Megaman Battle Network 5, which is a nice nostalgia trip from childhood. And Trails to Azure after which I’ll finally be able to continue the series chronologically again.
@AFCC on PS4/PS5 there’s the Trails of Cold Steel saga - in total 4 here in the west. You could start with cold steel 1 - but last year Trails from Zero was released. It’s the prequel to this game, Azure. IMO you’d get more out of playing Zero before this. I myself started with Trails in the Sky (not on PS4/5) and have only played Cold Steel 1 of that saga. Hope makes some sense, is a tricky series to get into - but it’s wonderful.
@thefourfoldroot1 Stein’s Gate is quite daunting, but for me really worth it in the end! It’s a slow burn, but a good one. Game has several endings, which I didn’t see all of. The anime is really good adaptation too, which I watched after the game.
Too late for my time zone, but also don’t like all the talking and padding that usually happens during these shows. So, will watch afterwards and fast forward.
Still too early for me to say. Have been amazing so far, then I came to the Lost Sanctuary quest which for me is a drag. I hope there won’t be many more of these quests.
Replayed the last one for the second time and finished it yesterday, and jumped straight into Ragnarok. Have played an hour and then some today and what a ride so far! And even better playing during dark, Danish November day.
Played it first in 2018 but on off due to my studies; which probably was why I didn’t understand the praise for it back then, albeit I was thought it was very good. But now replaying it on PS5, and is truly special - there’s some special quality to it I find lacking in most games nowadays.
Just started my 2nd playthrough of the previous GoW on PS5. While I thought it was great back in 2018, I never saw the hype for it, I’m interested if my opinion will change this time. So far, it plays really great on the PS5 with the 60FPS just an extra bonus.
@johnny30 @johnny30 ahhh okay - gotcha, I’ve heard that about CS2 and Azure. By the time I’m done with Zero - I’ll prob need a longer break , then I’ll prob play Trails Sky 3 since I have the opportunity for that and then azure before following the games as released as well.
@colonelkilgore from a novice’s perception, I started with the Trails in the Sky 1 and then the second game. I skipped the 3rd game since I haven’t had the possibility to play it until now. So skipped into playing m Cold Steel 1. Am now playing Trails from Zero, which technically takes place before CS1 (/events in CS1 would “spoil” Zero). For me jumping around the “correct” way hasn’t been a problem at all - the biggest hike would be the callbacks to old games + old characters coming into newer games, but it is not a major distraction for me. I would personally start with Trails in the Sky 1 (I played on a PSP emulator with speed up which helps a lot) and see if you even like these games / world, characters etc. Conversely start, with Cold Steel 1 since it’s the beginning of a new arc in the universe. It’s a difficult series to get into for many I would say, but JRPGs are my favourite games + I love the expanded universe of these games.
@ShogunRok thanks - yeah, agree about the lack of necessity to play in chronological. But currently going through Zero and will probably need a break from Legend of Heroes Games after finishing this one. But Zero so far, very good.
Really enjoying trails from Zero so far. It has a charm and hook I don’t find in other games at the moment. I played Cold Steel 1 before this, and while Zero technically takes place before, it hasn’t been a problem for me. Would playing Cold Steel 2 before Azure be “ok”? I’ve also not played Trails in the Sky 3 yet, so might play that before Azure comes out.
@Voltan would make good sense since we practically call it ‘Odin’s Day’, slightly moderated, here in Scandinavia . Would’ve been nice for game coming on a Friday though.
Dunno how or why but I was able to download the PS5 version straight from the store without having to pay anything. I had the PS4 version already installed, but will see if I’m actually able to play the new version upon release.
8/10. Was great but to me was never something out of the extraordinary. The story was ok, but a lot the the character development in terms of you becoming a ghost felt “disconnected” from the story, for me at least.
Only about midway through Trials in the Sky SC, but guess there’s no rush to get to the end of Cold Steel series as I want the whole experience. Nihon Falcom is slowly becoming one of my favourite developer, and their music is awesome!
@Blacksmith1985 I like the combat in Valhalla, albeit it’s not amazing or anything. It is a bit generic, but I found it fine for this type of game. I’ve never played Dark Souls, only a bit of Bloodborne, so I couldn’t tell - I do think though that the general consensus would be that DS has better combat.
Fell off the first time playing HZD but am currently giving it another go. I really like it, but otherwise don’t see what’s so special about it. To me Sony first party games are generally great, but they’re also mostly 8/10 kind of games for me.
Played it for about 20 hours, but didn’t really click for me. Then after a while I decided to return and decided to play in Japanese. For some reason it suddenly clicked, and I like it much bette now. Also, if anyone’s played Steins;Gate, main character VO voices Ryuji in the Japanese which instantly increased my liking towards the game too!
As someone who doesn’t have a particularly great pc, never had an Xbox, don’t really care about 4K/no 4K tv at the moment anyway - I’ll get the Series S. PlayStation still have superior exclusives - and I believe they’ll continue to do so in the future - but I’ll wait for an eventual PS5 Slim, and in the meantime get me a “Netflix” gaming maschine until then.
Anything Red Dead or GTA, I’ll happily splash my cash at launch. Otherwise, I’ll wait. Sad for us Europeans. In Denmark, games prices are already nearly 70 usd at launch for physical copies. PS Store is a joke as new games are already about 80 usd. Also, the pattern has become quite clear in recent years. Wait about 3-4 months, and games go on sale + they have been patched during that time.
Series S along with gamepass and now EA Play has really caught my interest. While I’ll get PS5 eventually I think it’s time for something new. Xbox S price point and services really entice me and unless PS5 completely blows me away with cheaper version and overhaul of PS Now+Plus, I’m just not interested. PlayStation are exclusives king, but what Microsoft offers is really impressive.
Crash Trilogy. I’ve seen it several times that a prequel of a games was released as Plus the month before or even the same, so would be plausible. Otherwise Yakuza 3-5 trilogy, but probably too early yet
I love how “Virtual Sim” is being branded as something new when Fifa09 back on the wii had pretty a similar feature, but has been non-existent ever since.

I’ll keep a lookout for this title.
