Persona 3 is complete and now I'm blasting my way through Demon's Souls. I've put rather a lot of time in over the last week beating 2-2, 2-3, 3-2, 3-3, 4-1 and 5-1. I've also specced out the route to the boss of 1-3 and made limited progress in 4-2 and 5-2. As far as I know, the end is in sight beyond those areas.

I have zero platinums. It will probably remain that way for a long time if not indefinitely. Despite that, having only been a PS owner since the middle of the year I too have revised my opinion on trophies. Whilst I don't agree that they're a must have for any platform (I don't miss them on Switch), it is quite fun to see them pop up as you make your way through a game.

(I don't foresee having any platinum trophies mostly because on the whole I play through the main campaign of a game and move on. There are too many games I want to play!)

Probably mostly more Persona 3. Still a way to go but getting there now I think. Just about to hit December. Tartarus is starting to become a bit of a drag. Just hit floor 180.

Outside of that I will play some Demon's Souls. Currently stuck on Armour Spider. I've not really been in the right frame of mind for the game this last week. Thinking of starting something else, perhaps ToCS 1 or maybe I'll pick up Yakuza Like A Dragon (would be my first entry in the series).

As a relatively recent entrant into the world of owning a PS (buying both a PS4 and 5 this year) I've been wondering about getting one of the PS3s which also plays PS1 and 2 games. Mostly I'm interested in checking out Xenogears and Persona 3 FES. Probably both of which are incredibly expensive to acquire.

Re: Poll: Is the PS5 DualSense Sony's Best Controller Yet?

mcdreamer

@nessisonett I much prefer the Pro Controller over the DS4 too. The DS4 is fine, but it doesn't match the comfort of the Pro Controller. The DualSense feels much more like the Pro Controller and so easily beats the DS4. I can't say whether I prefer the DualSense, but it's very close.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the PS5 UI?

mcdreamer

@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah, there's certainly a lot they could do to improve the navigation of the eShop on the Switch. Whilst I don't mind the store being an app, it's certainly an interesting idea to have it integrated into the UI. Will be interesting to try that out on PS5 when I'm buying Demon Souls on day one!

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the PS5 UI?

I voted that I "like" it, though mainly because I'll ignore most of the new features. The only things I want from a console UI are game launching and access to a store, though the store being another app isn't exactly a problem.

The Switch has the best UI going at the moment. Lightning fast, no bloat. I do wonder how much time people are really spending in the console UI vs in games given how important it seems to be. The demands for features on the Switch side especially seem to be near continuous.

Pushing further on with Persona 5 Royal. I’ve just beaten a major boss and imagine I’m close to starting the bulk of the new content in Royal. It’s my first time playing the game and I still have no idea where the story will go! At the rate I’m going I’ll probably complete the game within the next couple of weeks.
