Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade has been making waves in the action RPG space for a while now, but the title's just been hit with its third delay in the space of one year or so.
It's not for the reasons you might expect, though. As Taiwanese developer 7Quark explains on social media, the studio and its partners have simply been overwhelmed with pre-orders for the game's physical limited edition.
"The demand for the limited edition on various platforms far exceeded our expectations," it writes. Basically, production needs to increase, and 7Quark itself has to "handle additional approval processes".
The team's now using this as an opportunity to try and ensure the smoothest possible launch on all platforms — including PS5 and PS4.
Previously slated for the 24th April, Yasha: Legends of the Demon Blade is now targeting a 15th May release date.
Again, this one's looked promising for quite some time, drawing comparisons to games like Hades because of its story and lore-related roguelike elements.
There are three playable characters: the immortal swordswoman Shigure, the plucky monster child Sara, and the demon samurai Taketora. Each of them come with their own playstyles and abilities to master, alongside their own storylines.
Here's the latest gameplay trailer, for your viewing pleasure:

Damn a delay over popularity never seen that before
15 may is DOOM's day.
" I am a victim of my own success "
I mean that’s a genuinely smart decision. No one wants to launch their game and be unable to fulfill orders. If it turns out to be really good it’d be a shame to have it bogged down by controversy.
Never heard of it tbh, must be popular in another metaverse.
The furrybait is real with this one
It looks like a fun game but this is the 1st time i heard about this game.
This generation has been amazing for me as an RPG fan! It’s almost like GTA: San Andreas whereas there’s so much to play that I might not play any of them. But damn! Everything looks so good! The fact that I put hundreds of hours into these types of games means I’d never be able to play them all.
Looks good, although I kind of have backlog problem now, bought too many games at previous discount event at psn 😅
Usually bought this kind of games for switch but with ps portal now I bought indie/non AAA games on ps5 too.
Didn't even know this, saw the game listed on EB Games the other day (for that May release period) and thought "That box art looks pretty nice" plus it's not a full priced game so I may actually grab it 😅
Was super into the trailer… then I saw roguelike and now I’m not so sure…
