Publisher Atari is continuing to revive its legacy game series with Missile Command Delta, which looks vastly different from the arcadey game of defence you may remember.
Announced for PS5 in the above trailer, Missile Command Delta combines first-person exploration and puzzle-solving with a new, turn-based take on the classic gameplay.
It seems players will spend half their time inside an underground bunker, where you must explore and solve puzzles in order to expand your inventory of defences and open up new rooms of the facility.
Then, you'll use your accumulated arsenal in strategic turn-based battles as you take out incoming threats with well-placed explosions.
On top of all that, there seems to be a narrative mystery tying everything together.
It honestly sounds quite promising, and is possibly one of the most dramatic modern overhauls of an Atari classic the publisher has commissioned so far.
There's no release date yet, aside from that it's "coming soon". The game can be wishlisted on PS Store now.

Big fan of Atari seemingly letting indie studios take reign of their IPs to create brand new games. The Recharged games were alright, I've got them all on Steam but they were more or less just a fresh coat of paint and new controls on a classic game.
This sounds a bit like Yars Rising, which I'm playing through on PC. So far I'm loving it.
If they have the same team working on this one (I don't think it's the same studio names, but I could be wrong), I'm excited.
From the trailer, I'm hoping they make this a PSVR2 title. I don't have my hopes up, especially with no VR hinted in the platform list, but it looks like it should work.
This definitely reminds me of The witness. Those complete reimagining of old games look pretty cool. Just like the PAC man thing coming up (forgot it's name)
