Who’s going to win Wimbledon this weekend, then? This author’s money is on Novak Djokovic (safe bet, sure) and Elena Rybakina, but it should be fun either way. Of course, if you’re not into tennis, then at least you’ll have lots of sunshine to look forward to – a heatwave awaits, apparently.

I have games coming out of my ears, frankly, but after spending the best part of the week writing our Best PSP Games guide, I’m tempted to dig out my old handheld and revisit some old favourites. I must have heatstroke!

This weekend I am planning to get a chunk of the way through what is just my second playthrough of God of War, of course brought on by the recent date announcement of its sequel God of War Ragnarok.
Short but sweet this week, we reckon the rest of the team is too busy eating ice cream. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.

I was playing Matchpoint Tennis but it's buggy as for some reason doesn't change equipment or appearance despite it showing in the menu and me saving. Everytime I start a match I'm still in the starting gear/Equipment.
Has completely ruined it for me I'm fed up with games having basic bugs on launch, hardly anything gets tested now.
Will just drop this and try Road 96 instead.
Deliver us the moon and possibly Gris. Had a bit of a gaming hiatus and will finally be able to try out my new purple dualsense that I got for Father’s Day
Returnal.
I'm surprised by how good this game is. Tough. So extremely tough. But boy what a game.
This is the first truly next gen exclusive game I've played and it really shows.
Forbidden West NG+ on Ultra Hard mode.
It's not as tough as I thought it would be. Playing with maxed out character and gear helps a lot.
Just powering through the main missions for the trophies.
I've just finished the very decent Deliver Us The Moon and it had a very bittersweet ending. Gonna polish up on some missed story data and trophies.
I'm also playing Ghost Of Tsushima for the very first time which is stylishly cool. Playing in Japanese for extra effect.
On PS5 - Nioh 1, finally made it to Region #6 (of 6) and am gunning for the platinum trophy still! Plan is to hopefully have this wrapped in next week or so, and then move on to Resident Evil 3
On Switch - just started Sunbreak and made it up for MR2 now. Still using my existing HR set and weapon (GS Narga with full Valstrax Armor set) which is doing ok for me so far. Up for group hunts if anyone else is playing! So far really enjoying the expansion, and can’t wait to start farming a new set and upgrading my weapons (+ new fashion of course ha!)
Phew, I don't even know. I've Finished Ghost of Tsushima main game, map cleared apart from the odd fox den and shrine but I'm not a plat hunter. And i'm going to leave IKI expansion for a bit, and there's a while until I buy something new.
So maybe crack on with a bit of Uncharted 2 from the collection, as I've left Nathan Drake hanging off the arse end of a train for quite a while now 🫣 Rented the movie for £1.99 on Amazon which seemed fair too, so watch that one night
Maybe see what content has been added to Far Cry 6 or AC Valhalla since I finished the main campaigns and everything of interest in them at the time.
Nothing too taxing, or time consuming 😁
Also going to have a little quiet prayer to myself that something Kingdom Come related is announced or shown soon, for Henry's sake!
Swordquest Fireworld weirdly enough, just had it delivered with the original comic so I'm going to try solve the puzzle for those that know what the game is.
Back in modern gaming I've just finished Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart so now will give Returnal a go
I played 3DS games that I didn't played for several years, to continue the last progress. 🙂
1. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates To Infinity
2. Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning
In the afternoon, I played PS3 games.
1. Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: Cosmic Destruction
2. Dance Dance Revolution
Started Wytchwood yesterday evening, will continue with that. I have also downloaded Werewolf, so will give that a go.
just got Holmes but then realised I still had some Moon deliveries to do 😅 all over the shop.
Still making my way through AI: The Somnium Files - nirvanA Initiative. Not as good as the first game, but I’m liking it a lot.
I wish i could say i'm trying to love returnal and that i'm cracking on with AC:origins but i cant because this morning i'm painting the decking and then after that i'm straight down the golf course...and i'll be playing golf again tomorrow..the weather is just so good at the mo..have a brilliant weekend everybody and enjoy whatever you are all doing..👍
On Ps5 Im playing Dying Light 2 unlocked most of the skill points, upgrading the parachute and doing side stuff. Finished Horizon Forbidden West story and the side missions so done for now. On Switch I just received AI The Somnium Files nirvana Initiative so cant wait to start that, loved the first
Finished the Story part of God of War 2018 last night, onto the exploration and Valkeries next.. will new game plus it too as there was a 3 year gap between me starting that last Boss fight and finishing it.. a 4 year old game looks ***** stunning on PS5 too.
