Hours away from Mass Effect 3's official unveiling at tomorrow's Spike VGA Awards, EA's spilled the beans. A pre-order listing on the EA website's store has appeared for the anticipated sequel, and as expected it appears the game will almost certainly launch day and date on the PlayStation 3.
Mass Effect 2 hasn't even hit the PlayStation 3 yet (it launches in January), but it seems like Bioware are already deep in development of the game's sequel, declaring that the "Earth is burning" in the game's teaser text.
"Earth is burning. Striking from beyond known space, a race of terrifying machines have begun their destruction of the human race. As Commander Shepard, an Alliance Marine, your only hope for saving mankind is to rally the civilizations of the galaxy and launch one final mission to take back the Earth."
The information was immediately pulled from EA's website, but Joystiq managed to capture screenshots of the error. Someone at EA's probably packing up their office right now. Better stay tuned to the VGAs for that trailer tomorrow night all the same, we're certain it's going to be an exciting announcement.
