The most confusing part of the increase to $70 games this generation is that almost 4 years later it's still not clear if a full priced game is $60 or $70.
I had no expectations as Bioware is a husk of its former self. Hard to expect them to meet the quality of their ps3 era games when it's practically an entirely new team at this point.
I feel stupid buying the DLC assuming the frame rate would be fixed by now. While enjoying the game, playing this at launch gave me quite a bit of motion sickness to the point I couldn't play for more than an hour at a time (and this is coming from a VR enthusiast.)
Walkabout Mini golf is amazing. Usually not a big proponent of DLC, but their additional maps are top notch. If you are to buy just one, I'd highly suggest the Meow Wolf one. Visually spectacular and some very interesting new mechanics as well.
Since the #1 would be obvious I was tempted to vote for either PoE2 or Monster Hunter. Honestly PoE 2 early access coming to ps5 might be the best surprise for me. But who am I kidding. Astro Bot looks amazing!
Not my style of game, but the gameplay looked solid. Definitely was expecting far worse than what we saw. Always a roll of the dice if games like these take off or not. Probably why Sony is hedging their bet with a dozen other live service games in the pipeline.
@Nem pretty much for that reason I try to make sure people are aware of the Cold Steel series and to treat it as two games instead of four. CS1&2 and CS3&4 are essentially just two mammoth games at least from a narrative perspective.
Yet another Persona 5 spinoff game. In all seriousness I didn't know the author's name was Leblanc. Nice nod adding not only Arsene and the Phantom Thieves but also the coffee shop named after the author.
Hmmm $130 to play on time with all available launch content, $70 to play 3 days late, or $20 when it's inevitably going to be on sale 2 months after launch with many bugs patched out. Always an easy decision with Ubi.
Definitely remember having this thought back in 2014. Pretty sure Doom (2016) and God of War (2018) broke those databases the same way though. So we will just have Madden 25 (2014) and Madden 25 (2024).
It wouldn't be a true Final Fantasy ending if there wasn't room for interpretation. One of the aspects I love about the series. I'm excited about all the theory crafting that's bound to happen over the next three years.
I actually tried playing it a few months ago (never played the DLC), but honestly I think this type of game design has passed me by. Felt the same with Starfield as well.
I really enjoyed watchdogs 2. Was excited for legion, and the prospect of open world London, but the previewing of it being a grandma simulator along with subpar reviews made me forget about it quite quickly.
@tselliot was just a joke that with long patch notes, and the only thing a lot of us are waiting for is a 60 fps patch, that Everytime there's a FF16 patch just quickly search to see if this is the patch that gives us 60fps. It isn't, so the waiting game continues.
Top 3 games are so well deserved. What an absolute banger year. Hoping there aren't too many more releases (Hellblade 2 and Trails to Day break all I can think of now). Plan to get to Balatro soon, and will pick Unicorn Overlord up maybe by the summer.
@Stevemalkpus this has bugged me since PS Stars started and I hear people brag about getting games for points. Why spend 15,000 points on Sekiro when you could redeem for $60, and then buy Sekiro for $15 when it's on sale every other month. The only argument that kind of makes sense is for new games. Essentially you get them a little cheaper as you don't get charged tax when buying with points.
Rebirth followed closely by Infinite Wealth for me. After a few attempts I have to realize DD2 ain't for me. Excited to try Balatro, Unicorn Overlord and probably a dozen other games on that list.
60fps all the way. The difference between quality mode and performance is so small visually that I barely can tell a difference. However give me a controller on something running 30fps and it's a deal breaker. Need to be 60fps and there's no excuses for games to not run at 60 anymore.

Re: Preview: Hello Kitty Island Adventure Could Be the Best Alternative to Animal Crossing on PS5, PS4
And here I thought it was an alternative for World of Warcraft. At least Butters thinks that way.
Re: Hidetaka Miyazaki 'Knows for a Fact' FromSoftware Devs Want a Bloodborne PC Port
Sony wants a $70 remake to launch on both PS5 and PC. Similar to TLOU pt1. Would be a huge monkeys paw moment if the PC port is as bad as TLOU tho.
Re: Final Fantasy 9 Remake Is Almost Certainly Real as Another Database Leak Appears
You Are Not Alone scene in HD is worth full price admission alone.

We don't call them layoffs. We prefer the term surprise job displacements.
Re: GreedFall 2 May Not Be the Game You Think It Is
Hopefully the feeling of shooting in the game stays the same. Oddly satisfying with the rumble and sound effect in the original game.

Re: Imagine Earth Promises Sustainable Sci-Fi City Building on PS5, PS4 in May
This sounds amazing. Love me a good city builder and an intriguing premise to boot. PC version has an 83 on opencritic so looks solid.

As if publishers would ever reduce price. Reminds me of people thinking they would stop micro transactions in full priced games if they became $70.
