Amazon Prime has as many misses as it has hits, let's hope all these actors and all the money they are throwing at this project finally elevates Concord to it's rightful position as the undisputed queen of gaming. 👑
I did like a couple of the ❤️☠️&🤖 episodes they made and the Armored Core part seems cool, but keeping my expectations firmly in check.
Collectors be collecting and fomo is like a drug for some people. I kind of hate this trend of limited production of some versions of games to try and force a fake market of collector's items.
No matter how many "successors" pop up and wants a shot at the Disco crown, it's going to take quite a bit of luck and skill to catch even part of what made the original such a gem of a game.
Either way, to make a deep and interconnected game that has any chance to live up to it's legacy will take years of hard work to put together. Cream tend to rise to the top, so it'll be interesting to see who will half-ass it and who will deliver.
I bought a Series S, mainly for BC of previous gen games. Great value. The thing that stops me from investing more money in their ecosystem is that to me it seems like they are aiming for cloud gaming. I live in rural Norway, there's no way I'll get the bandwidth speed needed for acceptable streaming speed any time soon.
But if the rumored handheld they're working on is an actual console that plays most xbox games, that would win me over for sure.
I 100% agree with everyone saying the industry would become generally worse for all consumers if Microsoft exited the market. More choices = better.
Not surprised that an android excel at strategy games, what surprises me is that he seems to have improved his personality algorithm by several 0.01 percentages.
A wholesome story for sure, but knowing how sweaty the competitive Civ scene is I wish him good luck with that statement. 😁
I am sympathetic to the current voes of VA, even if I seldom enjoy overly "cinematic" games.
What I don't understand is why the industry relies so heavily of the US in this day and age. Gaming is a global market and I'm sure there are many hungry VA companies around the world that could deliver an flawless english dub.
In my opinion gaming would be healthier and cheaper to produce if it moved farther away from "Hollywood" not closer as they seem to want.
Glad it's pulled down again, who knows how many degenerates it would've created. We know all too well that without censorship gamers and nerds would afflict horrible acts upon the world. 🤡
We all know it, but that dosen't make it any less scummy. It's good that people shine a light in it and hopefully bring some changes.
It's insane to me how slow legislators are to react to the tech industry. But in the end I guess we're all just commodity. Abuse your consumers trust and turn players into payers. 💯
Still working my way through SH1. Then it's all about Metaphor: ReFantazio for the foreseeable future. Might pick up SH2R after that, but more likely I'll postpone it until the first sale.
My only wish was that Atlus would start letting us upgrade our games when the inevitable "super-complete-delux-edition" comes out in a couple of years. Kind of tired of having to double-dip to get the full experience. 😑
Risk of Rain, had it in my backlog for ages. It's a great little game, with a lot of fun synergies...but damn it's straining my eyes. Not very console/tv friendly, going to have to sit closer to the telly if I want to keep playing it.
Started up Silent Hill 1 on my Odin 2 handheld yesterday, it's amazing what they could squeeze out of the PS1. Oozing atmosphere, I can only imagine how great it would look on an actual crt screen
Ngl, it was kinda cringy how quick Kojima dropped him for Sutherland. For all his vision and creativity, he does seem to have an unhealthy thirst for big Hollywood names. 🤷♂️
@Bramble Yeah, I've heard nothing but praise from everyone who's given it a good college try. Sadly bullet-hell games just don't mesh with me. Which is sad 'cause there are a ton of great games in that category.
@NEStalgia Any day now. We'll all open our hearts and our pockets to the GaaS gods. So just you wait, this is only a lull. I'm sure Suicide Squad will pull off a resurgence like No Man's Sky and prove us all wrong...any day now. 😅
The Binding of Isaac is my go-to for a quick rougelike fix. This does seem like it has a much smoother co-op experience though. But since I bounced off Enter the Gungeon after just a few hours this probably isn't for me.
@NEStalgia Sounds like a blast, and probably a good work-out to boot. I've only seen some gameplay, but the real thing must be even 100x better. The wife has been wanting to try VR for ages, maybe an idea for a x-mas gift. 🤔
@TheDudeElDuderino It wouldn't suprise me in the slightest if this were to be the case. Funny how pro-consumer corporations get when they're behind. Competition is always a good thing, so would hate to see them shrink even more.
But seeing how wishy-washy they've been lately, who knows what next gen has to offer. 🤷♂️
Been meaning to look into Anno aswell (I know, a rare Ubisoft W), this might be the month for that...if it looks to have somewhat tolerable controller layout. Oooor get off the couch and get it on Steam. 😋
If I try to drown out Kathleen Kennedys screeching of "the force is female" and close my eyes to Ubis usual design by committee/checklist approach to games.
Then for me it was a mix of different impressions like:
The main protaganist looked boring with the personality of wet paper
Only surface level interactions with the world around you
Janky combat/gunplay
Stealth that looked as fun as an appointment at the dentist
Nothing about it seemed related to the title Outlaws. Too safe and "Disney"
These are just my impressions, so take them as such. It might've (is that a word lol? I blame the Norwegian school system 😅) been an amazing game to actual play. The vistas DID look cool, I'll give them that. 😃
@Shad361 Yeah, that's nothing new. I got a friend who played nothing but DayZ for 2 years straight. And I have over 1K hours playtime in Pathfinder: WotR.
But Timmys dream of evergreen mtx-games with no end is quite a different beast IMO.
Let's go! Can't wait to pledge my life to a couple of games for the rest of my life. Just link that sh*t straight to my brain and bank account so that they can withdraw cash based on my fomo-meter. Can't wait to imagine the jealous look on other depressed players as they see all the cool gear I totally earned.
Another epic win for Sweeny, Gabe must be steaming knowing he has such a brilliant opponent.
I never got to play this one originally so I hope it turns out great. As long as it's not 70$ and trusted sources gives it a thumbs up then I'll get it for sure.
Yeah, anyone who thought they'd actually remove him needs to contact me ASAP I've got some amazing bridges to sell. 😅 Not nearly enough time and on top of that the "modern audience" would tweet so hard that the earth would tremble. I mean just look at the amount of gaslighting. Ubi has laid their bed, all they can do now is to give that bowel movement of a game a good spit-shine and hope for the best.
The problem Sony has is that we easily thought this could be intended.
In my case I feel I have less and less control of my console for each generation. No way to customise/personalise, feels more like a broadband media-box that you rent than your own gaming machine. And the constant reminder that everything is just a license, that Sony (perceivably) can change at will, don't help things much.
Understandable, who wants to run the risk of getting the attention of corporate lawyers.
That's why you should always release things like this with instructions on how to make/update it and and release it far and wide. The hydra known as the internet can't be stopped.
Yeah, I'd guess that this mandate to cencor and change probably came from square-enix internal DEI (or equivalent) department or as a request from the localization company.
If we are to ever look upon games as a creative art form then we need to stop trying to cencor the creators or alter their work. It just gives off stupid "d'n'd-satanist-scare" and "jesus-against-violent-games" vibes.

