I don't really care what they call it, I’ll still call it either MK12 or MK '23 (or whatever year it may get released).

I mean, the seconds hand jumping five seconds past 12 could just indicate that May 12 tomorrow is the date of the formal MK12 reveal.

In anycase, considering MK11's DLC ending(s), a second reboot of the series' storyline isn't a surprise. I just hope the game has a fairly large base roster when it comes to the fighters.

Truly a shame, CG was good imo.

I'm not a fan of Fortnite myself but I'm not fuming over this news piece as its not exactly the "strangest thing" that ever happened to the gaming or olympic world imo (and admittedly, my long-since dead interest in the olympics, which frankly has been a joke for years now thanks to many other "serious" reasons, is also why I'm not 'going crazy' lol).

Overall this road for gaming is not something I personally would or will support, but considering how gaming has been slowly but surely trying to merge into the mainstream scene for decades, and coupled with the insane popularity of both Fortnite and the e-Sports scene, this news kinda makes sense in a way.
Plus, as BeerIsAwesome above mentioned, a few e-Sport games (DOTA 2, eFootball, and Rocket League) were an invitational part of the Commonwealth games last year, so something like this was a long time coming.

It won't stop me from getting the game but... roguelite elements? Bleh...
Glad we are getting a new DD game nonetheless.
Some people also say the artstyle is reminiscent of TMNT Shreddrer's Revenge but imo its slighty less visually impressive then that game.

I'm pretty sure a Gravity Rush movie was announced last year, though whether it is animated or live-action is unknown.

Still, I rather have a new Gravity Rush game. Don't really see a point in making the movie, besides gauging interest in the IP, considering how GR sadly has been put in the back corner along with certain other Sony IPs.

I heard the rumor before but never thought much about it. I can understand why some believed or wanted it to true though, Vaan is definitely memorable enough as being one of the most dullest MCs ever created in Japanese storytelling, gaming or otherwise.

Akuma was expected and Rashid I kinda get but why bring back Ed? No offense to any fans but he was such a bore.

I had to look up who Wade was again, saw it is Tom's follow cop buddy and went "huh, okay". He was/is pretty forgettable to me like most of the humans in the movies.
I don't expect great things from this tv series but I do hope it doesn't focus entirely on the unlikely dou here.

Regardless of how I feel towards Ubisoft these days they made the most sensible choice in this case.
The only real shocker here is that ESA still hasn't officially declared E3 dead at this point.

Gameplay itself is fairly good imo but the devs pretty much ruined the game's rep with microtransactions among other bad choices, and the fact that Multiversus is still in beta phase obviously doesn't help either. I'd be surprised if the "Fighting Game of The Year 2022" (🤣) survives for atleast two weeks when it relaunch next year.

About time Amy's official playable in the classic mainline games came along, should have been in the original Origins though.

And while we are on topic, Superman has been needing his own solo game again for a long time now. The last Superman game was in the mid-2000's if I remember correctly and said game was just the, unsurprisingly, awful title based on the Superman Returns film.

The second I learned the game is PvP and online only was the second I went 😑... while slowly shaking my head at Capcom.

Surprise, surprise. S-E's unrealistic sales expectations strikes once again.🙄 That said, I'm not shocked at Forspoken as the game was lackluster to say the least.
Valkyrie Elysium & Star Ocean TDF aren't surprising either but its still too bad imo. I actually enjoyed them despite their flaws.

Along with the free update to Fight'N Rage this made my day.

@wiiware @ManifoldCuriosity: Going by everything seen so far, I would say Rising is basically a major update that is treated as a sequel/new game. Just my opinion though.

Of all the pre-FighterZ fighting games within Dragon Ball games the Budokai Tenkaichi series is the one I remember the best.
I can only hope the new installment is good, especially after the success of FighterZ which I'm sure it will be (unfavourably) compared to, unfortunately, by a lot of people.

Don't see how this debate is so 'controversial' or something new for that matter.
As for me, while I generally go linear, it really depends on how the game is made as there are good and bad examples of both types.

If MK12 was in the SoP presentation it would have been the highlight for me. I still would have preferred Injustice 3 but I guess WB don't want it to steal the attention from SS (considering that game also features a "evil Superman" story, among others reasons).

If my last shred of interest wasn't already lost long ago this would have done the trick.
Between this and the idiotic DC high-ups' decision to have all future games be part of DCEU/DCU's shared media universe this is not a good time to be a DC games fan.
