EDENS ZERO is a popular sci-fi manga written and illustrated by Hiro Mashima, who’s perhaps best known for the Fairy Tail franchise.

Konami announced the series – which was published between 2018 and 2024, and has been compiled into a whopping 33 volumes thus far – would be adapted into a JRPG a while back, and now we have a release date.

Due out on 15th July for Sony’s system, the game will recreate the original storyline – and pepper in new, game exclusive quests, with input from Mashima and publisher Kodansha.

The story centres around Shiki Granbell and friends, and the spacefaring foray will feature eight playable characters, each with their own unique playstyle. A big feature of the game is customisation, so you’ll be able to personalise these avatars using over 700 pieces of gear you unlock across the campaign.

While the standard edition of the game will cost £49.99/$59.99, there’ll be a Deluxe Edition available as well, featuring the now customary 72-hours of “early access”. To be fair, though, that version will cost just £54.99/$69.99, and will come with the following in-game items as well:

Gaming / Cyber Equipment Set
Adds a quest offering equipment designed by Hiro Mashima.
Lacrima Set
Adds a quest offering Lacrima, equipment with mysterious powers.
Starter Item Pack
Adds a quest offering advantageous consumable items and 10,000 glee.
