We don't know about you, but this week has gone quick on our end. Like, frighteningly quick. Oh well, the good news is it's the weekend again, which means plenty of time for plenty of video games. And there's absolutely loads to play on PS5 and PS4 right now.

To be honest, I'm still hanging with a certain bearded god, but I would like to squeeze in a few minutes of Resident Evil RE:Verse if at all possible.

Review duties continue for me as I check out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer and co-op mode, as well as start The Chant.

It’s here! It’s here! Resident Evil Village in full third person glory!
That's what's keeping us occupied this weekend, then, but what about the rest of you? As we mentioned at the top of this article, there really is a lot to choose from right now, so let us know in the comments section below.

I'm playing Ratchet & Clank All 4 One on PS3. I had started this countless times in coop with friends but we never followed through with it. Now I am finally finishing it solo. It's surprisingly fun and I'm really enjoying it more than I thought I would.
Resident Evil 4
Haven't played it in over 12 years and honestly I don't remember a whole about it but the trailers for the remake have me VERY interested so I bought the PS4 port and am ready to experience it all over again.
Have a good weekend & Happy Halloween everyone!
Played around 4 hours of Ghostbuster Spirits Unleashed with a buddy tonight, and man that's a very good game, huh? Also still working my way through Gotham Knights...it ain't great, but it's not the train wreck people are claiming. And I just finished the first chunk of the RE Village DLC, so far I'm digging it quite a bit..
Continuing with Elden Ring. The game is really good!
I am in the "second" region Liurnia!
Taking my sweet time with the game
Happy gaming everyone!!!
Started Limbo this morning, thought it would be a fun little puzzler to enjoy with the kids. I was wrong.
Started playing Lego Batman: The VideoGame on ps3 after I discovered my Xbox 360 disc is missing.
Also started playing The Crew 2 on my ps5.
Finally I’m trying to get the last Fortnitemares quest done in Fortnite on switch and ps5.
Not much as I’m going to a retro game convention on Sunday after 6 months of saving up for it.
72hrs in my 2nd run of Monster Hunter World, enjoying by far this time round. This is why I believe games are meant to be played more than once, they aren't movies! It always hits different on the 2nd playthrough because now you know the basics. I'm a MH fan now. Just so much fun getting the parts to craft so much unique gear. Feels as engaging as a FromSoft game like you wanna git gud and get your revenge on that monster or your name isn't your name. Highly satisfying and deep combat.
Some more time with Tales of Arise which is... ticking along nicely? I'm not blown away but it's a really well crafted game. FM23 beta continues... time sink and a half.
Gotham Knights on PS5; 8 1/3 hours in, mainly pottering around on side mission things. Also playing Furwind on Switch and scratching my head playing Chip’s Challenge, the Atari Lynx version, on Evercade. Right mixed bag!
If I get chance I'll carry on with stick of truth. I haven't watched South Park since I was about 12, 20 odd years ago, but this may be the funniest game I think I've played.
Work for 3 hours first, then I'll be chasing the last two trophies I need for the platinum in Valkyrie Elysium, and I have 3 or 4 more trophies to get in Century: Age of Ashes. No plat in that game though.
Also the Resident Evil expansion. Looking forward to that one.
On PS5 i will yet again be playing Atelier Sophie 2, and I will also be playing Plague Tale Requiem, started it yesterday and three chapters in so far and it's been really good. I just hate the forced stealth sections.
On switch I've recieved my copy of Bayonetta 3 but I am putting it to one side for now as I want to complete Xenoblade chronicles 3 and Mario and Rabbids sparks of hope first, just spent around 15 hours exploring the Erythea sea and omg is that place huge, I don't think I've ever played a jrpg with maps that big altogether.
On seires S I've recently completed Beacon Pines and I've just bought some more games so I can unsubscribe to gamepass for a few months, so I will playing Chernobylite and Alan Wake Remastered
dragon quest 11, tho i hate it wont let me stream music as you play.
picked ARK up late to it, but hopefully start figuring it out
@TheArt mhw is my favourite ps4 game. i guess you have iceborne?
has the best end game content ever imo.
