I don't know about you, but I've really missed the kind of aggressive, crazy-fast arcade racing games of yesteryear. Fortunately, it seems Star Wars Galactic Racer is shaping up to scratch that itch.
Check out this new trailer, which definitely has shades of Burnout in among all the Star Wars stuff:
The trailer is focused on story, but first, I just want to point out how cool it is to see a track-based racing game with takedowns in 2026. It's like Burnout and WipEout put in a blender with Star Wars, and it makes me happy.

Anyway, story. Kestar Bool is the domineering villain sat atop the Galactic League, and to thwart him, you play as a mysterious new contestant named Shade, enlisted by the league's founder.
"With the help of the energetic engineer Hibi and a certain legendary podracer, Shade's sights are set on unseating the corrupt reigning champion," reads the description.
To be completely honest, I can take or leave the narrative aspect of this — the action itself looks like a lot of fun.
The game is heading to PS5 on 6th October 2026. Are you excited for it? Tell us in the comments section below.

This is a must buy for me. Can’t wait it’s been sooooo long since pod racer
Yeah I agree. This looks superb.
Loved pod racer and the fact this had burnout elements to it too had me even more excited
This looks like it could be very fun. Great graphics as well.
