Does Marvel Tokon's New Update Fix the Game on PC? Results Seem to Be Mixed 1

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls launched last week, and while people generally seem to be having a great time with the superhero fighter, the PC version in particular has been causing a lot of headaches among players.

Today, 10th August 2026, developer Arc System Works took the game's servers offline for maintenance, and once they came back, a new, 10 GB patch was deployed — all in the hopes of improving the PC experience.

The team has been working to improve lag and performance issues, primarily by reducing CPU usage, but there are a few other tweaks and bug fixes that should make things smoother.

Here are the full patch notes:

We've been working on a number of fixes and improvements aimed at reducing performance issues, improving stability, and addressing some specific problems.

Reduced CPU Usage

Multiple fixes have been implemented to reduce overall CPU usage, including:

  • An issue where the CPU ran high throughout the start up process.
  • An issue where additional load on the system was being created due to periodic audio processing during matches.

Sudden Performance Drops

We identified an issue where the game was regularly checking for available audio inputs. These unnecessary checks could cause sudden frame drops and performance drops. This has now been addressed.

Frame Rate Drops

Fixed an issue where the frame rate would drop when certain resolutions were selected.

Bug Fixes

Battle Settings

Fixed an issue where restarting the game with certain customization items or colors enabled would cause the settings to revert to default.

Online Lobby

Fixed an issue where changing how attack buttons were displayed to action icons resulted in some buttons becoming unresponsive during the open lobby mini games.

On PC:

Warm Up Those Shaders

With the game being updated to the latest version, the PC version will prompt you to warm-up the shaders. Do so now for a smoother experience.

Auto Graphics Quality Setting

Improved auto spec detection to select a graphics profile that better fits your system.

Thanks for your continued reports and feedback. These fixes are part of our ongoing work to improve performance, stability, and the overall experience.

While I've not got access to the PC version, I've been reading some of the reactions to the update via the game's Discord and other social media, and it seems to be a mixed response.

A lot of people are reporting their experience is improved following the patch, with smoother frame rates and better online matches. However, there are still some who say their game is largely unchanged.

It does seem that, broadly speaking, it's an improvement for most, though there's still work to be done to get it operating smoothly for everyone. If you've been struggling with Tokon on PC it might be worth checking it out post-update.
