Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 478

Another bank holiday huh 👍🏻

I’ve been up since 5, bike ride done and dusted and now I am a bit knackered. Probably go back to bed for a bit and hopefully play some Zelda later on. Enjoying it but not exactly “into it” as struggling to find time for extended sessions. Would like to grab a beer outside at some point since the sun in shining. Have a good one!

Re: Rumour: Naughty Dog's Troubled The Last of Us Multiplayer PS5 Project Was Sniped by Bungie

@practicein2021 “Naughty Dog released a small multiplayer game as expansion to their popular single player game. It seemed like an afterthought, just a bonus - but people were playing it for 10 years! Without any patches, updates, skins - just because of gameplay. And when new multiplayer game was announced, everyone got excited, even though the studio showed us nothing.”

Without being too cynical, that’s probably the issue - they need to be able to effectively monetise it, not just have a dedicated pool play it for years for free. And there are so many competing alternatives these days, not so when Factions was a thing.

Re: Sony Significantly Scales Back Development of The Last of Us Multiplayer for PS5, Says Report

That’s interesting.

Hard to say mismanagement etc, since deciding it’s not working out and stopping is sometimes good management. As good as ND are with single player games, and despite best intentions, live service games seem like a different beast and Sony should absolutely be taking onboard Bungies input as they have been rolling around in the mud for 10 years now.

It’s how we avoid more Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s, really.

Re: Feature: PlayStation Showcase Biggest Winners and Losers

I’m totally cold on the MGS announcements. I don’t know what it is, maybe I have just played them too much.

Having access to the originals on PS5 is cool, to be fair, as I still would like to be able to play them from time to time. But really these games should be available by default along with the many other PS1 & 2 classics by now, it shouldn’t really be a huge deal.

As for MGS3 remake, I get some people call it the best but for me it didn’t really live up to the hype at the time. Some annoying systems, story was a bit meh, the (mostly) awful bosses. I guess they’ll polish up and streamline the gameplay but I could really take it or leave it as things stand. Would like to see some gameplay.

Re: Final Fantasy Could Ditch Numbers for Future Instalments

kyleforrester87

Errmmmmm… I guess it makes sense to be fair at this point. I’d prefer not, but there are so many spin offs already and online versions that shouldn’t really be numbered they might as well just drop the numbering at this point.

I think non-numbered Final Fantasy games probably don’t get as much attention, though. So basically, they will do it when there is more to to gain financially. Which might be a while, since people get so hype about a new numbered entry.

I’m playing Zelda when I can, I don’t have huge chunks of time to dedicate to it right now which is a bit of a problem as I just end up running around collecting things for an hour - ideally I need to sink 8 hours into it in one go to really get going! I’ll try to get through the easy to find shrines to get my hearts and stamina up as much as I can.

Re: Oh No, the Bloodborne Remake Rumours Have Returned

kyleforrester87

Someone on here said Bloodborne remake to launch PS6. At first I thought nah but actually it might make sense, enough time would have passed, similar to Demon Souls for sure. Otherwise to be released in conjunction with PS5 Pro? Perhaps too soon, but a strong possibility. I think it’s a given at some point though, hence it’s been shown no love at all with no upscaling/60fps patch, etc.