The Artful Escape and Narita Boy on PS5 and Halo Reach coop campaign on XSX. Have a good weekend all!
@CJD87 good luck on your nioh platinum, regular smith customer trophy was a real grind to get 👍🏻
@ApostateMage Ooh, I was going to check out a walkthrough of Deliver us the Moon to get a feel of its vibe and gameplay before downloading. Maybe an autumn/winter game for me if it looks good. And I like an emotional story of that's part of it.
Enjoy Ghost of Tsushima, it's really, really good. At one point I almost started to burn out, but then the story really kicked up a gear! Definitely worth doing all side quests and named tales before moving on too fast with the mainline quests too, but it kind of makes you want to anyway without forcing you because of how it fits in to the narrative.
@kairu
Ghost of Tsushima on the back burner :0 have you no honour?
(Didn't think there would be GoT gifs like this haha)
The original Motorstorm on my recently revived PS3, together with myself and the misses rocking out with plastic guitars on the guitar hero games! What fun 😀
Still working through Ghostwire Tokyo on PS5...
Currently playing Lost words beyond the page and infamous second son on my Ps5. Lost words is a pretty awesome indie game. Very good and gripping narrative. The gameplay while being pretty original and fun is pretty simple. But that's fine since the story is so recognizable and emotional. Infamous is a pretty decent action game, nothing spectacular but enjoyable enough to try and plat it.
On my Xbox im still going through dq11. I'm enjoying that one very much. Everything about the game is just relaxing, the music art style and even though the story has its dark sides too still it feels very relaxing. Nearing the end of the main story now. After that I don't know if I'm going to do the post game stuff usually not into that.
Im going for the og ff7 platinum. So it looks like i'll be chocobo breeding for the next week or two.
@Fuzzymonkeyfunk Haha tell me about it, I’ve spent an absolute fortune on a ton of garbage from that shop… and the trophy still hasn’t popped!!
COD Vanguard (PS5) Almost completed battle pass 4, Grid Legends (PS5), Some retro stuff on PS4 Jailbreak 9.00.
Continuing Cozy Grove for which is a nice 30 minute log in each day to progress the storyline. Apart from that Im itching to start Ghostwire Tokyo. Enjoy the weekend all. 😁
Beat God of War 4 yesterday and trying to get the platinum now.
Besides that still trying to get the fallguys fortnite skin, thought I had until the 17th but apparently it ends the 10th.
Other than those I’ll probably start something new, thinking about final fantasy 7, wild arms or trails of cold steel 1.
Trying to get the Archeologist trophy in Outer Wilds🤦♂️
MHWorld. Game is so deep, still learning new stuff after playing for 3 years. AC Odyssey and maybe some GT Sport.
Danganronpa Ultra Despair girls. It’s a nice change of pace after the visual novels.
I’m currently hacking and whacking my way though the mark of kri, haven’t played it in 18 years so it’s like 95% percent new to me, plus trophies now yay!
Nothing. On holiday this whole week. I did buy Blade Runner so I'll be taking a break from CP2077 to play a different cyberpunk game once I'm back home. Question guys: do we know if 1st party games on PS Plus Extra/Premium are there to stay (like on Game Pass) or are they timed as well as the others? If they are permanent additions I might upgrade to Extra.
Still working away at Ghost of Tsushima, Act 1 done, spent a bit of time clearing the first island and fully liberating it. Couple of question marks left there but wanting to crack on with the main story again.
Still enjoying Far Cry Blood Dragon and PS+, bit of GT7 along the way too.
Happy gaming and enjoy the weekend folks!
I will be grinding credits on GT7, getting distracted and chasing foxes on GoT and maybe make a start on Deliver us the Moon.
Have a good weekend and happy gaming PS peeps.
@gollumb82 questionable. But I don't think there's any concrete evidence yet.
I'd take the risk first year for sure though, because I think if they do ever remove them, they will be back again.
I've already got my year upgrade fees worth with Tsushima, the rest is gravy 😋 if there's one or two big games per year it's worth staying subscribed if you'd be getting the essential tier regardless
I’m back into Returnal in a BIG way. Having not played it for a few months, I’d genuinely forgotten how gorgeous it is to look at and super fun it is to play. Easily one of the best Playstation exclusives around.
On Switch, meanwhile, I’ve restarted Breath of the Wild, which I’m really enjoying.
