Around three quarters of Monster Hunter Wilds players have pushed through the game's main story campaign on PS5. That's according to Trophy data, which has the silver 'Bringer of Harmony' trinket marked as "common" at 73.1%.
Wilds has been out for just under a month, which makes this a fairly impressive completion rate when compared to a lot of other titles. As has been reported many times in the past, game completion rates tend to be surprisingly low across the board, so Capcom's clearly got something right.
To be clear, this Trophy is awarded for seeing the Low Rank campaign through, which houses the glut of Wilds' storytelling and ends with a credits roll. The adventure then opens up into High Rank questing — which is the main pull for many Monster Hunter players.
Still, even if we look beyond the core campaign, a whopping 55% of players have completed all of the High Rank quests that close out the title's overarching narrative. Again, it's a really positive sign that the game's keeping people hooked.
Have you rolled credits in Monster Hunter Wilds yet? If not, send out an SOS flare in the comments section below.

Aren't there credits in the middle of the story? Is that what they consider completed?
EDIT: I actually read. Better late than never.
a bit of offtopic: people who are playing MHW on base PS5, is the performance still average as on release? if I remember correctly performance mode tended to not achieve locked 60fps and even when it reached, the graphics were not that good? I am thinking of getting the game in a month or less but not sure if Steam or PS5 so any feedback would be appreciated.
Well yeah, the “campaign” is just the tutorial that doesn’t take long to beat at all. Every MH game has been like this. This article should really read “somehow 27% of Wilds players on PS5 have not beaten the tutorial 3 weeks after launch”
Oh, so they finally finished the tutorial?
I mean it's pretty short. I'd be surprised if they hadn't. It was short but entertaining tbh. I've yet to play a MH with an engaging story. But this one has been the closest. I just wanna see the TUs and Expansion already tho
That's because the campaign is absolutely awful and everyone is pushing through it to be able to actually play the game they bought. Unfortunately it isn't optional. Nata may well be the most universally despised character of 2025.
@dardel I am playing on balanced mode and it runs like a charm. I'm actually quite impressed by the performance, it has been clearly optimized to handle all of these very detailed gigantic monsters that run around you.
@PloverNutter the "tutorial" takes hours to complete and no every MH game isn't like this. Every MH game has you do a couple of lines of dialogue and a hunt to move to the next tier. This was an hours long wall that prevented you from playing the game normally.
Low Rank was awful to be honest so i'm not surprised most players got it out of the was as soon as possible. One of the times i wished "skip story" was a thing.
@B0udoir that is good to know, still have to wait for my GPU to arrive so I will have time to decide. thanks for the feedback, mate.
@dardel if you want to play on PC, it seems that performance are not very robust depending on your config. I think Capcom games are definitely made for console as first class citizen.
I borrowed Rise from the library and returned it after getting to the credits. It really did feel like that was the end of the tutorial and the game was just beginning after that, but I had had enough. So if this is anything like that it doesn't surprise me that 3/4 of the people who purchased the game - a well known game in a well known long running franchise - beat the tutorial in a month . I think it took me about 12 hours in Rise and that was the only MG game I've played besides Tri on Wii, and don't think I got very far in that.
Good to know this has a similar short tutorial, I'll pick it up if I see it on the library shelf.
@B0udoir from what I read I thought that the issue with Dragons Dogma 2 was mostly processor, and that MHW had a similar issue. My PC is a Ryzen 9800X3D and a RTX5080 (which will arrive in a week), so I was deciding in between PS5 and steam. will look a bit more into performance, I enjoy more playing these type of games on the couch but if the performance is way better on PC i think I will go Steam with this one.
@JohntheRaptor Universally?
@dardel There isn't performance issue on PS5 to begin with, it's the PC version due to wildly different specs and optimizations.
The minor problems on PS5, like occasional low res textures, don't affect the gameplay at all.
Expectations are the thief of joy
@PloverNutter Even after the low rank story it still feels like the tutorial in HR
@puddinggirl and low-resolution textures are on elements that you are not supposed to focus on. It's like complaining that the performance are bad in Gran Turismo because the landscape contains low-res trees...
Got the platinum!

@N0CYmr0k
I do!
@Overmind I care. Congrats dude. How many hours of gameplay did it take to get it?
@Jey887
Around 90, getting gold crowns is a lot easier this time around. Played with a group of friends and had a week off. Normally I don't have that much time for games but what a ride. Really excited for title updates and the master rank expansion.
@Overmind Ah nice, good to hear. The only trophies i didn't get for World/ Rise were the crowns. Too much of a grind. Looks like I'll get the plat for this one.
The story is just the intro to the game and locks stuff behind it's progression. Sad they did that this go round because lots of people probably quit early dredging through the insufferable campaign
Unfortunately I agree with most people that the "story" is the worst part of the game. When it's done and you reach HR, this is where the game starts and it becomes fun instead of being a chore to follow map markers like an Assassin's Creed game.
@dardel
I'm playing in performance mode on base PS5 and I'd say it's absoulutely fine.
Close enough to a consistent 60fps to feel smooth, and the image quality is acceptable enough to not be distracting.
If the beta had never happened, I think the final release has decent enough perfomance that nobody would have made any fuss about performance on base PS5 when it came out like this. It was only the beta having such terrible perfomance that I think started the whole conversation abouty performance being terrible.
