Re: Final Fantasy 16 DLC Is Now an Option Being Considered by Square Enix

@KaijuKaiser Clearly, it’s not a real FF game, belongs more in the FF Crystal or other useless FF games. This is just a linear adventure in some world that happens to have giant yellow birds. Killing the same 10 monsters over and again is not entertaining.

The only chocobos you kill in this game come in 3 varieties. Yellow, featherless and undead. In fact every creature has an undead variety, no creativity in design.

It’s like they concentrated so hard on the action aspect, they ignored the fantasy. This is a small step above any action game. Not an rpg.

Let’s count the ways this game does NOT count as a FF game. No dungeons, just hallways of arenas. No custom party members. No collectibles. No upgrade system, no optional content not tied to a side quest. Limited monsters. Have killed more chocobos than any other FF game.

I can only wear 3 items of jewelry, can only use swords, included rings of accessibility to make game not act like an action game.

So many missed opportunities of extra content. Castles, ruins, mines, caves, leviathan all missing. Hell, even abandoned cities can’t be looked at except from a distance.

Dumb characters, intelligence wise. An entire continent that believes in suicide as part of a normal religion. Which begs the question of why even reproduce? So many things wrong with Devil May Fantasy 16.

For me, the text size overall has no size setting, it’s a turn off trying to read. As big as it is, it feels rushed, no extra dungeons, nothing paramount to explore. Land is mostly traversible without a chocobo. No fishing, No mini games, no optional areas. Main character isn’t likable, time skip, no passion, and no party members.

It’s a great action game in the FF universe, but not even collectibles dot the field. Makes the game lackluster in terms of a FF RPG.

On NG+2 already, hidden bosses as you go up in games. Lots of lore unlocked, more to go. Difficulty is easily 4x normal. Use house rules, and forget about beating it 8x on normal (NG+7 only available to non house rules play through.

Have little complaints, but the class scars demand perfection just to get bronze. Horribly unfair, skip them, not needed as you get gems from npcs and other scars.
