A bit spoilt for choice after yesterday! I now have FF7R to dig into, on top of being part way through both Demon's Souls and Persona 4 Golden. Also got Ys Origin and Metroid Samus Returns to start too. Will be a lot of gaming this weekend!
@KidBoruto Yeah, I think it'll most likely be along those lines if it happens. Like the HD version of Persona 4 Golden that released on PC earlier this year. I'd be perfectly happy with that. To be honest, after playing P3P on my 49" TV, P4G as it stands on the PSTV looks pretty good!
Persona 3 is complete and now I'm blasting my way through Demon's Souls. I've put rather a lot of time in over the last week beating 2-2, 2-3, 3-2, 3-3, 4-1 and 5-1. I've also specced out the route to the boss of 1-3 and made limited progress in 4-2 and 5-2. As far as I know, the end is in sight beyond those areas.
I have zero platinums. It will probably remain that way for a long time if not indefinitely. Despite that, having only been a PS owner since the middle of the year I too have revised my opinion on trophies. Whilst I don't agree that they're a must have for any platform (I don't miss them on Switch), it is quite fun to see them pop up as you make your way through a game.
(I don't foresee having any platinum trophies mostly because on the whole I play through the main campaign of a game and move on. There are too many games I want to play!)
@Iroha I finished P5R too earlier in the year and have about 10 hours clocked in P4G. After I've finished all three games I'll be going on to the two Persona Q games.
Probably mostly more Persona 3. Still a way to go but getting there now I think. Just about to hit December. Tartarus is starting to become a bit of a drag. Just hit floor 180.
Outside of that I will play some Demon's Souls. Currently stuck on Armour Spider. I've not really been in the right frame of mind for the game this last week. Thinking of starting something else, perhaps ToCS 1 or maybe I'll pick up Yakuza Like A Dragon (would be my first entry in the series).
It does look like he's reading this, and he does start and stop in some interesting places, but overall not a bad attempt at all. If he's reading romaji then he's going a pretty good job of the pronunciation regardless of the overall flow.
As a relatively recent entrant into the world of owning a PS (buying both a PS4 and 5 this year) I've been wondering about getting one of the PS3s which also plays PS1 and 2 games. Mostly I'm interested in checking out Xenogears and Persona 3 FES. Probably both of which are incredibly expensive to acquire.
@nessisonett I much prefer the Pro Controller over the DS4 too. The DS4 is fine, but it doesn't match the comfort of the Pro Controller. The DualSense feels much more like the Pro Controller and so easily beats the DS4. I can't say whether I prefer the DualSense, but it's very close.
I played Eternal on my PC. FPS just equals mouse and keyboard to me. However I played Eternal on an Xbox recently and it was surprisingly controllable. As a result I’m tempted to pick up the standalone version of this DLC for the PS4 instead.
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah, there's certainly a lot they could do to improve the navigation of the eShop on the Switch. Whilst I don't mind the store being an app, it's certainly an interesting idea to have it integrated into the UI. Will be interesting to try that out on PS5 when I'm buying Demon Souls on day one!
I voted that I "like" it, though mainly because I'll ignore most of the new features. The only things I want from a console UI are game launching and access to a store, though the store being another app isn't exactly a problem.
The Switch has the best UI going at the moment. Lightning fast, no bloat. I do wonder how much time people are really spending in the console UI vs in games given how important it seems to be. The demands for features on the Switch side especially seem to be near continuous.
I’m planning on keeping my PS4 hooked up and will play games at least towards the start of the generation. I’ll probably only play any with upgrades on the PS5.
Pushing further on with Persona 5 Royal. I’ve just beaten a major boss and imagine I’m close to starting the bulk of the new content in Royal. It’s my first time playing the game and I still have no idea where the story will go! At the rate I’m going I’ll probably complete the game within the next couple of weeks.
Amazon UK seemed to only have the disc edition. I don't mind too much but would have preferred the digital edition. I was 99% sure I wasn't going to get one, but Demon Souls being the only launch title which seems not to be coming to PS4 pushed me over the edge.
@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Thanks for the tips! I'm a new PS4 owner so must have just missed those sales. I'm still busy with P5R so could wait really, but the physical copies are also very tempting at those prices!

I'd been considering Yakuza. Even more tempted now!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 353
@KidBoruto P5R was my first proper go at a Persona game too, outside of a few hours of P4G. Definitely one I will replay one day.
Like you, I'm hoping for a Persona collection next year along with some early details on Persona 6.

Dark Souls Remastered also super cheap. Am I going to triple dip on this I wonder?
I'd love for the first two Cold Steel games to go on sale.