This weekend I have the house to myself while my fiancé is out of town. I officially finished my first playthrough of A Plague Tale: Requiem on Xbox Series X. So far, it’s my game of the year. We will see how that stands once God of War Ragnarok releases.
The story is amazing, and all of the emotional beats have hit me significantly. This is even more poignant by the incredible performance from Charlotte McBurney. Speaking of emotional - holy hell, Chapter 12 was absolutely gut wrenching, terrifying, and downright shocking. I won’t give away any spoilers, but it is an experience that video games rarely ever tread.
With that said, the game isn’t without its faults. For me, I found the stealth mechanics rather poorly optimized. This was made all the more irritating due to outdated level design and invisible walls. Moreover, a lack of resources would sometimes prevent me from exploring more of the open areas thoroughly due to an abundance of enemies. Regardless of those complaints, I find this game to be utterly essential.
Other than that, I’ll probably be playing RE: Village’s Shadow of Rose DLC. I’m hearing it’s a rather short experience which will be perfect for the weekend.
I’m also going to start up Signalis via Xbox Game Pass. This game looks to be right up my alley, and all of the rave reviews has me even more excited. These handful of games should keep me busy for the spooky season this weekend.
still trying to finish KENA. It's taking longer than I thought, but meeting expectations. then give SIFU a second chancr (stopped at the second level boss)
On my ps5 it's Gotham Knights and Atelier Ryza. Nearing the end of the story in Ryza and after that I'll do the rest for the platinum. Loving the relaxed atmosphere in it. Was my first ever Atelier game and it tastes like modem. Gotham Knights is an entertain able game, nothing groundbreaking but not as bad as some people make it out to be.
On my Xbox I started Persona 5 on gamepass. My first ever Atlus game and I can say I'm blown away by the start. Such and amazing game with a stellar soundtrack. Gives me Like a Dragon vibes somehow. I also decided to buy Star Ocean the Divine Force. Which feels a lot like Tales of Arise in a lot if ways. Not very far in yet, but the combat is great and the traversal system in the game with the dumas is actually great. With it you can basically dash through the world making traversal a lot easier.
I had the sudden urge to play Final Fantasy XII again. So here I am, chaining wolves in the Dalmasca Estersand. For me, this is the best Final Fantasy game by a country mile.
@stvevan I'm definitely going to get Iceborne. I realize it's like a full game on its own judging from the times on HLTB, so much so it could've been called MHW2.
I'm gonna be playing the original Resident Evil on the PS5 and I may pick up The Last of Us as I have some vouchers.
I've also recently returned to Red Dead Redemption 2 to give it another chance, though this time on PC. I'm pretty early in it and messing about around Valentine
R-Type RE3 and The Ascent.
Mount and blade baby! Chaaaaaaargeeeee!!!
Purchased Plague Tale Requiem, cannot wait to jump into that. Apart from that Im playing more Deathloop and Dragon quest builders.
Not been playing much this week, had the week booked off, but last sunday got a kidney infection 😔, so just been constantly tierd. Have played a bit of plagues tale but havent got far. Cod arrived today so might put the campaign on for a hr or so. Hopefully this infection shifts soon, been horrible being so tierd constantly.
@TheArt id recommend it asap, its so big. (think its on sale in store)
if you have finished mhw, its kinda a waste to grind. as you need master rank stuff for proper armour/weapons - so much stronger than HR
I've been moving back and forth between Plague Tale and Persona 5 Royal at the moment. The former is really good so far and the latter is as brilliant as I remember. Hopefully can squeeze in a replay of GOW before Ragnarok arrives as well.
it’s so much to play but so little money and time !! 😭😭
Modern Warfare 2 (PS5) of course
@stvevan Wow! Well I don't think I can escape it anyway with Capcom putting it all up in your face in the game. But wth is wrong with Capcom including those High Rank gear by default in the game, very horrible for newcomers, I know it's there to quickly rank up for Iceborne but it should come with thorough explanation. Because playing it for the first time, I was wondering why I should grind and craft gear that isn't marching up to those already available? I never use them, kills the whole point of the game entirely! Hate it when games do this, sometimes you can't even pre-order games because they're gonna give you some needless high rank gear, like why!!
