It seems that the dynamic pricing issues Sony is currently experimenting with on the PS Store is impacting what kind of discounts PS5 owners are receiving in today's new PS Store Black Friday sale.

With evidence from the Cheap Ass Gamer social media account, there are reports first-party PS5 titles Death Stranding 2, Astro Bot, and the Complete Edition of Horizon Forbidden West are all affected.

Across multiple posts, the profile has documented how Astro Bot, for example, can display a price between $33.59 and $39.59:

Then there is evidence of Death Stranding 2 being either $34.29 or $39.89. There's generally a $5 discrepancy between potential prices where dynamic pricing is being used on the PS Store:

PlayStation fans have heavily criticised the experiment in pricing, as it's not clear why some people will receive a better discount than others. Sony also hasn't publicly commented on this exercise at all. The situation was revived last week with a job listing that referenced "intelligent pricing", as fans worry Sony will double down on its efforts with a company position dedicated to dynamic pricing.
