@LieutenantFatman Yeah I didn't notice any major issues on PC and M+KB works well obviously (there's a bug with vehicles where sometimes an armless version of the character will hang about, but that's funny rather than game breaking)
I didn't even mention everything I loved about the game in this review (there's a quest system that's kind of wild). But it may be worth picking up on PC if you have the means!
@tameshiyaku to be fair, Sony never got Into the Breach either 😅
@rjejr Co-op is not available, it's coming in a later update (probably when the PS4 version launches in November).
I'm ambivalent to Funko. I don't particularly like the look of them but the odd one is okay (I have the Proto Man one on my shelves atm). I don't have the rabid hatred for them that others seem to have though.
@Sveakungen @REAVERZINE @YoureTooSlowBro I did not take a point off of the review or anything like that due to MVC3 not being included. It simply would've been a nice extra for preservations sake considering base MVC3 isn't available anywhere. But rest assured it did not factor into my final verdict.
Rival Schools and Star Gladiator being excluded from Fighting Collection 2 is a way bigger deal anyway
@Westernwolf4 So my main thing is while they do go for the Arena Shooter thing on this, it isn't quite far enough removed from the Void Bastards DNA, so you end up with a slower-paced arena shooter that has a lot of downtime between segments due to the nature of the formula.
@shonenjump86 Oh my god, I completely missed that! For some reason it's hidden under the 'Hidden Colours' option in the EX settings, no clue why it's not a setting on its own. Thanks for the heads-up.
@Gamer83 Internally on my PS5. It's weird though every other game works completely fine for me it's just MVC1, but now I'm a bit concerned having not seen anyone else mention it.
@ATaco From what I gathered it doesn't seem like every civ can turn into any civ they want and rather there's predetermined evolutions based on player choice. I could be wrong however.
@GamingFan4Lyf it was a mission called 'The Relic' in which you had to grab a relic from a safehouse to negotiate with a faction. But it was mostly just combat encounters so I didn't feel the need to go too in-depth on it (can't bloat the word count!)
@Puppetmaster I'm not saying linearity is inherently bad, but personally, I'm a bit let down that a game whose main draw (at least in my eyes) is being able to explore the Star Wars universe and improvise against an overwhelming force was presented in a way that makes it seem like there's one set way to do everything. I'm sure people are going to absolutely love it! And again, this is a bit of a bad demo to show off the open aspects of the game, so maybe other scenarios are a bit more freeing.
@HeeHo @bighal Didn't intend on it being a "dig" at Switch. Its just the easiest way to bulletpoint when mentioning that the game has some visual downgrades in comparison to World or what you would expect a PS5 Monster Hunter to look like.
For what it's worth Switch is my main platform for Rise, I have no issue with the way it looks on there.
● Street Fighter 6 will have the highest metascore in the series (or maybe just off of sf4) ● Dragons Dogma 2 will get a gameplay reveal this year with a release date in the first half of 2024 ● Something Metal Gear Solid related will be announced be it remake/remaster etc
@belmont Hey, I only played the PS5 version, but Rhiannon who reviewed the game over at TheGamer did so on the PS4 version and said it ran really well. Aside from the pop in issues also present on the PS5 version
@Nyne11Tyme It ran solidly for me on performance mode, the couple of times I swapped to resolution It looked a lot worse on the framerate end but I didn't use that mode enough to tell you for sure.
I think the game looks nice! the environments (despite being a bit empty at times) look pretty. Which makes the pop in stand out that much more
@Sakisa I played on that mode, for the most part I felt like it was fine aside from feeling a bit fussy on the percise moments
@stvevan Yeah so I'll have to dance around it a bit but I liked it. Theres a lot of stuff in there that long-time fans will really get a kick out if (especially those who like the adventure games) Obviously it isn't quite God of War or whatever but if take it for what it is, it's solid
@KundaliniRising333 performance was solid in the 60fps mode. I never played in the resolution mode (because It's sonic you gotta go fast). Never noticed many huge drops. The pop in is bad and the motion blur is a bit ridiculous (I didn't mention that though, since it can be turned off)
@somnambulance My final save with all portals, keys and side stories was around 24 hours (give or take a bit for idling) if you wanted to just blast through the story it'll be over much quicker, but I HIGHLY recommend taking it at your own pace.

Re: Mini Review: Funko Fusion (PS5) - Bland, Cryptic Nostalgia Bait Lacks LEGO's Charm
@Kiefer-Sutherland That's the funny bit though, you CAN skip cutscenes sometimes. it's very weird.
You unlock them by going to the crown door in each hub and choosing a new one.

