The upcoming PS5 RPG Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has been hit with yet another delay, this time pushing the game back from the first half of this year to October 2025. This is the closest the title has ever come to a day and date release date after multiple years of delays, suggesting The Chinese Room has some confidence it can hit October.

A new YouTube video update confirmed the fresh release window, where the vice president of World of Darkness, Marco Behrmann, said more content, "narrative depth, character development", and more have been added to the RPG since the developer's last update.

It's now at a point where the game is completely done and the team is focusing on polishing and bug fixing. More can be sourced from the YouTube description attached to the update: "Paradox Interactive and The Chinese Room are committed to delivering this game, and we believe that ensuring great technical quality is more important than sticking to a specific date."

It continues: "The game is currently in a late development stage, and feedback from the community has been taken into account during this time. TCR is working hard on quality assurance to ensure it is stable and free of bugs that could disrupt the player experience." After the project changed hands multiple times, The Chinese Room now finds itself as lead developer, which previously made story-focused titles like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture.

"We want to ensure that the content we share with you is high-quality and showcases exciting game features. With this updated release timeline, we will pause our development diaries so that the team can concentrate on refining the game," it concluded.
