It appears Assassin's Creed Shadows will demand roughly 107GB of SSD space when the time comes to install the new Ubisoft open worlder on PS5. The game is available for preload on Xbox Series X|S and is taking up the aforementioned amount of space, so it's expected the PS5 version will be similar in size. The PS5 preload for Assassin's Creed Shadows goes live much closer to launch, on 18th March 2025.
Once you've got the title pre-installed, Assassin's Creed Shadows will be available to play at midnight local time on 20th March 2025 worldwide. The graph below shares more details along with PC launch times:

If you're playing on PS5 Pro, then 107GB is no big deal at this point. However, for the base PS5, you'll need to dedicate a significant portion of your overall SSD space to the Japanese-set Assassin's Creed title. Are you happy to do so? Let us know in the comments below.

I am indeed happy to do so. I fully expected around 100 for it so I'm not surprised.
Yes. & this is why the whole physical vs digital debate is irrelevant now.

In the words of Dr Evil. “HOW ABOUT NOOOOO!
It was expected giving Valhalla's beefy size.
@heavyartillery56 You hope for layoffs and studios being closed? What a nice person you are 🙄
@DennisReynolds The layoffs are a natural part of making bad products. Don't shoot the messenger.
@Hapless As far as I'm concerned if a studio is doing poorly they can't get worse. I already don't care about their games.
That last delay killed my excitement for this completely.
I hope this game does really well, Ubisoft need a massive W right about now and this is looking good from what I've seen so far.
Gonna hold off on what console to buy on.
See what the Pro brings on this one in terms of enhancements or maybe go series x.
Can be a bit hit and miss, of course Pro will be better in some aspects, then you can end up with PSSR depending what base resolution upscales from with a less shaper image than PS5 and series X.
Think they are gonna use PSSR as the upscaler for the pro.
Both consoles have 30fps quality and 60fps performance mode.
I don't get how their games are always so big, yet never any good.
This seems on par with every other game nowadays. I'll be waiting for reviews to see what the technical state of the game is at launch, but if it's not game-breakingly buggy, then download it, I shall!
Recently deleted God Of War: Ragnarok and Jedi: Survivor after platinums. Still, not sure if I’m gonna pick this one up. Haven’t played Creed since the first game because I disliked it so much.
I can’t wait to not bother to delete four games to make room for this thing!
It’ll be very interesting to see how this does. I expect Ubisoft to go the EA route and quote “engagement” numbers instead of sales, most likely.
@heavyartillery56 and who says Shadows is bad? Its not even out yet. Fact is you're openly hoping it bombs regardless of quality what will in turn see layoffs, studio closures and Ubi being bought by Tencent who will in turn make everything 10 times worse. As i said this stance says a lot about you as a person.

No sir I don't think I will.
This is certainly an interesting comment section to say the least lol.
@nomither6 it’s not irrelevant. You can buy the physical and if it’s not for you , sell it on.
@heavyartillery56 by that metric fromsoft should have been closed after demons souls. Make no mistake it was a very niche game with a small following but enough to get the green light for Dark Souls. Financial success isn’t the only factor.
While I often view specific individuals as toxic to a developer and advocate for their removal, closing an entire studio is scorched earth and done far too lightly these days. I’d support any initiative that sees the Guilemott family dumped from their positions but that’s because ubisofts biggest problem stems from leadership. Investors are a great window into how and why a company is successful or not, as they care very little for simply getting their moneys worth and more for the consistency of that money.
A lot of people that says they don't care about the game sure care enough about it to let other people know they don't care. 😂
@UltimateOtaku91 I’ve actually been really, genuinely surprised by the recent showings. Im a big skeptic after the last few years of this company, but the game looks really good. I love monster hunter, love Elden ring, all that jazz. But sometimes I just want a chill game with a passable narrative to explore, kill enemies and get cool stuff. This looks like it’ll scratch that itch super well, so I’ve put my preorder in with my buddy. I’m down.
@AhmadSumadi
The first one was pretty boring to be honest, and I'm a big fan of the series.
@Coffeeglitch In my opinion Ubi have never made a bad mainline AC game and i expect Shadows will be another at the very least solid entry.
I’ve got 150 gb free, so jeez I hope I don’t have to delete something to make space for this AND Split Fiction. I’m not ready to delete anything else yet, as my console is loaded up with arcade games. I should really make up my mind if I like KCD2 or not at this point…
@LN78 i said “physical vs digital DEBATE” . didn’t say physical was irrelevant.
@Dudeitsme didn’t say physical was irrelevant
"Prepare 107GB of Space for Assassin's Creed Shadows on PS5"
Nah I'm good thanks.
If ya really want a wild comments section go to wccftech it's bedlam over there 😅
@breakneck the ones who “don’t care” about this game are always the ones who comment on it the most. Real “pick me” energy.
Uuh... no. No, i won't. But i hope it's good. Back when i cared about AC i looked forward to this title.
No, I don't think I will.
@DennisReynolds agreed with you. They’ve released less than stellar entries for sure, Valhalla had way too much bloat but I still sunk a good 300 hours or so. It was a good “relax and just wander around and bonk people” game. Most of my issues, again, stem from leadership and mishandling of PR coupled with witnessing a lot of the misogyny within Ubisoft firsthand. So I’m not a fan of leadership but their devs do work hard and don’t deserve the harassment they often get.
When this game flops who will you lot blame? The company who made it or the people who didn't buy it....
@Torque many people (myself included) would disagree that they are "never any good."
@I_Am_Not_A_Robot even if there was thousands agreeing with you here, that still doesn't prove many people. Their last good AC game was Black Flag.
I totally disagree. AC origins was as close to a masterpiece as a game can get imo. The depth and quality was really outstanding. Shame I can't get into Odyssey, and I didn't like Valhalla, but saying they were all bad since black flag is doing Origins a disservice.
