The Phantom Thieves are back yet again, only this time, they're testing their strategic skills in tactical RPG Persona 5 Tactica. Another spin-off based on the themes and characters of Atlus' seemingly eternal masterpiece, we want to know if you're sticking with Joker and the gang through their latest adventure.
Honestly, we found ourselves hoping that this is a final flourish for the Phantom Thieves in our Persona 5 Tactica PS5 review. We enjoyed the game, but it's becoming harder and harder to hold much enthusiasm for these side stories. "Consistently good during fights, customising your party and mastering its many stages is where the game is at its best. However, there's little to the title besides those skirmishes, and without any exploration or sense of character progression, this feels like the Phantom Thieves at the end of their tether," we wrote, awarding Tactica a solid 7/10.

Nope. They are milking P5 like insane at this point.
Plus im not buying the game knowing they have cut out 2 characters that was part of Persona 5, only to sell them as 20 bucks DLC. Kinda tired of Atlus's DLC bs at this point.
I'll probably play it via gamepass but currently i'm busy playing Super Mario RPG
Mine won’t come until next week. But I’ll just play aka get killed a lot with Sekiro. Can’t wait to play this though
I’ll give it a whirl on GPU, but it’s not one I feel I must play asap
Very tired of the Persona 5 world thanks to Sega milking it for every drop! (With no end in sight) Plus this isn't the same Atlus we knew in the PS2-PS4 era, I'm in no rush to go and support them day one anymore
Not playing it yet but it's my birthday next Wednesday and it's possible it may be a gift.Really looking forward to playing it even though I'd still rather have Persona 6.
I enjoy the world and characters so I'll be playing it. The spinoffs I'm a bit less warm on. I liked strikers cause it felt like an actual sequel.
Just starting playing it. I'm digging it so far even though the first two hours have been a bit tutorial heavy (as is usually the case with persona/strategy games).
I haven't really felt the Phantom Theives burnout and I think that's because I haven't really played any of the spin offs. I didn't play royal, and I only played about five hours of strikers which I unfortunately couldn't get into, so they're hardly over exposed for me.
I'll play it eventually but hopefully deeply discounted. I loved my experience with p5 but I want an actual new story with new characters, not another remix of basically all the exact same themes & character arcs with maybe one or two new things.
I was debating between starting this or Trails into Reverie and decided on Trails as I've been meaning to get to that one for a while now. I'm still excited to play Tactica when I get the chance though.
As for P5 fatigue I don't feel it too bad yet. I'd still like to see a P5 Arena at some point but of course I won't argue with getting P6 whenever it comes around either though. Atlus has more than earned my trust even if they make some boneheaded decisions sometimes with DLC. I'm sure whenever P6 comes around is going to be incredible.
I have been playing it and really enjoying it. AS someone else mentioned here, the Tutorial is "kinda heavy"!!
I also been playing it on my new PS5 Portable and have had no issues whatsoever except it took me forever in finding the Touch pad controls on the Portable so I could end my turn.
So far, amongst my favorite Persona5 game.
I will definitely be playing this over the Weekend.
Mine arrived today but its waiting till i finish Spiderman 2
I got several hours into vanilla Persona 5 when I first got my PS5, then a friend gifted me a copy of Royal, so I had to start all over again and got burned out. I'll play Tactica eventually, but I still want to beat Royal before playing the spinoffs.
I love Persona 5, it's easily in my Top 5 turn-based JRPGs of all time. Strikers was a fantastic mix of Persona and Dynasty Warriors, my favorite DW spinoff.
I've been watching a few gameplay videos of Tactica and I really want to get it in the future, when it's on sale. I also love the P5 cast, they're all fantastic characters. I do wish spinoffs would expand on them a little more though.
My nephew is playing it. I'll borrow it once he's done.
The gameplay looks fantastic.
I want more P5 just not spinoffs. Put them in college and make it a turn based jrpg with continuity and social links and I’m there.
Nope.
Persona 5 is one of the GOAT, but zero interest in Tactica
Yes I’m playing Persona 5 Tactica and no I’m not tired of the Phantom Thieves!!! I’ve been missing the gang ever since I finished Strikers! Nice to spend more time with them!
@LieutenantFatman yeah I wanted a follow up to Strikers as far as timeline placement, instead we got a non-canon (I assume) story that’s been put during the late parts of Persona 5 (so like in a split off timeline sense?)
I probably won't be playing it. I didn't really enjoy the bits of strikers I played, either. I'm not keen on Persona game spinoffs, though I appreciate why they exist and they should be made for as long as people want to play them.
At the end of the day P6 will come eventually, and its progress really isn't influenced by these spinoffs as I doubt much resource is being funnelled away from it at this point. If anything p3remake is the one funneling the resource and I'm not about to complain about that because p3 is my forever game, I adore it and I really hope the remake does it justice.
I'm not a fan of strategy games, so I'm on the fence about giving this a try.
