EA and Codemasters have announced EA Sports F1 25, this year's iteration of the annual motorsport sim.
It seems this will be an important one, as it's the first F1 game to drop PS4, releasing only on current-gen hardware like PS5. It'll also be PS5 Pro Enhanced, though there are no details on this yet.
As for what's new in this year's racing sim, the fan favourite story mode, Braking Point, makes its grand return with a third chapter.
On top of that, the press release says My Team mode has had a "significant overhaul"; players will take on the role of a team owner, and a new Owner Perks system will allow you to hone in on your favourite aspects of management. You'll of course be able to step into the racing suit of one of your two drivers and engage in the races themselves.

LIDAR technology improves the authenticity of the circuits even further, and Lewis Hamilton — in his 2025 season Ferrari getup — stars on the cover of the game's Iconic Edition.
More information about the game will be released in a Deep Dive series, revealing more about gameplay changes and new features.
EA Sports F1 25 comes to PS5 on 30th May. Are you excited for this year's F1 game? Hit the pits in the comments section below.

Im am a big Ferrari fan and happy that Lewis joined the manufaturer this year. F1 24 was a pleasure on PS5 Pro graphically and technically. One of the best Implementations of PSSR with RT and uncapped framerate. I hope its the same or even better if possible with 25.
I know it’s too much to hope for but PSVR2 compatibility would be amazing. I know it’ll never happen.
@Arkham24601 I'd buy a PSVR2 in a heartbeat if they added the feature. Sony just need to give them some change to implement what's already possible on the PC version. Utterly stupid decision that's it's not.
PSVR2 or no buy
I'd play it on psvr2, shame I'd have to buy it on pc to do it.
F1 23 on steam with psvr2 is bonkersly good.
Why it's done elsewhere and not PS5 is just silly.
FINALLY PS5 can begin to flourish!!
Sony can now believe in generations
@Luigia with EA sports titles? Game play wise they are superb. Visually? They are lazy. Road to the masters is nothing the ps4 couldn't handle. EA wrc rally is a brilliant rally game but visually? It's a lot worse than dirt 2.0. The switch to unreal was a massive mistake. I can't speak as to how the f1 games are because I haven't played any since the first f1 game codemasters released back in the ps3/360 generations. EA may be ditching last gen console iterations but they are not really pushing the latest consoles at all.
Glad to see Braking Point come back. I have no interest in playing these games for 100 hours, but a nice 8-10 hour story mode when the game hits PS+ or Gamepass is perfect for me.
@Northern_munkey My understanding is that the F1 games are very good on console. The PS5 Pro version of 24 was one of the stand out titles in implementation.
It may say EA Sports, but this is still Codemasters and their F1 games are still well regarded.
@Lowdefal thanks for the info..I might get round to giving one a go at some point.
Happy to buy on ps5 pro over pc on this one as you know it’ll be identical technically and have an insanely good pssr
@Northern_munkey Yep, the PS4 Pro could chuck circa-4K visuals round at 60fps for F1 2021-2024 so I don't think this will be pushing the PS5 to its limits. EA have just made a commercial vs dev time decision. Either that or they need the extra processing power to handle all of Hamilton's bling?
@sanderson72 ego and bling..the ray tracing will certainly be pushed from that glimmer..
