@Ravix I won't be getting that edition or pre-ordering until nearer release, but with the delay of GTA 6 it does leave a gap which I could fill with Ghost of Yotei.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
Seeing all the articles about The Hundred Line: Last Defence academy (And it not being on PlayStation) made me remember I hadn't bought the previous game from the studio so I got Master Detective Archives: RAINCODE +
Got the special Edition too for only £40!

I did boot it up for about 10 minutes @Ralizah getting ol' Yuma Kokohead (What a flipping name) onto the train.
It was pretty damn clean (Though of course I haven't really seen anything yet). Was that the only problem for you with it that you just didn't gel with it?
I'll be sure to give you a heads up when I play it properly (I dropped pictures of the goodies in the gaming tat thread)! Are you playing Hundred Line Defence?

@HallowMoonshadow Nah. Something about the pacing and characters isn't grabbing me like in Danganronpa. Although the muddiness of the visuals doesn't help. I'm tempted to get the remaster for Steam Deck and play at 800p60 on there at some point, though. Especially since it comes with all the DLC included.
My nephew is still deep into that game, so not yet (we do family sharing on Steam), but I did play the demo, which was a lot of fun. I'm clearing out a few games right now so that when I get into it, I can just focus on it for a while, considering it apparently has an insane amount of content.
Alien rogue incursion VR, in VR no one can hear you scream. 50% off which seems a great deal.
Also Rainbow reactor fusion VR which is a (I think) match three type of game, just under a couple of quid.
Plus Cosmic Star Heroine which is an old style Jrpg , seems to have been very well received and I like the vibe of the trailer along with its synth soundtrack. This was just over a quid so a bargain.
Only a PS4 version (yes wrong thread I know) but Iām sure it isnāt stressing the hardware even back then.
Resident Evil 4 Remake. Got it for only £15, looking forward to seeing the differences between this and the original.
I also bought digitally:
Zero Escape: The Nonary Games To scratch the daganronpa-y death game visual novel itch
The Darksiders trilogy. I've never played them and have always been genuinely curious about them (Plus Darksiders 2 having a free PS5 upgrade is rather nice)
Labyrinth of Refrain: Coven of Dusk which is a dungeon crawler by Nippon Ichi Software (The Disgaea guys).

So anyone here that has been around more than a couple of years will know I have some strange love for the Just Cause series⦠I honestly canāt quite put it into words (even though Iāve tried, with my reviews of 3 and 4). Well, I was getting a little anxious that I only had 2 left in my backlog⦠and what would I do to get my fix once that was done?
****ing sci-fi Just Cause is what! Never even heard of this until I just stumbled upon a review of it on YouTube. Having watched around 10 minutes of gameplay of Outcast: A New Beginning, sci fi-Cause is just what it looks like. Yoink!
PS Plus Premium 𫤠I use online play so having Premium for Ā£30 more for an entire year probably makes sense in some boring way š¤·āāļø better getting it while it's cheaper, I suppose.
When it seems you're out of luck.

Since I just got the platinum for Sea of Stars, Iām in an retro JRPG mood lately, so I just picked up the Lunar collection. Iāll probably start it later this evening once I get off work.
@Kraven
How about Cosmic Star Heroine? I recently purchased it(it is often on sale for a couple of quid/bucks/euros).
I havenāt played it yet but the reviews are good, no PS5 version so any purchase will have to go in the PS4 thread.
Really looking forward to seeing what Chapter 3 & 4 have to offer!
Hopefully the wait for chapters 5, 6 & 7 to be added to the game isn't gonna to be too long but Chapters 1 & 2 were a solid 6/7 hours of content (10 or so if you did everything) so the £18.99 price tag for is fine by me!

Pulled the trigger on Ghost of Yotei pre-order. I rarely pre-order, but I figured that this is a game I'll probably want to play as early as possible and I don't expect it will need months of post-launch polish to be playable, going by the dev's recent efforts.
@FuriousMachine Did you go digital or physical?
I was thinking about how my personal pre-ordering habits have changed recently. In the PS3 and early PS4 generation I routinely pre-ordered games. Of course all my game purchases were physical back then and there would be occasional shortages and they would run out of niche games. But even with major releases Iād pre-order and pick the disc up on day 1, or at the occasional midnight release when they would do that.
I now almost never pre-order and I was trying to analyze why. I think the creep towards digital is part of that. Although I still prefer a disc to a digital game, my tolerance for not having a tangible copy has grown. They never run out of digital copies, so I really never have to worry about not being able to find the game at launch. Thereās sometimes when I really want a disc though, usually because I want the ability to flip the game into the second hand market and recoup some cash, should I not want to keep the game.
Another deterrent for pre-ordering has definitely been what you alluded to ā the fact that most games are better experiences after a couple patches, and in some case the launch version of a game is downright awful. In previous generations, that was less true and a game didnāt change much from day 1 to day 100.
But I think the main reason I donāt pre-order as often is because of my enormous backlog. I didnāt have such a large library 10-15 years ago, so I played many major releases at launch. Especially the marquee AAA and first party stuff. I played Ghost of Tsushima at launch.
The last pre-order I did was actually Clair Obscur. And itās not because Iāve played it at launch, but the pre-order incentive on PS store was a 10% discount and when the reviews landed with such praise I knew I wanted to eventually get it, so figured I might as well save $5 whilst also throwing a little support behind a small AA studio project. I probably wonāt play it until later this year.
@Th3solution I very rarely go physical, unless there is some gaming tat in a deluxe physical edition that I really want (rare) and feel I can afford to "waste" money on (even rarer). So, digital for me, and also the basic version, as I'm not really interested in "exclusive" weapons, armours, etc. I will only go for a deluxe (or whatever) digital edition if it includes story/mission/gameplay DLC or the like, as I will typically buy that anyway (unless I wind up hating the game, of course).
A massive backlog is also the reason I almost never pre-order. Most games I can wait until they're on sale and even after I've bought them on sale it can be months before I actually get around to playing them. Some games hit the old excite-o-meter so hard that I will try to clear my gaming schedule so that I can play them at launch; "Ghost of Yotei" is one such game and the last one to do that was also "Clair Obscur" for me as well. I can't remember which game I last pre-ordered before that again.
EDIT: Re-reading your post, I was reminded that the last one before "Clair Obscur" was "Banishers", as I also occasionally will throw my support behind devs I like who typically don't see AAA sales numbers. I wound up not liking the game, but that's fine
