Naughty Dog is one of Sony's most prolific first-party studios, so much so that it can be considered one of the best game developers in the world right now. That's thanks to the likes of the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises, but the team actually has a long history that stretches back more than 30 years. So, how well do you know the titles which came before those genre-defining experiences? Do you know a lot about Naughty Dog or is it more of a surface-level appreciation for the developer? Let's find out.
Quiz: How Well Do You Know Naughty Dog?

9/10. Forgot that Crash Bash was the first one not developed by Naughty Dog.
π€¦πΌββοΈ 3. Not what I hoped to get
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah the formula was identical for Crash and Jak: 3 games + racing
Anyone else miss PlayStation Home? π
5/10.
Only ones I knew for sure were Halley Gross, Mark Cerny and them making 4 Crash and Jak games each.
@TheFrenchiestFry so close! If ND had made Crash Bash it wouldn't have been a piece of trash.. (I half kid, spent many hours on that game)
Not going to Sully's Bar in PlayStation Home is now my biggest regret in life.
9/10 didn't know the Jak program code name
I got 3. Would've been 4 if there was a complete-this-sentence question like 'Naughty dog likes to-', and the answer was crunch.
9/10, went with huge instead of big...
Make of that what you will.
4/10 not bad for me lol
3/10. I guessed 2 of them. Yey me!
@Loftimus At least there was no 'Yuge', 'Tremendous' or 'Bigly' option
10/10, I guessed the executive part since I can never wrap that Cerny can be considered as such as he and his company are technically independent.
3/10. And I had to guess on two of them!
Should rename it, "how well do you NOT know naughty dog"
6/10.... for some reason I thought this was going to be easy.
5/10. A lot of sensible guesses though, like I mean how could some studio call themselves Marmalade, of course Jam is the only sensible option.
5/10 but I'm not the biggest naughty dog fan anyhow I have to admit. I absolutely love Sony exclusives but Naughty Dog games (always enjoyable as they are) are never the 10/10 games everyone seems to make them out to be in my opinion. I'll take Insomniac games anyday. Just my two cents.
1 out of 10. A pure guess fot lucky on the last question. No surprise though, when a studio only makes maybe 3 good games in 35 years.
7/10 β Good. That's according to the Push Square review policy. I'll take it.
3/10 with three shots in the dark... π
@NYJetsfan123. 3cout of 10 damn playa.haha.hows everything fam.you chilling.i got 9 out of 10.word up son
1/10. To answer the question in the article title: 'obviously not very well'
@pip_muzz Yep just your two cents but once them and R* are the 2 Devs that take realism, attention to detail and cinematics to the extra level compared to other Devs, they'll always be 10s everyone makes them out to be.
4/10, but that's pending my lawsuit for a recount. I did remember the Home space though.
3/10, all 3 were guesses. To be fair, despite the supposed reputation, I have only ever played Uncharted 1 and TLOU. Don't particularly know them that well as a result.
@playstation1995
What's up cuz?? I'm chilling. Doing alright considering the shape the world's in right now haha. 9/10, damn! You a die hard!
3/10 lucky guesses
Jam software eh? You learn something every day
6/10 The only one I knew was the name of the home space. I'll give back my hardcore gamer card.
Well enough to know they've rehashed the same s*** over and over.
10/10 lol not bad at all
3/10 never been one to keep up with the dev side of gaming.
Only 6 out of 10, and I dare to call myself NaughtyDog fan!
5 out of 10! Terrible xD
2 out of 10. Whoopsies. Guess my Naughty Dog history isn't up to snuff.
5/10, poor effort
@oldschool1987 - I didn't use Home much but I do miss watching the Sony E3 events in there with a bunch of friends, good times.
8/10 but there were some very lucky guesses.
It's a 10/10 for me. Though I did kinda have to guess on the coding language. Heh.
First time commenting on this site!
I got an 8 out of 10! The only questions I missed was the Sally Bar one and the last question! But glad I got a B!
5 these were tricky!
I remember playing U3 multiplayer and the teasers for TLOU first appearing in newspapers on tables of some of the maps!
No questions about early games like Dream Zone or Keef The Thief? Those were the classics!
4 / 10, and ND is my fav sony 1st party dev (before tlou2). I don't know much about games codename, I thought the question is more about their games π
6/10 - Not bad considering I don't know much about ND themselves.
I got half right.
10/10 but two total guesses in there, the PlayStation Home one, which was more what I'd have gone with and where they announced TLoU. However, was Cerny ever an exec at Sony? I don't think he was. Until 1996 he was an exec at Universal Interactive, and he became an independent consultant after that, which he remains to this day. Also, it was Shuhei Yoshida who requested a platform mascot game to compete with Mario and set not only Naughty Dog but Insomniac on the path to developing Crash and Spyro.
4. Dear o dear. One day i will get a decent score on one of these quizzes
6/10 mostly by guessing. I'm always underwhelmed with their games anyway π
4/10 tough one for me that!
@DragonSlayer1759 one day I actually did get a good score on one of these quizzes (on Nintendolife though).
It was a good day π
5/10, all guesses.
@SirAngry βAfter designer and producer Mark Cerny convinced Naughty Dog to create a character-based platform game that would use the 3D capabilities of the new systems, Naughty Dog created Crash Bandicoot for the PlayStation in 1996.β
@LiamCroft he was never a Sony Executive though. Still isn't. He was a Senior Producer at Universal Interactive at the time, and again, he's never been an employee of Sony. He's an independent consultant at his own company.
@LiamCroft look, here's the question:
"Which Sony executive convinced Naughty Dog to create a platformer that would go on to become Crash Bandicoot?"
Cerny has never been a Sony Executive.
7 out of 10 with a couple lucky guesses
2/10 for me. Pathetic, I know.
And yes, @oldschool1987. Yes, I do miss PlayStation Home. π . That question was one of the two answers I got right.
3/10 some of those questions...π
I got 3. Boooooooooo!!!!!!
@Loftimus overcompensating ππ
4/10 Avarage boy. Story of my mother fcuking life.
