Re: Dragon Ball Manga Icon Akira Toriyama Passes Aged 68

The world of manga, and comics in general, has lost another legend.

Even though I outgrew Dragon Ball a long time ago it still has a special place in my heart because it was not only one of the first mangas I ever read but also one of the very first works that introduced me to the Japanese entertainment industry.

Rest in peace Toriyama sensei, and thank you for your hard work and timeless contributions.

@Dragoon1994 : Yeah they both need to make a comeback for sure.

A little unsure what rights you are referring to though. Sony owns both IPs. Yeah, Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch were the original devs of J&D and Sly respectively but they moved on while other developers have made new titles or ports. TfB could end up as another of those devs if Sony gives them a chance.

Re: Poor Suicide Squad Sales Disappoint Publisher Warner Bros

I want to say that WB will hopefully learn from this and not make one more attempt at the live-service market but we all know, or should know, that the reality of business doesn't work like that sadly.

@GKT : True, I don't recall the Suicide Squad ever being that 'famous' or 'popular' even back in their comic-only days. I dunno when exactly Harley joined the group but outside of her I initially only knew about Deadshot among its members (and Waller but that was more because of her Justice League Unlimted appearance then SS).

Personally I believe the addition of Harley, who was the biggest fan favorite at the time, became a notable key factor in pushing the group into the limelight. That, and WB later on wanting to emulate the success of the first Guardians of the Galaxy film (considering how the GotG team used to be a relatively obscure group, like the Suicide Squad, before their cinematic debut).

While not my least favorite SF title, SF5 is not that high either in my list of favorite fighters. I like the roster (especially compared to SF6's current roster), stages, and music. The story mode was mid (although, again in comparision, for all its flaws I prefer it over SF6's World Tour), the artstyle was pretty much just SF4 upgraded for PS4, and some of the gameplay's new features didn't sit well with me.

Overall SF5 is a mixed bag for me, but, as noted by several users above me, I'm glad it got upgraded for the better in the end.

Gremio108 : "He also seemed to be peddling some sort of "scientists are narrow-minded and refuse to listen to anyone else" act, which felt depressingly out of place in a kids film and contained echoes of some of his ill-informed views on certain matters."

Out of place? These kind of scientists, among other types, have been commonplace in 'children/family-friendly' fiction works for decades. Not sure why you think Carrey's portrayal of Eggman is any different.