Hoping to complete The Last Door (PS4) spooky point and click adventure and will have a few more runs, and inevitable deaths, on The Last Stand Aftermath (PS5) - only just begun but can see myself really enjoying this.
Have a good weekend, successful gaming and happy Halloween everyone 👻
Made a start on Pyre the other day and will probably get a few more hours in on that. Not my usual type of game but as with all SuperGiant games, it plays really well (when you're actually 'playing'), has a wonderful soundtrack... and is absolutely gorgeous.
@TheArt it was added in an update. because iceborne basically became the actual game. so returning players can run through original campaign.
LR/HR gear is almost beginner tier. master rank is far more customable, and better decorations.
dont burn yourself out grinding high rank. its really not worth it. basic master rank gear is much stronger
the real grind is end game after iceborne campaign
I really need to crack on with Death Stranding. I've just about got past the mountains, but I spent much too much time adding ziplines and doing minor deliveries to justify linking all my ziplines and went for quite a while with no new story updates, after the first very interesting meeting with Heartman. I just need to force myself back on to trigger a cutscene and move forward without deciding to do even more busy work 😬 I saved outside Heartman's door to make sure I will do that when I begin to game this weekend.
No. More. Ziplines
Just got a ps5 on Monday I've been playing some miles morales and horizon but think I'll be playing god of war this weekend never finished the first game so want to get it finished before Ragnarok.
Completed Darkwood. Great game, very atmospheric and creepy. If they ever make a sequel in first person/VR, I think that might become the scariest game ever made.
Also started Conglomerate 451, it's a cyberpunk grid-based dungeon crawler with some XCOM-like base management. It's OK so far, the kind of game I like listening to music to while playing.
Should finish my plat for megadimension neptunia VII depending on RNG.
Managed to get a good way through yesterday as I tested positive for covid and had a good 14hrs on the couch playing games.
Just need to finish a couple of treasure hunts in Shennu Labyrinth (or whatever it’s called) and then get all the cards.
So many options, so little time... I will continue liberating Iki Island in Ghost of Tsushima. After that I will choose between Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana (so addicting), Assassin's Creed Unity (and India) and Nioh. This weekend is a little busy with the elections here in Brazil, so let's see what I will feels like to play between those games.
I finally finished Kena. Didn't like it as much as I expected beforehand. Now see what I like to start...
I’ll be finishing up A Plague Tale: Requiem and then it’s onto Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. Probably a bit of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on the side too.
Shadows of Rose for me, hopefully. If I get through that, then Plague Tale Requiem and Signalis are next on the docket. I’ve started Requiem, but just barely.
God of War PS5 and on the last chapter of Trails from Zero on Switch.
Right at this moment i'm playing watch the f**king lunatics on the motorway home but later this evening if we survive the mad men i'll try and get round to starting gotham knights..it'll be good to be home..have a good one folks👍
Finally hit chapter 6 in XBC3 - chapter 5’s conclusion was a mind bender alright! I think I have a big chunk of side-questing ahead of me before a couple of breezier final chapters. I joked about this game taking me until Christmas but I legitimately think it will do now.
I will be playing star ocean divine Force I'm loving it
I've finally managed to snag a Steam Deck so playing around with it - Skyrim on Ultra settings on a handheld is a modem day miracle ! Also playing Cyberpunk on it...my new favourite toy ..
On PS5 I'm back onto the vastly improved Battlefield 2042 and loving it again.
Also playing MK11 Aftermath story expansion. On PS5 this game is a wonder!
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤
I’ve just finished A plague tale reqiuem and really, really liked it. Great game!
Just bought Bright memory infinite and like it a lot so far. Wanted a shorter game as Im waiting for GoW ragnarok 😀
It's another weekend where I work two 12 hour shifts... so... nothing.
