PS5's PS Store Shovelware Purge Continues with the Removal of More Garbage Games 1

Sony is at the end of its tether with PS5 shovelware, and it’s now removing games at a remarkable rate.

We’ve already reported on thousands of crappy titles that have been pulled from the PS Store, but the platform holder is on a crusade at this point.

The next to fall is so-called micro-indie Acyntha, which has had its “relationship with PlayStation terminated”.

Writing on X (or Twitter), the studio said that its products will be axed from Sony’s storefront at the end of the month. Its titles include garish releases like Pizza No Pizza and New Supper Banana.

I must admit, these games certainly don’t look as egregious as things we’ve reported on before like the Jumping Sushi. But they all have extraordinarily easy Platinum Trophies, and clearly exist for that purpose alone.

I would like to learn a little more about what Sony’s process is here, and why it can’t stop these types of titles at source. I think it’s good it’s removing these releases over time, but why not block them before they even reach the PS Store?

Clearly, though, the manufacturer has had enough of the crap on its storefront – and it’s long overdue.
