There aren't many things we know about the Helldivers movie, but one is that Jason Momoa is attached to star in the film. Well, according to a new report, that's no longer the case.

According to Deadline, anonymous sources have said the actor is no longer set to appear in the Helldivers flick. No reason for his departure was provided.

The film is scheduled for 10th November, 2027, and will be directed by Justin Lin, probably best known for his work on the Fast & Furious movie series.

Sony is apparently now on the hunt for a new star to front the Helldivers movie, which has yet to reveal any story details, but if it's anything like the games (and why wouldn't it be), I expect it'll be a Starship Troopers for the modern age.

Given how huge Helldivers 2 has been for Sony and developer Arrowhead, it makes sense for a film to follow, especially now video game adaptations have gotten off the ground. Obviously the quality has varied quite wildly, but I expect a big, silly, satirical, sci-fi action movie should be good fun on the big screen.
