Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PS5

Just as it did upon the Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 ports of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix has today updated Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PS5 with the selection of cheats the other two consoles get with their new versions.

An update is live now on PS5, and having downloaded it, you shall gain access to the following "streamlined progression features", as the developer calls them:

  • Constant Max HP
  • Constant Max MP
  • Limit Gauge Always Full
  • Constant Max Synergy
  • ATB Gauge Always Full
  • Constant Max Damage
  • Max Damage: Minigames
  • 2x EXP & 3x AP Gain
  • Easy Weapon Ability Acquisition
  • More Materials Collected
  • Constant Max Gil
  • Constant Max Recovery Items
  • Max Materia Levels

As long as the options work the same as in Final Fantasy 7 Remake, then turning the cheats on won't disable Trophies.

Further, the patch offers a "New Game — Head Start" option. Selecting this allows you to start the RPG at level 65, only five levels off the maximum of level 70. This will essentially make the entire game incredibly easy as well. You'll select that from the main menu, while the cheats are found in the pause menu in-game.

The patch notes also clarify that a few "additional minor bugs" have been fixed.
