Halo: Campaign Evolved has been available for pre-order on PS5 for less than 24 hours, and that was more than enough time for its considerable Collector's Edition to completely sell out.
The physical Collector's Edition has been an exclusive offering on the Xbox Game Studios Shop, and both the listings in the USA and Europe are already out of stock. You can sign up to receive notifications should they come back into stock, but there's no guarantee that'll actually happen.
A £189.99 / $199.99 purchase of the Collector's Edition got you a 12" statue of the iconic Master Chief, the game itself on both a physical disc and a digital download voucher, an LED Cortana chip, five days of early access, and more.
Of course, the downside to the instant sellout is Ebay is already flooded with fans selling their pre-orders for up to £516.

In an age where Collector's Edition are dying out, I think this is a strong content offering for the costly option. Having such an iconic character in statue form — presuming the quaity is good — is something you could display for life, while it's good to see a publisher offer both a physical and digital version of the game in one.
This is purely the Halo: Combat Evolved campaign from the original Xbox remade for the current generation, along with three entirely new missions. We had a tease of them in the Xbox Games Showcase yesterday, and the overall package is shaping up nicely ahead of a 28th July 2026 launch.

Physical disc + download code? Microsoft knows what collectors want!
Digital skins and plastic junk are worth quadrupling the price of the game?
"Master Chief, do you mind telling me what you're doing on that ship?"
"Sir... ze PlayStation."
I suppose this is the litmus test to decide whether future Halo's will come to PS?
Can see it selling well but not sure I'm gonna bite personally.
@LiamCroft - lol, when I first read this I did a double take - thought it said a 12’ statue of the Master Chief!
…should’ve gone to Specsavers
I haven’t bought a collectors edition for ages, thanks to physical media being removed in favour of digital downloads. I won’t buy this, but I hope that Xbox sets a precedence for Sony to follow and get physical media back into box sets again. Removing them was the worst decision.
I would have gotten it day one but I don't see why I should be invested in a IP if Microsoft are just going take future installments away just so they can keep a much smaller playerbase happy.
Physical and download? Do you get 2 copies?
Very unfortunate. I tried to pre-order one yesterday and saw that it was out of stock.
Guess I'll just have to pre-order the Digital Premium Edition and then buy the Collector's Edition in a couple of years once scalpers realize no one is going to pay $700, and they're forced to drop the price.
Still, that's a lot of money
@AdamNovice Wouldn't the point be to buy it and force them to see the potential sale lost?
Vote with your wallet — money speaks louder than nonsensical fanboys on the internet. Once upper management sees the sales loss for Gears E-Day and Clockwork Revolution compared to other titles on PlayStation, they'll have Xbox change course again.
Not buying it only gives them ammo to justify not supporting the system later on.
Are they really fans if they’re already selling them on eBay?
Haven’t seen anyone confirm or deny yet—does the physical disc actually have the full game on it? I would presume so given that there’s also a digital voucher, but you never know. This is Micro—you will own nothing and be happy, and even things you used to be able to own like PC business software we’re now transforming into consumer unfriendly subscriptions to bleed you for more money—soft, after all.
@AdamNovice If it sells well, the upcoming titles will also be released on PS5. The reason the new Gears game is not coming to PS5 is that the sales of the remaster on PS5 were abysmal.
@Bobarino We call 'em "Scalpers".
@Dodoo
We thought that with gears going to PS, but gears e day is not.
So let’s all work that one out 🤣
@termiki
Give it a year and gears e day might turn up.
It is a shame as the PS5 Pro version would have shined if done well.
Halo merch usually sells like hot cakes. I remember seeing this one Chief statue of his Halo 1 armor years and years ago that kept going in and out of stock, and eventually after completely selling out, it popped up on eBay for over $1k.
I'm seeing a "Requires content download" on the box art on Best Buy's site, indicating that it's probably not the full game on the disc.
A collectors edition with a physical disc?
Take note Sony.
I can see this selling like crazy on PlayStation. Also: disc and code is how it should be! Please become a trend!
The Fable CE went pretty quick too. I was actually going to control myself and not get that one though.
Maybe.
@AI-Generation Hah good point, I have no idea what's going on! 😅
@Sunraku Yeah you have a good point there mate. I do tend to put my money where my mouth is when it comes to these things so Iay well do.
What a time to be alive when people are pre-ordering a pre-order, lol.
@AdamNovice PC + Xbox is a big consumer base
@UnfishedPlate29 Clearly not big enough if there needing to put there games on Playstation.
@Balaam_ The front of the case says download required. Game key disc.
I’ll just stick with my existing purchase of MCC I guess.
@termiki
Here's the cleaned-up version:
Was there anything to prove that the sales were abysmal? I would say it was a "meager" seller on the platform. Sales had trended higher since its release, but overall, Reload was never a system seller on any platform — it only sold around 1 million copies across all 3 platforms.
@Sunraku It sold around 600k on PS5 according to estimations. It was the first Gears ever to be released on PS5 so obviously they expected more.
@Dodoo
I think PS5 owners should not buy Halo remake.
Microsoft gave PS gears remake, then left PS out of the new game, gears e day.
So now Microsoft want you to buy Halo remake and then may leave PS out of the next Halo main game.
That is a bit of a sting.
Again I ask: what is "Halo PS5"?
@termiki It was a remaster of a remake of a 19-year-old game.
The number of PS gamers who have never owned an Xbox or PC is very small. If you own a PS and a PC and were interested in this game, it would make more sense to buy the Ultimate Edition on sale and get Reloaded for free.
I have yet to see a deluxe edition that had any kind of pull on me.
All I ever see is a corporation offering me the opportunity to pay thrice the amount of money 🤑
@AdamNovice same could be said about playstation. Not much of a big user base if they had to port their exculsive games to pc
@AdamNovice Forza Horizon 6 is estimated to have sold over 6 million copies in less than a month, there’s certainly a big audience with those platforms combined.
"for Good Reason" meaning scalpers. Are you sure you want to keep this title?
@Kakun The difference was Sony didn't need PC, many of us said that back in the day. And so it proved. Microsoft need PC and Playstation because they had conditioned their players to only play games through subscriptions which limits how much revenue a game earns, hence the multiplatform releases.
@UnfishedPlate29 And it'll probably do just well on PS5.
@AdamNovice Microsoft started putting all of their games on PC before Game Pass existed first of all. The reason for PS5 ports was because the previous leadership overspent on ABK and was imposed with a strict 30% profit margin. The new leadership knows this was a bad idea, hence why they’re reversing it, and they have proof their games can be very successful just on PC and Xbox. You should read up on some of the previous reporting on this.
The price is f... absurd I complain about the ps5 pro price but is next lvl BS you can buy a brand new SW2 for that price
Ps:I wonder if the Xbox version sold this fast 😂😂
@AdamNovice Ah you see that where this gets intreasting cus ps exclusive arent selling as well as ps4 buddy, sony games dont need pc or more accurate term here is pc gamer didnt care about sony games enough as much as playstation fans do for xbox games but pc fans will buy xbox games on pc hmmm intreasting.. i know quite a handful of causal gamers that would make you eat your words if you saw their xbox library.. they do buys games not just the way you think (seriously look for any rogue like and xbox will be up there in sales number).. bt i can agree gamepass is canablizing intial sales of their Aaa games. What microsoft needs isnt ps but it needs to work on it PC ecosystem properly... Or do you believe they need the switch 2 cus i can tell you for a fact they selling alot on switch 2 as well (i literally have 3 xbox games on switch 2, not counting the many that have released on their store front already)
@MasterVGuides It could also just mean download is required for the DLC skins
