I always try to look on the brighter side and I never pick the "it's a crap selection" option .

This month however I'm willing to make an exception

A bad month for me. Especially considering the recent price hikes.

An excellent month for me. I almost bought Grounded about 37 times. And I love Spongebob so Nickelodeon should be fun if my niece and nephew are willing to give it a try.

Darktide would be great, but my brain refuses to let me enjoy first person games.

Edit: Wait! There is Korra, too?! Count me in!

Don't think it's that bad myself. I've seen worse months.

Guess I’ll try that Nickelodeon Smash clone, I like those, but I know their games aren’t great so I doubt it’ll be entertaining beyond 30 minutes.

Edit: Lost interest after I noticed the campaign was a rogue like.

@Member_the_game If you haven't played it before give Grounded a try, it might surprise you. I incorrectly wrote it off as a kids game when I first saw it and paid it no attention, but after grabbing it in a sale last year, it's one of the best survival/exploration games I've ever played. The whole garden sandbox is great to run around in, and the base building is genuinely superb and has a lot of scope for creativity. It's absolutely worth a try for anyone who thinks it's not for them.

I'm not massively into Survival type games so I guess that's why I've instantly dismissed it.

I do however like the Honey I shrunk the kids vibes that it gives off though so maybe I'll give it a try.

It's free at the end of the day so nothing lost if I try it and don't like it

Makes not renewing my yearly subs next week a Hell of a lot easier. Only pain is I'm getting Yotei today and won't be able to play Legends I guess. Unless I played Legends first but that could ruin the main game possibly?

@Member_the_game I'm not either to be honest but I found myself enjoying it in this setting.

If you want to tone some of that stuff down, you can start a custom game and turn off things like hunger, thirst, spoiling food and weapon/armor degradation. You still get the same full story experience.

Like you said, it's free so definitely worth a punt.

Its a good job I got GOY to get on with and also the final D2 update next Tuesday, the games are a bit meh on this months essential

They would have to completely stop making games for me to ever have time to even contemplate trying these. And that would still take another decade after finishing the backlog first.

Darktide and Grounded are great games and well worth trying.

I dont know why I even get annoyed about the complainers.
Grounded is Highly praised everywhere.
Darktide had a rough launch but now people really love it.
and All Stars brawl, well you cant win them all but still.

I swear to god even if they put gta6 on release day on ps+ people would still find a reason to complain.

@LordOfTurnips spot on. Darktide had a rough launch on the pc and xbox but by the time it made its way to the ps5 it was a hell of a lot better in every way. I played the base ps5 version and had no idea it was pro enhanced. The pro version is better obviously but it's not a massively better experience. It's sharper and a lot smoother and I think the effects are more pronounced but if anybody is expecting something more I think you will be disappointed. Still a great game.

Sad thing to see 5 items in free and leaving everything untouched...

I would find a new hobby before I even considered playing any of these. I may not even bother adding them to my library, just to send a message.

First month for a long long time that I don't even add at least one of the three to my library on a 'just in case I ever feel like playing this' basis. Which in itself basically means a nope anyway.

Games have to be seriously bad to not even warrant that.

Did they ever add a single player mode to Darktide? I know there was talk of it at one point. Otherwise I’m not interested.

In my mind, I'm thinking "for me" when answering your poll questions. It's not "It's a crap selection", it's "it's a crap selection for me".

Staring at my Home Screen would be more pleasurable than any of these games. Back to HSR I guess.

The games are okay, but not for most people. At least you could look at it as 2 are licensed and will go away eventually, and you'll still have them.

Is Grounded worth playing single player?

@Sweetz - yes, it's great. Having tried it a couple of times though, it might be worth trying on Easy rather than Normal difficulty. Some of the creatures are hard as nails!
