After It Takes Two was confirmed to have sold over 20 million copies to date, it remains to be seen whether Split Fiction can replicate that huge success, but its early performance on the UK's physical chart is certainly encouraging.
The game has debuted at number one, with 89 per cent of those physical copies being the PS5 version. Its predecessor proves that there's an appetite for this type of high-octane co-op experience, so while it isn't a direct It Takes Two sequel, we imagine it'll do very well for itself throughout 2025.
It displaces the mighty Monster Hunter Wilds, which moves down to second after topping the chart last week.
Other new releases, Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars and Two Point Museum, also debut in the top 10, at fourth and ninth respectively.
Here's the latest UK top 10 in full (physical sales only).
UK Sales Charts: Week Ending 8th March, 2025
- Split Fiction
- Monster Hunter Wilds
- The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies

Couldn't have happened to a better game. It's really wonderful to see such games succeed.
Almost finished with it and it's been such a blast to play with the family. So fun!
Beating Monster Hunter is no small feat, big congrats.
Cant wait to play it, more small scale brilliantly made games like this please. Quality over Quantity.
That's awesome. Great to see both Suikoden and Two Point Museum on there also. In the words of the immortal Vincent Caravella: 'There has never been a better time to play video games'.
The Pig game had me and the misses in tears laughing. Such a great game. Gives me hope for the industry
My daughter and I played this on and off all weekend and I am just completely blown away. Not only is every level like a roller coaster ride with new game mechanics each time, somehow when you think it's peaked, it just keeps getting better and better. It is truly amazing and a complete joy to play. Talk about knocking it out of the park, this one got knocked out of the galaxy.
Who knew that making a fun video game would pay off? Other than Nintendo. Microsoft between 2001 and 2005. And Sony between 1994 and 2020. But other than them who knew?
Nice to see Call Of Duty do so well.
Great to see. It's brilliant and deserves all the success it gets
@Ultimapunch indeed. Once again, it's that simple.
Puppeteer? Not fun
Gravity Rush? Not fun
Tearaway? Not fun
Returnal? Not fun
Knack 2? Not fun
Sackboy's Big Adventure? Also not fun
So many non-fun games. If only they were fun.
Strong female leads ✊🏾
Love to see it!
After loving A Way Out and being slightly disappointed in It Takes Two, I can confidently say this is on the whole the best game Hazelight has made. Easily the best gameplay out of the 3 and the story is pretty good (but not as great as AWO imo)
@naruball That's subjective. IMO Return was fun.
@heavyartillery56 It is getting harder for me to tell lately, but I am fairly certain that was sarcasm. I also thought your comment about Call of Duty was sarcasm, but who knows? I think @naruball was suggesting that all these games were fun yet did not see high sales numbers.
@heavyartillery56 I think you’re missing the point.
@Ultimapunch I feel like Microsft still know it, they've just had very mixed results at actually pulling the fun off post Xbox 360 era.
@Stevemalkpus Why would I not be happy for a game to succeed. Do you think me a monster?
@heavyartillery56 Sorry. But I think you’re still missing the point…
We need more co op couch games.
Well-deserved success for an awesome studio!
@heavyartillery56 all of them were fun. People who actually played them have said so over and over again. Yet they didn’t sell well.
Makes sense, series x only sold 6.5 million units after 4 years before disappearing from retail stores everywhere 2 months ago. Its basically ceased manufacturing at this point.
And 3rd party publisher Xbox said that PS5 made up of 64% of their sales in December 2024.............. the month that Indiana Jones launched and wasn't even available on PS5. That number would have easily been 80% had it came to PS5. That means Xbox and PC make up a measly 10% each of game sales.
Why do Square Enix need to double their development time with multiplatform day one releases again???
Absolutely loving the game, but one thing I miss that I liked about A Way out is when one player is in a cutscene and the other is still free to wander around. That was a nice little feature.
