Ok so I am going to ask this here as well and maybe get some insight here,

Right now I subscribe to DirecTV and honestly I have noticed that I haven't been watching much tv. Honestly I mainly just use the DVR and watch the shows at a later date. The premium channel I watch is Nickelodeon and thats for Legend of Korra and I can probably find that online.

Anyway to substitute the viewing way of the shows I do record I was thinking of trying Hulu Plus but I wanted to ask if anyone knows the answers to some question I have about it.

First off do they show the current season of show? I noticed that that had Arrow (which is one of my favorite current shows) on Hulu but it only said 1 season 5 episodes, Now I have already seen season 1 and I can get it on Netflix but am I right and that is all they have they dont have the current season?

2. And if they do show the current season how often do they put the current show up to watch? Do they do it the same night the show airs? A week later? A month? the timing doesn't rally bother me cause as I said with the DirecTV I record my shows so I never watch them live anyway its just would be nice to know how often I should expect the new episode.

3. I read that a few years ago that only certain shows and then again certain episodes will only be viewable by PC and not mobile devices. Is that still the case?

If I do go the Hulu route I will be using either my Wii U or PS4 to stream to my TV

Any other information, pros, cons, that I missed will be great too.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I've been using Hulu+ for a couple years now. There aren't any standard  but here's some information that might help.

1. It purely depends on the show and the network of that show. Some shows (like one of my favorite new shows Brooklyn 99) will keep both new and old episodes up. They aren't on any kind of visible timers so we can expect for them to stay live indefinitely. Other shows (like the Goldbergs from ABC) will only show the newest 5 episodes.

2. Usually, within a week or so the newest episode is posted. It again depends on the network. Some will have the newest episode go live a day after it airs, others are made live sometime in the middle of the week (I think Wednesdays around 5am).

3. I think I've ran into this issue once. I can't remember what it was or why it was the case, but it was only viable on PC. I wouldn't worry about this too much as in the years I've used this, I can only think of that one instance (and I don't even remember it clearly).

Pros: lots of TV shows, well made interface, the exclusives are pretty good. All seasons of X-Files.

Cons: No real 'standards', movie selection is pretty lame, doesn't work on Vita, still advertisements, less selection than Netflix.

For the most part, the point of Hulu Plus is to show the new content. Most shows are added the day after they air. Paired with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and a TV antennae, there is very little reason for me to buy cable or directv. The only thing I am missing is ESPN and I'm sure they aren't too far off from offering me their content directly.

I would recommend signing up for the free trial and imagining you don't have directv just see if it has all the shows you need and ask yourself if you're happy with the content.
