PS Plus Re-Release Bags Much Better Trophy List 1

Sony has re-released underrated PS2 kaiju brawler War of the Monsters on both the PS5 and PS4, as part of its improved PS Plus Premium retro push.

While this game was already available on the PS Store as part of the platform holder’s previous efforts, it’s now contained within the company’s new emulator, which comes with all sorts of advantages – like quick save and rewind.

Also among the improvements is an all-new Trophy list, with a Platinum at last. The arena fighter’s gone from 18 Trophies to 21 Trophies, with that silver-blue pot being the most important addition.

But it’s actually easier to get all the gongs this time: most of the Trophies revolve around completing the campaign, and there’s significantly less grinding required now. One thing worth noting is that cheats won’t help you in this version as they’ll disable the Trophies, so that’s worth keeping in mind.

But if you’re already familiar with the game, it shouldn’t take you longer than three or four hours to get all of the gongs – especially if you use the rewind and save state features effectively.

Also of note is that new third-party addition Alone in the Dark 2 has Trophies as well, including a Platinum, so there’s plenty of incentive to revisit these retro games.
