No PS5 Pro for me. When compared to past generations, this one has really been quite awful. Looking forward to the next Nintendo, and hoping Sony & Microsoft get themselves sorted out.
I'll probably get Silent Hill 2 unless they have TOTALLY botched it, which doesn't seem to be the case based on what we've seen so far. Dragon Age could be interesting and the Warhammer game sounds fun. Astrobot sounds good but I wasn't exactly blown away by the one that came with the PS5 so we'll see how much of an improvement it is.
Otherwise it's the new Zelda on Switch for me, I think, if the performance is a little better than Links Awakening.
I played this several years ago and got really bored after a while, but figured Iād try it again this week. Played a couple of hours and I havenāt a clue whatās going on, canāt even read the map properly. Iāll read through this guide!
Incidentally, I am playing the free to level 70 version, but because I already had an account which I paid for previously, I am locked out of this version even though I didnāt hit level 70 when I was a paying subscriber. Canāt even just make a new SE account, as itās tied to my PSN. Had to make a new PSN account just for this and then a new SE account š¤·āāļø
@nessisonett I have talked myself out of it reading these comments and I am going to get Sea of Stars instead, probably a better Final Fantasy game! Still, I will play 16 one dayā¦
Itās been on my radar since launch but just have not got round to it. Might pick it up today or over the next couple of weeks. Iāve no idea if I will like it or not, based on everything I read. Canāt imagine telling 12 year old me that, but there you go!
Too familiar wouldn't be a problem if the base game didn't quite obviously run out of steam a bit before the end credits. It's a great game of course, but it is at it's very best in the earlier sections. If it is going to drag on, and then serve up another 20-30 hours of the same loop, it's a fair comment.
Sounds like Sony are fully aware itāll be a massive money spinner so itās more a case of timing than anything elseās, and of course, if a full remake is on the cards that all feeds into it too. Itāll happen for sure. A proper sequel would be much better, thoughā¦
Glad to hear itās a good time. I always enjoyed the story in Destiny, and some of the locations you visit are incredible. No point in trying to catch up, itās one of those āyou had to be thereā experiences, and better for it really. Iāll have watch it all on YouTube.
@DrVenture69 Glad to hear you rate it as highly as Fez, itās the reason I got it. I was super hooked on that game. (listening to the Fez soundtrack on YouTube now, actually!)
I reinstalled Diablo 4 and have been having a good time with it this week. I got super bored of the story last time I played it, so I started a new character and skipped the campaign. A lot happier!
Also, the big new loot 2.0 update this week has reworked things. Everything seems better from my perspective, and from what I have read it is being taken positively by the fan base. No news story on here about it, though?
I also got Animal Well, although havenāt really got into that yet.
Wanted to give Inquisition another shake last week, thought it'd be Ā£3.99 or something but they still want Ā£34.99 for it! (Or Ā£31.49 with an EA Play sub!)
I finally pulled the trigger on Prey (was very impressed by the demo way back when but just never picked it up). A few hours in and it seems like Ā£5 very well spent, itās almost everything I want in a game, really.
That said, I donāt love the art deco style of the space station, Iād prefer something more rough and ready like the Ishimura or the Sevastopol from Alien Isolation.
@ShogunRok sorry, I didnāt read what you said properly. I thought you said the PS4 version used standard, where as the PS5 version used ultra.
The textures look pretty good on performance based on the photo though, so sure, I could imagine not much further improvement in quality modeā¦ and it seems like a pretty nice upgrade either way.
@ShogunRok I watched a video yesterday and was pretty impressed with the texture improvements, at least on some objects. I assume below is the difference between āstandardā and āultraā?
Iām more than glad Larian dropped it, I just want to see them return to the world of Divinity. As for Obsidian, I just want to see them on Pillars 3ā¦ come on!
Havenāt played Destiny in forever, Iām still very fond of it though, and had some great times playing it. It had its fair share of missteps and problems.
Iād be rooting for a successful Destiny 3, for sure!
Kinda interested in this one, even though I didn't gel much with the first game. Will wait for these performance updates, though. Would be silly not to at this point.
(Does this one have overworld music, or is it mostly silent like the first game??)
Iāll be playing some Pillars of Eternity 2. 80 or so hours into my second run, I really love this game. I do need to go back to number 1 and get that finished. And then just hope one day they make a 3rd one (yes, Iād buy an Xbox for it if necessary!)
@Northern_munkey It matters because in the meantime Sony want to sell standard PS5's. If it becomes common knowledge that a new unit is on the way people will understandably sit tight for more info. At best, anyone on the fence over a PS5 will definitely be put off a purchase until they hear more about the Pro now.
It simply throws a spanner in the works of their expensive day to day marketing operation. It's pretty understandable that they would want to come down hard on this, not just because of this but potential future leaks, too.
Not that I care, more power to the consumer and all that.
@Rosona there was a small tunnel I could swim through in the bottom of a water pit. Somehow I completely missed it the eight-odd times I had passed by it the night before. That sort of thing is really my experience of Tomb Raider back in the day, the best thing to do when stuck was just stop playing as nine times out of ten the solution is found almost straight away when you pick it back up again. Frustrating, but there really isnāt anything quite like itā¦.
I am slowly chipping away at Tomb Raider 2, although stuck near the end of Venice right now. I spent 2 hours accomplishing nothing on it last night, just doing circles. Iām hoping to start playing it tonight and find the solution within 10 minutes because that would be absolute classic Tomb Raider right there.
No, and I don't know if I will ever get round to it, to the extent I am considering looking up the story now as I am keen to hear what they have done with it... hmmmm.
@get2sammyb I really don't understand why youād expect them to put all their cards on the table, and commit to exactly what the deal will be moving forward.
Itās obviously a case of reading between the lines.
I really doubt they could be more definitive even if they wanted to be.
What I got from it is simply that anything and everything is potentially up for review on a case by case basis.
Edit: it does seem strange that they donāt just confirm the 4, though, to avoid further speculation.
