SEGA's latest financial report sheds some new light on sales figures for many of its existing games, but two from last year were excluded from the chart.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and Shinobi: Art of Vengeance have not received public sales numbers, and have in fact been lumped together in the report as under-performers.
"Despite strong title evaluations, sales results have fallen short of expectation," the report says of both games, referring to their impressive review scores not correlating with sales.
CrossWorlds has a Metascore of 82, and Art of Vengeance is even higher at 87. Both are great games in their own right, but that doesn't seem to have boosted their sales performance.
We know that CrossWorlds has sold at least one million copies, reported about a month after its launch. SEGA also said the kart racer's initial sales performance was below expectations, and that it was aiming to sell another million units by March 2026.
It's not known if that was achieved, but if it's still considered to be below the publisher's expectations, I'd presume it hasn't.
It's a shame these games haven't measured up in that way, because as mentioned, they're both very good at what they set out to do.
CrossWorlds is getting another year's worth of DLC, with crazy crossovers like Godzilla and Evangelion on the way.
Art of Vengeance also had a DLC pack themed around SEGA villains from other series, though it's hard to say whether that gave it any sort of boost.
