Shadow Labyrinth, a Pac-Man spin-off game in a very different style, has just had its release date announced with a new trailer.
The side-scrolling Metroidvania will arrive on PS5 on 18th July, 2025.
Set in a dark sci-fi world, your character is accompanied by the mysterious Puck, a yellow sphere with a mission of their own.
At certain points in the game you will switch control to Puck in order to traverse environments.
You'll also be able to merge with Puck and turn into a giant mech, which will let you do battle with larger enemies. You can consume baddies, which seems to unlock perks you can use to enhance your character.

It looks like it has some potential, offering a totally original take on Bandai Namco's beloved mascot.

I have to admit, a dark and gritty Pac-Man game was not on my personal bingo card for that Nintendo Direct today. But I’m definitely interested!
Looks fun, I likes me a good metroidvania.
Three levels of pre-order and collectors editions for the first game out of the gate though... ew...
Now that episode of Secret Level makes a lot more sense...
Is this roguelike? Looks a bit like it! I must admit, I’m tempted!
