to say, I'd be a lot more inclined to buy games at launch if they launched with this much polish.
@MrPeanutbutterz I did the same I’ve clocked 25hrs. Was hoping they patched the homestead’s rough framerate 😩 why?!?!
@SystemAddict I believe the hideout frame rate is being fixed as part of the game's first major update. I'm sure I read somewhere that it's actually a bug!
@Cornpop76
I think the base resolution is a bit low.
I always say get the base resolution high and a small amount of upscaling is better for PQ.
@SystemAddict According to Digital Foundry's tech review, the homestead swaps into quality mode to employ the ray traced global illumination as seen in that mode.
Really have to question the logic though - if I'm tickety boo with the hit to the lighting and IQ in general for 99% of my time playing the game, why force it on me for that one particular section?
@MrPeanutbutterz it’s such a weird compromise you’d think they’d know better. Too much of an immersion breaking thing hopefully it gets dialled back nobody needs to see that 🫣
@MrPeanutbutterz my assumption is that it is CPU related.
The GPU load not being a limiting factor when you enable the design mode.
That said, I don't know why there isn't an unlock frame rate option with a warning.
I remember Tomb Raider 2013 Definitive Edition on PS4 running unlocked between 30 and 60 like that.
It was unpleasant to my eye, but hey if people want it....
I am glad for all the 5 people playing the game.
@betasector edgy geezer. Why not just scroll & leave & not leave your lame comments you silly little child.🙄😂
Ngl, the denial some people are in is a bit amusing. Why do you even care...
I refuse to play this game unless they put a main Latvian protagonist in this game. It doesn't matter that Latvia didn't exist at that time. The main hero should talk to the Japanese population Latvian language only and highlight that if they don't understand him, they should learn Latvian language. Also he would actively promoting sending all the swords, bows and arrows to Ukraine ( it doesn't matter that it didn't exist that time as well). Oh, yeah, I am Latvian citizen IRL - the global national minority.
