Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Returnal?

roe

I've played just over 15 I think and really loving it for the most part. I've had 2 crashes which is frustrating but not seen any other notable glitches or bugs in the game.

Finding it difficult but fun and have yet to beat the 2nd boss (although got pretty close the last couple of attempts), I'm confident I'll do it in the next 2 or 3 tries.

I'd probably say it's between an 8 and a 9 for me at the moment.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 374

I've had my PS5 a couple of weeks now and really enjoying it so far. Returnal has been excellent in my first few hours of play so I'm gonna be running through that as much as I make time for.

I finished Sackboy yesterday too although there are still plenty of post-game things for me to do so may spend some more time going through that as well.

Re: Sackboy: A Big Adventure Becomes an eSport with PS5 Challenges

Sackboy is a really good game. My only real complaint would be that sometimes the movement is a little too slow. It feels like a bit of an added speed boost would make it that bit more enjoyable but it's a really impressive platformer

Nice to see them adding things like this as well for those that want to get even more out of the game

Re: Crash Bandicoot 4 Dev Enlisted for Call of Duty, Er, Duty

roe

I don't think it's necessarily that Crash 4 didn't sell well (although I wouldn't be surprised at the price point), but it's just COD is on a completely other level to almost every other game series now. It brings in more money than the others so those at the top will turn to it. It's *****, but that's our world

Re: Poll: Do You Use These Two Forgotten PS5 Features?

roe

I don't care for Accolades and most of the other features like that they've added for PS5. I quite like the UI and its layout, but a lot of the things like the Cards and that just aren't for me.

The dust catcher and removable sideplates will be handy in the future I think so while I haven't used that yet (I've only had it a week mind!) I'm sure I will one day

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Losing Ground to Xbox?

roe

It's probably been said here but PlayStation already have a decent answer to Game Pass in what they're doing with PS+ and PS Now.

It just needs a lot better marketing, and improved communication on what they're doing.

Re: Mini Review: I Saw Black Clouds - Interactive Thriller Won't Be Winning Any Oscars

roe

I'm always confused as to why the acting is usually just so bad in games like this. Surely there are competent actors and scriptwriters out that there that would love an opportunity like this??

The screencaps used in this review tell it all. Overly serious acting with a complete lack of emotion or reality to it.

I applaud Wales Interactive's commitment to story-based games of choice, but I feel like work could be done to improve their output.

All the games seem to follow such a similar tone as well. Would be nice for something different

Re: PS4 Masterpiece Bloodborne Turns Six Years Old Today

roe

I spent most of those 6 years going "nah, not for me. Not into fantasy stuff, not massively into action RPGs, not into a game being hard for the sake of it" etc etc.

Even after trying it a few times I quickly bounced out after an hour or so of what felt like zero progress.

And then, about 2 years ago, it clicked. What an absolute masterpiece. One of my favourite games of all time.

Happy Birthday Bloodborne!

Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?

I got one at launch but gave it to a friend as I wasn't too bothered about having it day one.

My plan was to get one around April/May time this year so I'm still hopeful that the stock issues will be sorted by then.
