Sandfall Interactive has revealed its promising PS5 title Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has now gone gold, meaning work on the 1.0 version of the RPG is now complete. The developer shared the news on Twitter, where it said it is "incredibly grateful for all the support, and we can’t wait for you to experience the world we’ve created".
The turn-based RPG comes to PS5 on 24th April 2025 and represents one of the year's most promising games — from a new IP standpoint especially. First confirmed in June 2024, it's continued to impress in trailers and gameplay ever since.
We recently played a three-hour demo of the RPG, concluding: "Regardless of whether you’re a big JRPG fan or not, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a game you should be looking out for. Its impeccable art design and high-concept premise make it incredibly easy to be drawn into its world. Great character drama and a growing depth to character builds and combat will invest you even further."
We will, of course, have an in-depth PS5 review and accompanying coverage to share nearer the game's release. Is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 one you're looking forward to? Let us know in the comments below.

My most anticipated game of this year. Can't wait to dive in.
It's gunna be sick asf😎
Very intrigued, it’s the only game I’ve been really excited for since last year. I’m still waiting for reviews though, but if it’s a 7 or higher I’ll pick it up ASAP
It has garnered a lot of excitement from everything it has shown. I am really hoping it can meet the high expectations now. Seriously looking forward to it.
I'm not sure if I'll be able to play it day 1, but I have had it pre-ordered for several weeks now.
Just found out that this is coming to Game Pass. Looking forward to it.
This will be a Day One-er for damn sure
Hope it turns out to be as good as it looks. 🤞
Didnt know it was classified as a JRPG as it looks more like RPG to me.
Haven't been this excited for an RPG since Sea of Stars
My only other anticipated release in the year besides MH Wilds.
Can't wait!
While I think the game looks promising and I love the evolution of turn-based combat, the menus in combat are a little over stylized for my liking with the way the camera zips all over the place. If you go in and out of menus trying to decide what you want to do, it seems like it's going to be nauseating whipping back and forth. Hopefully that won't be the case.
Please be optimized well. Unfortunately so tired of games that run like ass. And really want this to do well.
I hardly ever pre-order these days but something about this has made me do exactly that. Hope it turns out ok!
So now I have a hard date to finish Second Story R, Suikoden, and XCXDE. Looking forward to this one. Looking forward to playing as someone over 16 too.
BG3 finally sold me on turn based combat, so I'll keep an eye on this one
Is there going to be a demo I'd love to try it first because this could be my next full price purchase I usually wait a bit but it just looks so good
@kcarnes9051 I seem to recall the developers stating that the camera movements in menus can be turned off if they are too much for you.
This game looks really good from what has been shown so far. Would be great if they did a demo
One of my most anticipated games of this year, everything shown so far looks absolutely fantastic.
My other most anticipated games being Lost Soul Aside, Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered (physical release), Croc Legend of the Gobbo’s Remaster, Snake Eater Remake, Doom the Dark Ages and Hogs of War Lardcore (if it’s out this year)
@Jey887 that would be a nice inclusion if you get tired of the constant camera movement!
