InXile’s ambitious immersive sim Clockwork Revolution will join Gears of War: E-Day in skipping PS5, as Microsoft’s unclear strategy begins to formulate.
It seems the Redmond firm is going to pick and choose the odd title here and there to bolster its platform, while making the bulk of its other titles available everywhere.
The game doesn’t have a release date just yet, but is due out in 2027.

“In this immersive RPG, you’ll step into the shoes of Morgan Vanette, a fully customizable player-character and member of the Rotten Row Hooligans. Travel between past and present as you battle the ruthless Lady Ironwood, who has been manipulating time to keep the working class struggling while amassing immense wealth and power.”

Bit gutted about this one.
Looks genuinely really interesting.
Do we care? I don't. It looks exactly like some western title I saw a million times.
But the new strategy for this week seem to cherry-pick the exclusives, at least. Idk if it will make sense for them but happy for Xbox fans that were clamoring for exclusives!
Not sure this will help them, but whatever helps them sleep at night, I guess
Well I enjoyed the look of this
Ah well. Il always have backlog lol
Looks great this does
Anything not coming to PS5 I'll just play on PC. I don't think this helps Xbox 'consoles' this generation however.
Looks really cool, but their exclusives "strategy" seems like Asha Sharma is just throwing random shots at a dartboard. I'm sure the Xbox fanatics on Twitter are creaming in their pants, though. Good for them getting two exclusives, I guess.
Never say never....
I have no issue with Xbox keeping games as Xbox exclusives as long as they are not going back on already announced games.
This was never announced for PS5 so having it as an Xbox exclusive now is something no PS5 owner can complain about.
The new gears of war however was announced for PS5 and now isn't coming which I think is pretty crappy for those PS5 owner's looking forward to it.
@RBMango no not really I don't care about gears and it's a bit sad that they release a gears game on ps then won't sell the rest , I'd much prefer to keep games that haven't had a ps release like fable and state of decay as exclusives
Edit ,oh and don't care if clockwork is exclusive or not I just want to play it !!!!
@UltimateOtaku91 I like your attitude!!!
Boycotting anyways because of Microsoft's business in THAT country.
Actually looking forward to this one, oh well
Looks amazing
I’ll guess I’ll dust my series x off then
@RBMango Imagine their pants if Elder Scrolls 6 is an Xbox exclusive.
@UltimateOtaku91 In the famous words of Asha Sharma: "the plan isn't the plan until it is the plan until it isn't a plan."
@PSbox I'd actually respect Xbox a lot if they had the confidence to make ES6 an Xbox exclusive.
@RBMango Well there's alot of anti-Xbox comments on these threads but I think these people are forgetting that Xbox has ES6 up it's sleeve. I agree with you. They probably should make it an exclusive. They've given Sony an easy ride and ES6 probably would sell consoles. Fallout should probably be added to that too.
I really want to know the excitement for this because looks extra boring
@rusty82 Was E Day ever officially announced for PS5?
@FredBiletnikoff I thought it was. A story earlier even suggested it had it's age rating on PS5 which would suggest it was coming
Damn it. I was hoping this one would come over to the PS side.
Microsoft listening to the most toxic less than 1% of their fan base is what put them in this position to begin with. They’re never overtaking Sony. Period. And all that happened today is they lost my money on two games I intended to buy. No matter what they don’t release on ps5, I’m not switching to Xbox. Period. And I’m the majority. I wasn’t planning to play Starfield, but I bought it when it hit PS5. Suit yourself Xbox. I’ve got no shortage of games to play. 🤷🏻♂️
@16BitHero It won’t help next gen either. They will never overtake Sony and that’s just a fact. Poor move by MS, but the worst part is all the toxic Xbox fanboys have come out of their bunkers to cause discourse. 🤦♂️
@Yor-sama the story concept looks interesting but it looks just like any other wrpg from the likes of Bethesda
This is the most promising as yet unreleased game that we know about imo so it's a big blow it's not coming to Playstation.
I don't get the decision, it's a new IP, from brilliant devs but devs who don't have history in this genre, it's never going to be a system seller so it doesn't make any sense to make this exclusive. Especially when they're releasing halo on ps5 next month which is about as synonymous with Xbox as it gets.
Feel sorry for thr devs, theyre game is going to be skipped by millions regardless of how good it is. Gears of war makes sense to be exlsuive, this doesn't.
@DefiledViper I agree as someone who has owned every Xbox apart from the Xbox One generation. I primarily got the Series X for Microsoft Flight Simulator before I eventually built a PC. Xbox has made too many mistakes with regard to the console business. They'll do just fine as a publisher but always having their games on PC will mean any future console will likely be a niche product with Sony and Nintendo so far ahead in the console space. I really don't get the whole fan boy thing - even if you only own one system. We're all gamers at the end of the day. It's a fantastic entertainment medium. These sites don't always help matters by using the term 'fans' in every other article. I'm not a PlayStation fan. I'm a (long suffering Tottenham and Knicks fan). I'm a PlayStation gamer.
@PSbox Maybe, but I'm guessing a ton of people already have a PC and would just play It there. I have no issues with a company having exclusive games but the problem with MS is they destroyed console exclusivity when they released everything on PC at the same time.
In the 360 era it took about 12 months or so before porting their games and the OG fat box they stayed exclusive. Jet Set Radio Future, Grabbed by the Ghoulies and Blinx for example never went anywhere. Forza on PS5 sold multiple millions of copies last year despite being relatively old so you would think a capitalist corpo would want your money, guess not.
Sony is slightly different in the PC port redaction because as far as I'm aware they never really sold very well anyway.
@PSbox That would be a massive blow for the fans but personally I don't care. It's nothing new that certain stuff stays on other platforms. Got to love the remarks the exclusive games is a ancient practice but somehow you don't see those people here complaining anymore.
@RBMango lose millions of dollars in sales but gain the respect of "the_crypto_fisherman_88" on twitter
Well worth it, excellent business decision
@opo02 yeah I know that's why I don't see the excitement
@Flaming_Kaiser True. Nothing new. I'd love to be able to play all games on the same platform but I'll be pushing up daisies before that happens.
@Stale-Bread It will be interesting to see how powerful Helix will be and what the pricepoint is. It's going to have to be nigh on high spec PC equivalent to persuade PC gamers to swap. Gaming PCs are very expensive and you have to upgrade etc. I'd much prefer to play on a console than PC. I think the Xbox execs are trying what they can to drag Xbox out of the mire. Renewing console wars is just a tactic. PS will always sell well regardless.
@PSbox not sure how many are like me…. I’ll be going PS6 for sure… have a switch 2…
I have a massive Xbox catalogue… but basically left Xbox entirely 3.5 years… haven’t used my series x since January 2023… Had already decided to be done with Xbox hardware for good with their games being on PS5 especially… I’m about as multi platform as a gamer can be the last 35 years… but I personally will be going to steam machine much sooner than buying the next Xbox at this rate…. I feel like Helix is going to bomb more than even anticipated if steam machine still makes it the market before it… and accomplishes the same thing… with a way cooler controller… but my gut says Xbox will still continue to have a dated boring non gyro controller holding their games back… and the whole industry back in a ways again…
@PSbox Sounds interesting, I to don't like PC gaming. I have nothing against it or the people who enjoy it but on a psychological level I just really don't like computers, feel impersonal. I dunno it's a weird feeling but I have always been like it and probably doesn't help my job requires me to use one everyday 🤣