Miles Morales and probably GT7 once update is finalized; both on PS5 😍
Who needs new games with a brilliant back catalogue of games to play. Returnal feels special and TNMT is brilliant 👍🏻
I’ve arrived at the final boss of Xenoblade chronicles 3d. I would have never guessed I’d play my second most played 3ds game in 2022.
Once I’m done with that I think I’ll return to tunic, really enjoyed what I played of it but it has been a week or two, I hope I won’t have to restart….
Mainly Returnal thanks to PS Extra! Superb game with a very steep learning curve.
Then abit of MK11 on the side also.
@Ravix
I expected as much. I guess I'll upgrade and see if I use it more than Netflix (which I have been paying for since 2020 and barely use it for lack of time). Thanks for the input mate 🙂
Working towards the platinum in Ghost of Tsushima. That will probably be all.
Returnal and Judgement are my two SP titles and GT 7 when I'm in the mood for burning rubber.
😉
I like Returnal even if I'm not entirely sure I'm making much actual progress lol. It's hard though but not impossible, so far anyway.
Judgement is definitely something different for me but I'm digging it for sure, it's quite relaxing to play as well.
GT 7 continues to be a lot of fun, albeit in relatively short bursts.
Have a good one, folks.
I managed to finish all the main quests in AC Valhalla including all the dlc but I wanted a short classic AC experience again after that. So I decided to fire up that good ol' PS3 and started a game in AC: Liberation HD. It's alright. Obviously it's a Vita port to console so it looks kinda funky in a few areas but I'm enjoying it well enough.
Picked up the port of Zero Tolerance from the Mega Drive, replaying that. The graphics and design are very basic, but I still find the game has a unique atmosphere. Playing the original and will then move onto the included new sequel. Also revisiting Wreckfest on my Switch Lite, it's a very impressive port for a handheld console.
Nioh 2 with all the dlcs.amazing game. One of the best games ever made. Looks good on my ps4 pro.story is cool also.gameplay is amazing.i finish resident evil 4.wow what a game.this game is legendary.i also finish watching resident evil operation racoon city.i enjoy it.arcadegeddon is really good.the gameplay is good.music is funky and groovy.art style is cool.and im having fun playing solo and theres a story also.valkyria chronicles remastered i enjoy this games so much.the story.the gameplay art style.all is wonderful.ys 8 lacrimosa of dana.i know this game was good but playas.this game is amazing.assassin creed origins is amazing as well.plays and looks wonderful on my brand new 4k Samsung hdr tv 60fps smart tv.n.i.c.e. assassins creed origins is good.story.graphics.gameplay is really good.watching in living color.good times.sanford and son.saved by the bell.martin.word up son
Got the platinum in Crysis Remastered. Working my way through the Trilogy (just started Crysis 2) and really enjoying it. The graphics still look pretty good now (especially the second game) even though they were PS3 games, I think?
Finally unlocked the Darth Vader skin in Fortnite. Got the Indiana Jones skin yesterday too. I didn’t think I’d enjoy this season as much without the Jet Packs from last season but it’s been pretty good so far.
Played through all of the FF7R Yuffie DLC last week and really enjoyed it. Yuffie is such a fun character to play as, hoping she'll be available as a party member in Rebirth.
After finishing that I was considering trying to fit in FF15 before Xenoblade 3 comes out. I played the first couple of hours again and felt much like I did last time. There's just something about the game which leaves me cold. So instead, I'm now finally making my way through RE3 Remake.
On the PS5, I've been slowly making my way through Crash 4. It's pretty good, so far.
On Switch, I'm doing my usual daily stuff in Animal Crossing.
On PC, I've recently been going through Skyrim for the billionth time. I still adore this game mainly thanks to its incredible ambiance, legendary music, and great side quests.
Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag to start, love those pirates. Horizon Forbidden West, as the story is in a exciting moment, and Ghost of Tsushima DC. Started this week with PS+Ex, and this game is a work of beauty, in all aspects. If I find time, will advance a little in Assassin's Creed Chronicles China. I'm a little sick, so after the work is gaming all weekend, and bed.
@PenguinLtd Good luck with Defiled Amygdala and Watchdog of the Old Lords hahaa.
@Lavalera I saw that you had started playing Lost Words a day or two ago. I remember playing that on my Xbox last year when I wanted to just play something relaxing. It's not an incredibly deep game, but I did enjoy it, and I think making it essentially a platformer inside of a book was pretty clever.