Re: Report Brands Roblox 'X-Rated Paedophile Hellscape' for Children, with Inflated Player Numbers
As in real life, kids should not be interacting/talking with strangers unsupervised.
I generally hate overly hampered/safe communication systems in games...but when the target audience are kids - lock that sh*t down. 🤬

Stay pure our Aussie brothers and sisters. 😁

Re: Making Metaphor: ReFantazio, Persona's Immaculate Menus Is 'Really Annoying', Says Director
N00b developer, just slap on that default Unreal Engine menu and call it good. Extra points for Comic Sans font. 👨🍳👌

Re: Random: Internet Trolls Tried to Downgrade Our Silent Hill 2 PS5 Review Score
Some people seems to get so emotionally attached to stuff and makes it so personal that they just can't take the L without making a stink.
All most of us really want are good games, so that this is a satisfactory remake of a revered game should be a win for everyone.

Glad they managed to stick the landing. Too busy with other games atm, but getting this later for sure.

Re: Saber Interactive Partners with Paramount on Biggest Avatar Game in Franchise History
I hope it's a tie-in to the fan favorite & box office sucess The Last Airbender movie adaptation by M. Night Shyamalan. 🤞
I did like the original animated show a lot, accessible, fun and a lot of heart. Not sure how they'll capture that in game form, we'll see I guess.

Re: Epic Games Boss Says Firm Now 'Financially Sound', Following the Firing of Over 800 Staff
I'm waaay to stupid to understand how they can't be financially sound without firing all those people. Where does all the money go?
Or are we talking about "financially sound" for shareholders and investors, aka arrow must always point up, up, up?
Re: The Alters Gets Alternate Release Date, Sci-Fi Survival Game Delayed into 2025
Sounds like an intriguing concept and they do know how to craft engaging worlds/mechanics. Hope they hit a homerun.
Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Reportedly Has a Co-Op Game Mode in Development
With rumors of AAAA game Skull & Bones costing north of $650 mil and SW: Outlaws doing so badly it's no wonder they're feeling the heat.
Not sure how much a co-op mode will move the needle. But other recent games have had success with co-op, right? Right!? 😬

Came for the bad Britney lyrics references, left sated. 😁
Beat saber looks so amazing, if I ever get a VR set then it's the first game I'd get.
Re: First Review Scores for PS5's Metaphor: ReFantazio, Silent Hill 2 Are Glowing
Glad to hear SH2R has met expectations and Metaphor is shaping up to be a rare day one purchase for me. 🥳
I had no idea that Famitsu was the Japanese answer to IGN...oof. Let's hope other reviewers chime in soon.
Re: PLAY, the Last Bastion of PlayStation Print Media, Has Reached Its Final Issue
Many great memories pouring over gaming magazines, getting exciting news, analysing screenshots and trying out pack-in demos.
But truth be told I haven't bought one since the late 00's. The convenience and on-the-spot info of the Internet claims another victim.
May the staff land on their feet. 🤞

It's a bit silly and micromanage-y. But seeing as many IPs are getting absolute trash fanfiction treatment, I can't say I blame them.
Re: Lords of the Fallen PS5 Sequel Prioritising 'Elevated Production Values', More 'Commercial' Art Style
I remember playing the OG Lords of the Fallen (2014), it nearly singlehandedly put me off the whole Soulsborne genre lol.
Heard the new one was OK with some nifty ideas, but Remnants II took its slot for offbrand soulslike in my library.
If they can bring something new, apart from graphics then it might peak my interest.
Re: Wizard of Mod Arrives in Girthy Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 on PS5

Re: Sony's Live Service Push 'No Joke', A Lot of People Working on Horizon Online
Horizon: Concordian Legacy
But jokes aside. A co-op in Horizons rich world is not by default a terrible idea. Pedigree/history aside it's all about execution...and monetization.
It's also a two-edged sword, if this becomes a runaway success then singleplayer games from the studio might become much less of a priority.
Time will tell. 🤷♂️