Just finished Trails from Zero, so some Persona 5 Royal until GoW Ragnarok drops in less than two weeks....!
A bushel of ace combats

Playing modern warfare 2-very much enjoying it so far. I’ve also got Gotham Knights to play, but as it’s not long till ragnarok is out. I’m going to leave playing gotham knights, till I’ve completed ragnorak. I’ve played half way through Yakuza 3 aswell-not really feeling it as much as the 1st few Yakuza games. Happy Halloween everyone!
@Shepherd_Tallon I really wanted to platinum ValkyrieElysium but it feels so much like a time sink. Congrats on that! Maybe I’ll go back one day.
Gotham Knights for me. It’s fantastic, but I also didn’t expect Arkham. I also love the Bats universe so my bias is real.
In between Gotham I’ll be finishing up runs in Valkyrie Elysium and restarted slay the spire on PS5 instead of Switch this time. I May even dip back into Jack Move if time allows.
Switch is Bayonetta weekend. Playing through 2 and then opening 3. Triangle Strategy will still get some love too.
Never got around to playing RE Villiage, so finally am after buying the new update. Playing on PS4 and runs surprisingly well. Also been replaying RE Revelations 2 on Switch, and possibly some Super Castlevana IV.
@ErrantRob The SSS rank on every weapon is a chore. If I'd been aware of that one I would have done it as I was playing the game through rather than sticking to just my favourite weapons, but now I'm grinding the same subquest over and over.
Everything else just kind of happened as I was playing it though.
Plague Tale Requiem, RE Winter's Expansion, Soma and might pick up Inscryption so the Halloween theme is strong
Re playing Res evil village cein as just brought the expansion
Mass Effect 3
Highly enjoying it so far. I had hit a bit of a rough patch with gaming of late, but jumping back into a proven series like Mass Effect has been great. I never did finish this back in the day, so getting to go through it now via the Legendary Edition collection is nice and pretty much brand new for me.
I just finished Amnesia Descent into Darkness for Halloween and now have decided to play some Deathloop, looking forward to checking it out.
Mario Kart 64 (N64) - Playing the ghost courses for Halloween.
World At Arms (Windows Phone) - Back to this for the time being.
Temple Run 2 (Windows Phone) - Playing one last time before I delete it forever.
@Gloamin Sounds great definitely looks unique
A bit of call of duty MWII. First COD gane ive had since the Modern Warfare remaster on ps4. I completely suck at it tho.
Playing lotsa Disney Dreamlight Valley I’ve been doing the new Halloween quests and star paths, so I have a lot of scary decorations now and have been slowly building up my house and yard for the holiday. Getting some amazing design and fashion inspiration from the Dreamlight Reddit. Been farming often and have over 2 million in the bank, so spending more than I should at Scrooge’s store. Also recently unlocked Minnie and Elsa and they’re keeping me busy. Never knew I was into cozy games but here we are…
Started first playthough of The Quarry, will also continue with The Medium.
I'm on the last, I guess area, of Cult of the Lamb. I'm having a lot of fun with the game, even though my cult seems to be way too OP. I have everything already maxed out and have a seemingly infinite amount of coin.
Started A Plagues Tale Requiem, a little too action-heavy compared to the first one, but still immensely enjoyable, by the time I finish it, my copy of Gotham Knights should be here, if not, I'll jump back into RE Village and buy the Winters Expansion to play the Shadow of Rose DLC, as my RE Village Gold Edition probably won't arrive til Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
On PS5 im giving hell and hell mode a try on Dmc 5 and finishing my Virgil playthrough on LDK mode. And starting Deathloop Series X
Disney Dreamlight Valley….it is fiercely addictive game from the get go. The Halloween event is a blast and even though it is an early access version it is pretty reliable on PS5 (not so much on switch I’m informed!)…it is great to have something I can play with my young son who loves Disney..I have never seen him so excited for a game. This could be huge when it officially released next year (for free) as long as the devs don’t get greedy with the in game purchases….Also will play more Psychonauts 2
Final Fantasy X for some strange reason
After years waiting my hype had wained, but the reviews convinced me so I’ve picked up Bayonetta 3.