I am ashamed to say it will still be FIFA22 for me. It's been 2 months now, playing the manager mode, It's massively repetitive, and the matches are arcady fun, but I don't know why I'm still playing it.
After wrapping up the DLC for Assassin's Creed Origins last night, I plan on starting up Uncharted 4 via the Legacy of Thieves Collection. This will be an other game I am replaying from the previous gen, but it will be nice to play it in 60 FPS and to see if I enjoy it better this time around as well. I was a bit disappointed when I played it back in 2016 and ended up liking The Lost Legacy more, but I'm hoping that was because of too high expectations given how big of a fan I am of the series.
I've been playing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, & enjoying it quite alot. The characters, writing, & voice acting are all top notch. The RTS battle sections are really fun too. I'm surprised at how much I'm getting in to this one actually. Have a nice weekend everyone!
@KilloWertz Yeah love the idea of the game. Had my eye on it for a while but never got around to play it. Seeing it on Ps plus and being in the mood to play some more relaxing games I decided to give it a go. Almost done with it now, after I finish I will get the plat since it's easy and then chose either to go back to infamous or play something else relaxing.
AC origins is next in line for me on Xbox after I finish dq11. Started it months ago but couldn't finish it. Played it right after valhalla and odyssey which I prolly shouldn't have. So I'm hoping I like it better after a few months ac break and in 60 fps mode
Enjoying the sun
@Lavalera Yeah, between likely AC burnout at the time and the fact that it does show that it was their first open world game in a few ways, I can understand. This was my second time playing Origins, and while I liked it better than the first time, it is still clearly my third favorite of their open world AC games. I still did enjoy it though, and I hope you like it better when you start it up again though.
As I type this, I'm wasting time not playing sunbreak!
Monster Hunter Rise/Sunbreak (Nintendo Switch) - I played the base game for about 60 hours when it originally released, but haven’t touched it in a year or more since. Unfortunately, I forgot that I deleted my entire progress from Rise so I have to start completely from scratch. This isn’t that much of an issue, but the endless amount of tutorials and dialogue in the beginning hours almost put me off from even playing the game again. Sometimes less is more. Other than the initial cumbersome hours, the game is still a blast to play. Hopefully, I can get to Sunbreak soon.
Diablo III (Nintendo Switch) - I’m halfway through Act II in the campaign and still loving every second of it. I’m hoping to get to Act III by the end of the weekend. This game is special, and I can’t believe how well it’s optimized for the Switch. I have only had one issue and that is the sound of NPC’s randomly gets very quiet sometimes and I can’t hear a single word they say. Aside from that, it runs flawlessly.
Having finished wreckfest I’m moving onto broken sword 5, while still waiting to claim my GT7 platinum… come on PD put the damn Ferrari up it’s been weeks now 😢😂
Mahjong by Microsoft (Android) - Nearly halfway with the required medals needed for July.
Age of Empires: Castle Siege (Android) - Shame I didn't play this in its heyday, seems it would be better with other people to play with.
Make It Rain: The Love of Money (Windows Phone) - This is great for killing a few minutes here and there.
A mix between Elden Ring and Zero Escape’s 2nd game Virtue’s Last Reward. Pretty nice to have something I can just listen for the most part to while doing chores then when I’m not working/cleaning, I can get killed 1,000+ times in Elden Ring. Solid weekend for me!
MAIN = Still finishing up Ni No Kuni II (there's a ton of sidequests...and I kinda wanna do em all, if not most of it.)
SIDE = The Artful Escape
I'm replaying God of War 3 then I'm going to replay God of War 2018.
Not sure why I got the urge to play God of War all of a sudden. Must be something in the air.
Just finally finished trails of cold steel 1 and have the second downloaded but will wait a few weeks before starting that, the story was pretty good but was so much going on and so many side characters, I feel pressured to play the next games ASAP otherswise il forget who everyone is lol
I'm also close to fully completing scarlet nexus, just one more chapter to go, once thats done im going to start star ocean the last hope 4k
And finally on switch I will continue with xenoblade chronicles 2, just started chapter 8 so I'm hoping there's not much left now as I want to finish it before number 3 comes out at the end off the month. I can go without doing the torna dlc
Damn ps+ premium has me hooked back into Dark Cloud. One of my fav ps2 rpgs. Almost done Trek To Yomi. Still playing Shredders Revenge with the boy
I think I'm getting pretty close to the end of Hollow Knight.
Having such a blast with the game. How did I miss out on it for this long?
