Multimedia conglomerate ANIPLEX may be owned by PS5 maker Sony, but it tends to prefer releasing its games on the PC and Nintendo Switch.
Obviously, we have no issue with this Sony Music subsidiary releasing products on rival platforms, but it always struck us as an unusual lack of synergy that it wouldn’t at least prepare a PlayStation port. (Yes, this is us port begging for the Fate remasters and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.)
Pixel art RPG HYKE: Northern Light(s) – yes, it really is stylised that way, much to our displeasure – is at least targeting Sony’s console at launch.
This is a charming, EarthBound-style adventure, where you play as a witch with a campervan you can customise.
In addition to combat, you’ll be able to personalise your campsite between battles, and choose how you want to relax. It all looks charming: a mixture between cosy game and retro RPG.
The game’s due out this summer, and you can get a taste of what to expect courtesy of the trailer embedded above.

My condolences on confronting its title being stylized that way. Thoughts and prayers.
@get2sammyb , you've had about 19 years to read FSN on PC! 😄 The remaster only adds a flowchart, though that is quite handy for seeing alternate scenes without making loads of saves, to be fair.
It doesn't look half bad either. A perfect little game for the Portal during the summer months.
The combat gives me Alundra on easy mode vibes too. I've been craving that kind of gameplay.
Sony should require a Playstation port of all their games.
Makes zero sense. But i think it will change with the switch 2. Theyll definitely need to bring to more screens with the switches prices going to weed out alot of that customer base
Looks interesting for sure.