I’ll be playing with the witch when I have the telly, and Persona 4 on the Steam Deck when I don’t.
I’m playing cuphead and my god is this game effing hard
@Ravix I’m playing Death Stranding this weekend also. It’s a little different than most games I’ll admit, but that’s a good thing. I’m actually struggling at times with it; I’ll put a waypoint on my next delivery but when I exit the map, I don’t see it on the field of view.
@Kingleo31 I think it only shows when you hit compass mode L1, or it certainly stands out more that way.
Also, if you go on the map and drag multiple waypoints to make an 'ideal' route (a great way to avoid combat and bts if required) every time you pop the Odradek scanner with R1 it shows a dotted line to follow, and from then you can just move around any obstacles whilst following your pre planned route 😁 genuinely made me feel like I've missed out on some combat gameplay at times, but if you look at the map there are usually clever routes through areas, and I can't resist going a different way to the obvious main route (where you see a tonne of initial ladder drops from other players) before venturing into the unknown off the chiral network.
It definitely is different, but I'm loving it. My main tips would be: the environment is the most difficult enemy to overcome, so give it as much thought and respect as you would a named enemy in any another game.
Never panic. I've watched some YouTubers who just walk around holding their breath as soon as they sense a BT 😬 and they always get caught and make it hard for themselves and rage and panic about the whole ordeal 😅 (although sometimes getting caught is good anyway, as you can remain calm and fight or plod away)
Pay attention to dialogue and read mails, or at least focus on anything that sounds like a gameplay tip whilst skim reading. And hoover up any extra lore as it's a long time between some cutscenes.
Enjoy.
Also, first thing I did today was put down maybe 3 more ziplines 😳😳😳 it's crazy, because I actually enjoy the travel when you have basically no help as it feels more immersive. Fun for doing side orders quick though 😁
Uncharted: The lost legacy on crushing
@Ravix sounds like some great advice. I’ll take it to heart next time I get into it. It’s a game I’ve always wanted to play but like you said, it can be a little complex to learn all of the intricacies. It’s a beautiful game I am loving just getting lost in my observation of its world.
Tried playing Days Gone and ran into an infamous corrupt game. Had to delete my game save and the copy of DG itself. Will retry the game since I was only 90 minutes into it, but if it happens again it'll be the last game I ever purchase made by Bend Studios.
Castlevania SotN (Series X) It's that time of year again. I decided to do my yearly playthrough of SotN to coincide with Halloween this year.
Forza Horizon 3 (Series X) Been in the mood for a FH game so I figure it was time to go back to this one and finish a few loose ends.
TMNT 3 Radical Rescue (Switch) An interesting Metroidvania type of game. I never played it during the Gameboy days but I am enjoying it now.
@Kingleo31 ah, yes I gave up trying to learn some things, it introduces a new mechanic or tool/weapon every 30 minutes it seems like 😅 I've honestly ignored most of the new things I unlock, bar the odd few that are nice additions, but it's good for it, as you can pick and choose to suit your personal play style. I'd just expect two thirds through a game I'd be done learning about new tools and resources by now, but nope, it's Kojima 😁
I always knew I'd like this game on some level, but I still waited to play it, I think it's one you definitely have to be in the mood to play, and this Autumn seemed the perfect time to go for it. Now i'm just looking forward to seeing if some of the things I think I've picked up on turn out to be the case, story wise, and I really want to see how things unfold. It's got a nice drip fed pace for the story, and I feel it's one where you will be rewarded for sticking with it to the end. I hope so anyway 😁
@Ravix I feel the very same! It’s currently rainy and cool where I live and the world looks set in some cold climate so it’s a perfect time for me to get into it. And I understand about being in the mood to play it. Earlier when the BTs caught me, I loaded an earlier save before the encounter, saved it, and then turned it off. I’ll give it another go once I’m done playing Some Tales of Berseria. My current position is trying to deliver this equipment, package thing to the west of the bridges base. Not sure where you’re at in your game you may be past me.
