Re: Random: Seven Years Later, No Man's Sky's Reputation Is Slowly Improving

tameshiyaku

Some gamers out there: "They can never be forgiven or trusted! They lied to me! wahwahwah!". The same with cdpr.

To be honest, No man's Sky was even a good game at launch, despite the small indie studio having been swept away by the pressures of crazy hype and over promising as a result. I fully felt for Sean Murray and the team in that unfortunate situation. The gaming community just has to acknowledge that we all are a big part of the problem.

Re: Rumour: Sony to Host Big PlayStation Event Next Month

tameshiyaku

If it weren't for Korean (stellar blade), Chinese (blackmyth WuKong) and of course Japanese studios (practically everything else worth playing) this gen would be very slim on AAA games. Western indie studios are also doing much of the heavy lifting, but the big studios have just been sacking left and right.

Re: Another Capcom Success as Dragon's Dogma 2 Sells 2.5 Million Copies

@ConsoleGamer86 doesn't mean many of those 2.5m will indulge in the mtx. Not a fan either but just to be real, those who are up in arms are a tiny yet vocal minority within a bubble and won't push the needle significantly. Personally I'd keep my outrage for worse offenders and just buy this on sale or 2nd hand.

On a sidenote, jimquisition still exists? Never been a fan of his brand of edgy.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing the Stellar Blade Demo?

@mkr also thought it was slower than I expected, but I still really liked it. The graphics and animation are amazing and while the soundtrack is somewhat on the nose Nier inspired, I still can't blame them because Nier just has such an amazing soundtrack.

Re: Not Everyone Is in Love with Dragon's Dogma 2 on PS5

tameshiyaku

While back with first game, the gaming community reacted more with indifference where the game found a small passionate fan base, these days you just have people who love to drag out the negativity endlessly and make a big fuss about it.

Haven't played it yet, but the first was also a good yet flawed game, which is fine. I assume this is more of the same.

I must say though, considering how few cared for the first for so long, suddenly you had a wave of people demanding a sequel from Capcom, and once it was announced it released very fast, maybe too fast.

Re: PlayStation Fans Torn on Prospect of PS5 Pro

tameshiyaku

@arsmolinarc absolutely agree as that is the only hardware move that would get more people to play more games.
A pro would have marginally better visuals, but I'm still bound to only play it at home and when the kids are in bed.
Especially now how the handheld market is heating up and where lesser powered hardware can get similar results with AI upscaling and frame generation, now is the perfect storm.
The only thing where Sony could mess it up would be if a new psp wouldn't support existing games, but would need ports.

Sony would also be selling more VR games if they'd let you use other VR headsets on the ps5, but for some reason they think that they can make their hardware sales profitable.

Re: Preview: Stellar Blade Is the PS5 Exclusive Enthusiasts Have Been Praying For

tameshiyaku

@MrMagic @breakneck @get2sammyb @MomsSpaghetti exclusivity deal money vs reduced exposure, doesn't hold the scale usually. Also, most hardware beyond the switch is very samey and a game taking advantage of an overpowered pc would never pay off. Don't get me wrong, every Sony/Nintendo owned studio can make games specialized for their console, but I wouldn't get tribal over where third party lays their eggs.

Re: Talking Point: How Do You Feel About the PS5 Pro?

tameshiyaku

I'd rather Sony follows suit with Nintendo, Steam and possibly Microsoft by making a (hybrid) handheld with a shared library.
I love long RPGs and the usual Sony cinematic single player games, but it's hard for me to consistently progress since I have to travel a lot.

I know many here are out for highest frame rates, resolutions, ray tracing and all those bells and whistles, but none of that has brought gaming forward significantly. I believe smart implementation of AI and creative game design will do so more than blunt Hardware power. Handhelds might not necessarily make that happen, but at least they allow more people to have the most important thing, more time and opportunities to play their games. Especially the Steam deck has shown that high fidelity gaming can be scaled for on the go.

Re: Sony Allegedly Pausing PSVR2 Production Due to Surplus of Unsold Stock

tameshiyaku

Another market Sony has lost me on.

I know Sony would never do this, but wouldn't it be smart to allow ps5 vr gaming with other VR goggles. Sony would improve software sales, which is the actual money maker in the long run. Devs can adapt for things as the lack of eye tracking and foveat rendering (which isn't as big a deal as Sony is making it out to be). I'm sure many people would enjoy this and forgoing the hassle of pcvr gaming setups.
