I've already determined this year as one I'm backlog focusing in because (outside of EDF World Brothers) I'm not buying any new games this year. Unlike most people, I think new games have mostly plateaued in mediocrity and there's next to nothing I'm excited for anymore. If there is something I do want to look into getting (like Monster Hunter Rise, for example), I can get it later.

I admit I cheated on the second question by reading the text on the box.

If both come out in the west, I'm getting this in addition to EDF 6. This for my Switch, and 6 for my PS4.

There was once a point in time when a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster would have made me excited. Unfortunately, I stopped giving money to EA years ago, so that time has run its course.

I haven't had the chance to clear the PS1 version that I still have downloaded on my Vita, so I'd rather eventually play that.

I was never planning to directly buy Sonic Forces, but I'm interested enough to play it for free. Also, I wasn't planning on getting SotC for PS4 since I still never got around to playing the PS3 one I got on sale a long time ago (possibly also PS+? Can't remember), but again, it made sense to grab the upgraded version for free.

I'm back into Final Fantasy XIV with the new patch update, so I'll be playing that with friends. I'm also taking a bit of a break from Dragon Quest VIII for some All Kamen Rider: Rider Revolution on 3DS

While I have been trying to focus on Dragon Quest VIII on my 3DS recently, I've been distracted by playing Earth Defense Force 5 with my friend, so I predict more of that.

I've never really been interested in any of them, but I wouldn't mind picking up Bioshock for free. Played a tiny bit of the first one back on 360 and I never got into it because of my buying new games all the time back then.

The only thing that would blow my mind would be if their games came out complete and they abolished their predatory "surprise mechanics." But since that's the future of gaming, I don't forsee my mind being blown any time soon.

Mainly focusing on Shenmue 3. Just recently made it to Niaowu and I'm kind of floored with the amount of stuff you can do there.

I'm not planning on buying a PS5 unless it can do everything the PS4 can and has at least 5 games for it that I'm interested in (which is less likely that what one might imagine these days but that's a whole other rant). That said, if PS5 was fully backwards compatible I would be more likely to buy one due to convenience factors. I don't care what anyone else says; I would rather have less things plugged into my TV. It's bad enough as it is.

I'm another one with one of those huge backlogs, and I'm not planning on getting either of those games, so I personally don't care. That said, they should delay things like that if needed to avoid crunch and have a more quality product. It can only benefit the people who actually are looking forward to them.

I just finished playing the first Shenmue recently and it's really got me looking forward to the third one.

Link's Awakening is my favorite game of all time, so I'm all in on the Switch version right now.

Yakuza Kiwami and Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, with a bit of Final Fantasy XIV thrown in for good measure.

@ZeroAbbadon Good point, I do pronounce "Cross" for those titles. However, I was told of those pronunciations straight away, and not after 20+ years of calling it something else.

I don't care. I'm still calling it X. Even considering the "symbols, not letters" thing, I've never in my life referred to an X-shape as a "cross"

@MJKatana I haven't been keeping track of my progress's time but from what I've looked up it's about 60 hours.

I'm pretty sure I'm nearing the end of Dragon Quest Builders 2, I'm gonna try to clear that this weekend. Also gonna start getting into current endgame stuff on Final Fantasy XIV.

I'll be playing Final Fantasy XIV as usual, I'm right at the final boss of the new expansion. I also still have a lot more to go with Dragon Quest Builders 2 so I'm going to focus more on that when I'm done.

Even if this does turn out to be true, no. No more EA games. Not even for free.

Getting back into Final Fantasy XIV today.

I've been told that I'm near the end of Final Fantasy VI so hopefully I can power through the rest of it. My goal is to clear it before I resub to FFXIV next Saturday.

Todd's just dwelling on past regrets and looking forward to his DLC roadmap, when he should be in the present fixing the darn game.

I think E3 is an outdated concept. In this day and age, publishers can just make announcement and post reveal trailers on social media, so as far as I can see, there'd no real point to E3 itself anymore

I couldn't really care less about E3 in general. With the internet the way it is, folks can drum up hype about upcoming games easier and more frequently than they could when E3 first started, so the concept to me is kind of outdated. That, and seeing as every major release these days is either a multiplayer-based FPS, battle royale, or open world action game, I'm kind of burned out on seeing the same stuff released over and over.

Looking to finish up Crystalis and move on to some assorted shorter games to boost my clear count for the year. Still have a way to go to try and surpass 50 (last year's count).

Been feeling kind of "blah" lately and haven't felt the want to play much. If anything, I did finally get a chance to grab Joker on Smash, so I can play that for a bit and explore the new content, also Final Fantasy XIV and Crystalis, the latter of which I really want to complete but haven't been in the best of mindsets to play.

Need to make up for lost time on Final Fantasy XIV, but I've also started Crystalis for the first time, so I'll be putting some progress into that as well.