Just got the platinum in plague tale requiem took around 20 hours. At work this weekend but Martha is Dead next week.
Finished the shadows of rose dlc last night loved it now I'm going to play darksiders 2 deathinitive edition , anyone that plays re verse I'd recommend turning off the comic filter in the settings
Finally got my lightgun setup sorted so playing through the classics but mostly point blank 👍
I’ml be spending time between Gotham Knights, RE Village’s DLC and MW2
Was playing and enjoying Gotham Knights until I hit a spot where the controls just dont work for the task at hand. I might try it again tomorrow but if i cant get through it then i will just delete it and go back to something else.
I’m playing Persona 5 Royal for about the 10th time (2nd as Royal, probably 8 as original story). I just finished Madarame’s palace so I’m going to probably pause it before I hit Kaneshiro’s Palace & Makoto’s awakening. Aiming to complete 2 palaces then take a break in-between. Probably save the last palace for itself since it’s pretty lengthy so I’ll treat it as 5 “mini-games”. P5R is way too overwhelming & can push you to rush through parts if you play it all in a row IMO. It’s better played in segments with breaks.
I’m thinking about starting either Cuphead or Death’s Door. Are any of those Halloween-esque games? Cuphead looks gorgeous & difficult which I don’t mind. Death’s Door is another game that looks great & looks fun. Excited for either!
Randomly. started Days Gone again, only finished it once back wen it released. Also going for platinum on TLOU Part 1. Fifa career too every weekend between the games on TV.
@Gloamin @tsushima I just picked Inscryption up a few days ago with it being on my radar and PS stars giving me nudge to bite the bullet.
I know people say it’s best to go in completely blind but even so…wow, it just keeps surprising me. Absolutely Hooked!
I've finally started forbidden west and some mixed feelings so far. At the start of this game, they seem to be leaning really hard into the political situation of the post apocalyptic world. That was some of the things I enjoyed least about zero dawn. I was there for the story behind how the world ended up that way. Some of the writing is so earnest and verbose I've found myself skipping through some (though still reading the subtitles). However, the world and machine combat is better than ever. I think I'm going to give some of the sidequest stuff a bit more of a chance before deciding to mainline the main quest or not.
RE2. It really is the best game in the series. I wish they could push the hardware a bit more with the ray-tracing mode.
Little Hope on PS5 with the wife. Sleeping Dogs...I am so glad I ayed this again, been years and feels super fresh to me. Shame we will never get a sequel.
@Kingleo31 I'm nearing the end game pretty much, expecting a lot of cutscenes to take over after maybe a few more hours of gameplay 😁
I wouldn't bother quitting if they catch you, especially if it's just getting dragged away, as you can compose yourself and make your way away from the bigger bt (or defeat it if equipped to) and then it clears the area so you're safe to collect your stuff and pass though.
There was a point where I was equipped to deal with fights, so I got caught on purpose, but I'd left it later in the game after not getting dragged away before, and there were like 3 boss BTS and I was stuck on a very steep ledge without enough resources to fight them 😁 (there's actually a mechanic where other players can throw you equipment, but they kept landing in an unreachable spot) so I spent about 15 mins trying to fight and survive on my ledge, and then they just left me alone in the end 😂 it's not a very punishing game in reality though, just brave it out and you'll get used to encounters 👍💫
Signalis - great little game that takes me back to the PS1 era. Damn I miss the PS1 days…
Took the plunge on Hades and 3 hours in, loving it!
@PaperAlien Lemme get that , same isometric style as The Ascent which is the first game to hook me in some time. Only rated way higher ..
I've been playing a lot of Gotham Knights . Its quite good in my opinion. much better than Cyberpunk was during launch.
i was playing ArkhamCity and was halfway in before Gotham Knights launched so continuting that as well
MW2 - no complains , campaign looks great and plays great. I like Vanguard and can't say this(MW2) is the better campaign.
too many good games not enough time
Persona 5 royal (first playthrough), MW2, and OW2!!!
