Re: Soapbox: Please Don't Let GTA 4 Rot on PS3, Rockstar

Shakybeeves

GTA4 means a huge amount to me sentimentally, I'll always have vivid and comforting memories of just simply driving around Liberty City at night in the rain listening to 'flashing lights' on the radio. It just felt so alive to me at the time and simply being in the moment, felt great. For some reason GTAV never hit these high notes of immersion for me.

Re: Talking Point: Was Gamescom Opening Night Live Any Good?

Geoff's passion for our favoured industry is commendable, he did his best, bless him. But yeh I think it's us Team Blue lot that are feeling underwhelmed. As we've just come out of the PS4 generation, where we were insanely spoilt by incredible announcements and releases consistently for years. It's all gone very quiet.... (Returnal was great though ey!)

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Delayed to 2022, Says New Report

Shakybeeves

Dont mind a delay, as I wouldnt have Day 1'd it anyway, due to the fact I've got too much glorious gaming on my plate already! Making my way through Metro Exodus PS5 edition and Blasphemous, plus still awaiting that PS5 version of Cyberpunk at Christmas (CDProjekt Red
xmas present?).

Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers

At this point Im starting to look like Im spamming the forum, but whilst we're on the gamepass front...I decided (as a PS5 owner) to see if I truly was missing out. So I perused through the entire gamepass library and the PSNow library. I did not see anything in the current GP library that made me go WOW I must sell my PS5 and go get a Series X, there is the 'promise' of divisive future titles such as Starfield, Fallout etc but they dont exist. And is everyone just ignoring the fact we still havent seen ANY gameplay of Starfield, despite apparently having been in development for years! PS Now and Gamepass libraries are similar in age quality etc, with yes perhaps a more regular refresh of the GP library/'promise' of more day 1 AAA drops. I find it strange all the hype its getting, if GP was a sub service with day 1 drops of IP's akin to Playstation Studios, yes it would be game over I'd own an xbox, I honestly dont think that day will EVER come, the creative pipeline is slow and waaaaaayyyyyy behind the Sony curve at team green.

@The_New_Butler totally agree very inciteful. Sony believe Playstation to have achieved god tier ahem* I mean Nintendo tier status with their fan base and whats that fan base, oh yes a cool 100million install base on PS4....And as much as Im having a moan about this Ghost of T situation, I bought both Returnal and Demon's Souls day 1 at £70 (dont regret either), so any moaning I've just had you're right is somewhat redundant. Lets be honest theres just something about PS IP's they're just special...I mean look at Horizon FW! I will be a £70 day 1ner again, so whos laughing in the end...I think they've got me 🙈

Re: Reaction: Messy Ghost of Tsushima Upgrade Makes PS5 for the Payers

Im starting to smell greed and feel particularly stung as a PS5 owner. Really interested in the new island (Ikishima) expansion, but I already played the sh1t out of the original campaign on PS4, they had my money day 1 preorder on original release. Now if I want in on the expansion I need to pay another £70.....ey? (I have traded in Ghost PS4 BTW and to buy it back cheapest I found was £34.99, so you might as well shell out the £70 for the Dcut at that point, e.g. 34.99 plus £30 to upgrade on PS5). This feels harsh and as a massive Playstation fan right here, starting to feel a little screwed....I have 3 kids not bottomless cash pockets! 🤪

Re: Reaction: E3 Is a Relic Desperately Clinging to Relevancy

Shakybeeves

Agreed it was cheesy (I really struggle with the overall americanised tone, as an english/irish man) lacked any meaningful gameplay content (Elden Ring was an exception and personal highlight for me) and what sickened me the most was the constant corporate politics being shoved down your neck. Take Two was PC gone catatonically insane, this was supposed to be a gaming event, I honestly dont know what happened. Personal and political agendas are everywhere in gaming press now and it has to stop, that's the place of newspaper tabloids.

Re: PS Store Sales Charts: Resident Evil Village Is Queen of the Castle

Shakybeeves

Returnal is incredible in my top list ever somewhere completed it twice over as Im grinding for the plat now. The second playthrough was one of the most satisfying feats Ive done in gaming. Completing it all bosses all areas in one run, no deaths is just insanely gratifying, after suffering on Derelict Citadel for hours the first time round. Making Nemesis look like a joke = my fave gaming moment this year!

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

Shakybeeves

Im an early adopter and frankly....I couldnt give a sh1+

Same old console.generation shift, I was an early adopter of PS4 and all I had to play was Killzone ShadowFall. This time ive had Demons and Returnal, the latter has blown my mind, hinting significantly at future possibilities. Plus a generous PS Plus collection, allowing me to finally play (and platinum) GOW, aswell as play the sh1+ outta Days Gone (completed that too), both had amazing PS5 boosts too, in particular GOW, just stunning in 4K.HDR etc etc... also Astrobot is never mentioned, it was bundled in with the PS5 for.£0 and felt like a truly next gen experience, due to the insane haptics and resistance.

I'm happy for now....a year or so out all of this will be forgotten and Sony Fanboy Army will rule the earth 😆

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Returnal?

Shakybeeves

I'm in the 3rd area, 2 bosses down. The atmosphere, particle effects, audio design, controller experience and gameplay are a 10. 9 score overall for me just for some other minor pickiness. If you compare narrative to other world class examples, perhaps not as fully fleshed out, as an example of pickiness.

Re: Returnal Crashes May Be Sony's Problem, Other Bugs Being Investigated

Shakybeeves

I havent encountered any issues of this nature, honestly having a superb time with this game. Personally I love the tension and high risk reward of doing a perfect run including the final boss. I haven't done it yet, got close though. But every time I feel like I'm progressing, be that through better knowledge of the game systems and combat or through new persistent gear. If mid-way save system is implemented, I'll probably just stick to current setup, should Housemarque provide this change as a difficulty option.

Re: Poll: Will You Be Buying Returnal?

Shakybeeves

46% the poll doesnt lie and I am in that majority vote. Not that I find this comments section toxic (you're not a bad bunch), from the comments section you would be lead to believe the opposite...

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Sold 13.7 Million Copies in 2020, 28% on PS4

Shakybeeves

Played a bit of the prologue and some side stuff, but then shelved it until the native PS5 upgrade. Can't wait!...as the potential of the game was obvious, the soft low res is what annoyed me most visually and the HDR implementation was poor (played back compat on PS5 BTW). The few side missions I did were fantastic and reminded me of the open approach to missions Deus Ex touted. But yeh once it looks sharper and performs better I'm there, the architecture of the city itself is like nothing I've ever seen in a game.

Re: Reaction: Why Did PlayStation Buy Evo?

Shakybeeves

Savvy money making business move.
Some words uttered by Jim Ryan echo for me...not an exact quote I'm paraphrasing, but the message being SIE frequently conside their 'portfolio' e.g. is there something for every taste.

Incredible industry leading single player narrative driven games - tick.
Competitive Multiplayer experiences offering diversity of choice - tick and TICK with the acquisition of EVO in mind. They now have an excellent way of marketing their platform whilst engaging the 'players' and pocketing the cash.

Like I said savvy.