If I happen to finish HK this weekend then I may restart Cuphead on the PS5 with the DLC. I started it on PC back when it released but never beat it.
Also continue playing Mother 3 on my Steam Deck. I love Mother 3, it's my favorite in the series and up there as one of my favorite JRPGs.
@Mikey856 Shoutout to Broken Sword. My favorite PnC series ever.
Finished Diablo 3 and tbh don't feel the need to go back and do anything else for it. It's a fun game but extremely repetitive and easy for my liking. Not sure if I should get excited about 4 anymore or not
With Monochrome Mobius being a thing, altho hopefully they manage to bring it to PS in the west, I decided to start up the 1st game in the series Utawarerumono Prelude to the Fallen. These names are absolutely ridiculous lmao. But so far it's a good VN. A slow start but I like the characters and the SRPG gameplay is engaging enough for the beginning. Looking forward to more
Capcom Fighting Collection and WWE 2K22.
X com 2. Outstanding so far.
Just grinding through the end game cleanup in GHOSTWIRE: Tokyo for 100%.
@dschons Paris in the fall…
@Mikey856 the feels 😭
Salt and Sacrifice, and maybe a bit of Guardians of the Galaxy or some Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
@Ichiban 13 Sentinels is brilliant and an easy platinum. Loved every moment of it.
Working my way through Ultra Age, aka a poor man’s DMC. Then finishing up TMNT (2 stages left) and hoping to play the excellent RE2 PS5 native version.
On Switch it’s a mix of Neon White and Little Noah Scion.
@DETfaninATL I couldn’t do it. When I saw I had 50k of 240k spirits I was not ready to spend hours pressing Square to reveal all the spirits throughout the city.
YS VIII. Somehow missed this ARPG but had played earlier versions decades ago. One of the best ARPGs I've played in a while. Going to play YS IX next.
@Ravix i just hope we get kingdom come related announcements in the next few months.
One of the best rpg I've played
I’ll be playing some Destiny 2 with the clan, sprinkled with some Gran Turismo 7 and The Binding of Isaac: Repentance on the side.
Happy gaming everyone.
Picked up battlefield 2042 for PS5 earlier today. Might try it out tonight. Hope it's not as bad as everyone claims.
@freddquadros I took a temporary break from playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations (PS4), recently platinumed/beat Syphon Filter (PS1) on my PS5 thanks to PS+ Premium.
Also started up Demon's Souls, so happy it was included with my subscription...not faring very well and would be more upset if I had pay for the game standalone lol.
Glad you're still enjoying HFW, Ghost, and AC4 btw! Keep at it
@Atreus97 Couldn't agree more! Recently upgraded my PS Plus subscription to try out Returnal. Wow, playing this with the Dualsense and Pulse headphones really makes me feel that the next gen has arrived. Absolutely loving it!
I have also just started playing Driver: San Francisco and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier on the PS3. They have been sitting in my backlog of shame but Ubisoft's announcement about closing the online servers has given me the impetus to try them out. Have been pleasantly surprised by both of them so far and look forward to playing them more.
Gonna play some Mortalk Kombat 11 and Fortnite with my friends. Other than that, I think I will play some Spider-Man
Got totally hooked on Snowrunner. In many regards its what I consider an open world should be. Yes, many objectives and map markers, but the game forces you to really read the map and think of efficient ways to tackle the objectives. The gameplay really leans on the open map design.
I put on a podcast in the background and its just an ultimate relaxation game.
I finally got started on Cyberpunk, so far I'm finding it ranges from aggressively okay to flashes of brilliance.
Cherami Leigh IS killing it as V though, as are all the other Persona 5 VAs that keep popping up, Keanu's performance isn't his best and at times feels phoned in and man oh man do I wish they had kept his involvement a secret and just relied on the frothing zealotry of their fanbase to pull in the Day-Oners.
I also wish it had had a full extra year of development.
Gameplay wise it's okay, the driving works, the gunplay is alright, character mobility is bog standard out of the box stuff. Character interactions are great though I wish V's intended tone was better conveyed through the options.
20+ hours in it's a solid 7/10, better than I was expecting, but still broken in some dumb ways with fun but middling combat. I'm probably going to dive into mods soon and try to elevate it on every level.
@Flurpsel this game took me about 200 hours to platinum I just took my time with it, but I stuck grand tour on my phone while I trundled about lol
@Alsajad is a second game on the cards?? Really hope so. Deliverance was incredible, just a shame it was so broken