@bring_on_branstons I only had a PS5 available to test the game, unfortunately I haven't been able to check if it's any better on PS4
@Dalamar unfortunately not!
Re: Days Gone Director Roasts 'Small Game' Astro Bot PS5 for Deacon St John Cameo
Surely he should be happy his character is in a good game for the first time ever

Re: Preview: Civilization 7 Makes Some Bold Changes, and They're Probably for the Best
@nessisonett They said they won't all be political or war leaders, with some culture or science ones thrown in too
The natural conclusion I took from this is we're getting Limmy
Re: SNK vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos (PS4) – A Barebones Port of an Arcade Curiosity
@InfidelFrigidstraigh I do shout them out! But outside of Tessa those are all hidden fighters (Which I did mention as one of the highlights)
Violent Ken is so lame though

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Resident Evil 4
Everyone in these comments assuming Spider-Man is making the top two are going to be in for a shock when Gollum takes GOTY
Re: Game of the Year: Scott's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2023
Oh wow what a great and amazing top five I bet the person who wrote it is super cool.
Re: Here's Another Sample of Kiryu's New English Voice in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth
It sucks because Kaiji Tang's Ichiban Kasuga is absolutely phenomenal – as are the rest of his crew – but not hearing Kuroda as Kiryu is too weird
Re: RoboCop: Rogue City Is Much More of an RPG Than You Might Think
Having played the demo, I'm expecting this to be this year's Evil West
Re: Mortal Kombat 1 (PS5) - Good But Not a Flawless Victory
Here it is, any questions you may have feel free to fire them at me (just bear in mind that I'm not a pro player).
Also if Peacemaker gets added and doesn't have the 'Do Ya Wanna Taste It' dance as one of his finishers I'm coming back and taking away points*
*for legal reasons this is a joke
Re: Site News: Where's Our Mortal Kombat 1 PS5 Review?
@somnambulance Some sites did get it days earlier than us to be fair, I wouldn't dismiss all reviews out there!
Re: Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line (PS4) - Solid Rhythm Game Is a Love Letter to a Legendary Series
I'm dying for those Live A Live and Nier tunes to get added to the game!
Re: Mini Review: Fashion Police Squad (PS5) - Fun Boomer Shooter with Style to Boot
@After10Ben Boomer shooter isnt a negative term, it's just a term the FPS community has picked up to describe the Doom/Quake eras

Re: Feature: Our PS5, PS4 Predictions for 2022 - How Did We Do?
Going to make some of my own
● Street Fighter 6 will have the highest metascore in the series (or maybe just off of sf4)

● Something Metal Gear Solid related will be announced be it remake/remaster etc

Re: Game of the Year: Scott's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
@Dr-M I was not on here last year but if you're interested my top 5 last year was
5. No More Heroes 3
4. Returnal
3. Psychonauts 2
2. Guilty Gear Strive
1. Monster Hunter Rise
(If we're removing the non-playstation games add Village and Hitman 3 on)
Re: Game of the Year: Scott's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2022
@Quintumply I've not played Cult of the Lamb yet so I guess we'll call it even

@Gloamin I need to get around to Prodeus seems like exactly my type of jam
Re: River City Girls 2 Flexes on PS5, PS4 from 15th December
First one was my 3rd favourite Game of the Year that year. Just behind DMCV and RE2.
Can't wait for this
Re: Mini Review: Gungrave G.O.R.E. (PS5) - It's Definitely a New Gungrave
Despite giving it a 4 I did enjoy Gungrave, it feels like a new version of that PS2 game.
But yeah this isn't one I can in good faith tell you to spend your money on. I do reccomend checking it out on game pass if you have the means to!
Re: Evil West (PS5) - Dumb Vampire Slaying Fun Certainly Doesn't Suck
I've played a bit over the weekend and it feels like a lost xbox 360 game which I kind of love it for
Re: Sonic Frontiers (PS5) - Bold New Gamble for the Series Pays Off
@Dr-M If I had the means to I would! but alas.
@Sakisa Loving Sega's output atm but IMO no-one is outdoing Capcom right now

I could've talked for a lot longer than this, so I'm happy to answer any (non spoilery) questions you may have about the game
Re: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection (PS5) - A Radical Bundle with an Incredible Gallery
@Bu1ld0g Sure can, you can turn the borders off if you want to keep the 4:3 aspect ratio too.
Re: Review: Pac-Man World Re-Pac (PS5) - Solid Update On a PS1 Platforming Classic
@Jackpaza0508 Words can not express how happy I am that someone picked up on that.
Re: Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course (PS4) - Another Delicious Serving of Hard-As-Nails Action
@KidBoruto Not particularly. At least nothing overt. But I would be surprised if this was the last of Cuphead considering how big it's become.
