And just like that, the PS Showcase has come and gone, and the mood is sour. But have no fear for the release schedule is absolutely stacked with quality #Content, and there's really never been a better time to own a PS5.

Planning a quiet, indoor weekend, and if all goes to plan to dive into Crusader Kings 3: Console Edition. the Royal Court expansion finally came over from PC, and I wanna live like a decadent medieval king.
Scott McCrae
Finished up the review I've been working on for the last two weeks so it's finally time for me to dig into Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom properly, although I am feeling Alan Wake Remastered calling my name.
Simon Fitzgerald
With cricket season in full swing there won’t be much time for me to game this weekend but hopefully I will find the time to finish up Star Wars Jedi: Survivor or fit in a few more rounds of Walkabout Mini Golf.
Stephen Tailby
I have one or two things to play this weekend that I’m technically not allowed to talk about. However, what I can say is that I don’t think I’ll be able to resist the pull of Beat Saber on PSVR2. It’s calling to me.
A short but sweet WAYP from our team this weekend, but we expect an action-packed comments section as always below. What are you playing this weekend? Let us know.

Still playing Tears of the Kingdom. It is so damn good!
I only conquered 2 temples (Water and Wind) but going at my own pace instead of rushing to the end is rewarding
And I think to take breaks with Castlevania 64. It is a little shameful for a huge Castlevania fan to have never finished this one
Happy gaming everyone!
95 hours into Jedi Survivor and still loving it. If you holding off for performance patches, I think it’s as good as it’s going to get (which 95% of the time is fine). Not looking forward to some of those harder force tears though
Probably shouldn’t admit this, but…
After what seems like eternity chipping away at Diablo 3’s trophy list in soft core… i finally started my hard core run this morning. Home straight baby!
After barely playing any gamea for 2 weeks I started and beat LocoRoco on ps4 a few days ago and I’m currently playing through LocoRoco 2.
A friend is gifting me The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom today so I’ll be playing that too.
Beyond that I’m planning on playing Jak and Daxter and Untitled Goose Game soon.
Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom just finished the water temple so not in a rush. Dead Island 2 side missions, Resident Evil 4 Castle section and Far Cry 6.
Dipping between Jedi survivor and Destiny
PS5: Been playing through Life Is Strange True Colors. That first chapter ending ruined me. Also an easy platinum if you follow the guide. On my way to platinum 120! Also been playing the first Dead Island with my friend because it was $2 on the last sale. It’s awful but for some reason we continue to play it. Will begrudgingly play more on Sunday.
Switch: Been playing Paranormasight on my commute to work/lunch breaks. Haven’t touched it all week but will bring it tonight if I’m not too tired when I head out to work.
Pga road to the masters and salt and sacrifice because all this talk of metroidvanias lately made me remember i've not yet finished it..have a good weekend folks 👍
@CrispyMango92 I got the Arcadia Bay collection for Christmas so I played both games back to back — oof! Needed an emotional lie down after that... Is True Colours just as good?
Giving my PS5 some rest after (another) 120 hours of Forbidden West and checking out if my Series X with GP wasn’t a complete waste of money. At least I’m enjoying myself with Planet of Lana right now. Cute little puzzler that has me hooked.
I played Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town PS4 All Day Long. 😊
I have reached Winter season.
Still stocking a lot of Curry Udon and Stamina Booster to prepare mining at Lake Mine.
I made my money from selling Van's Favorite to Huang by purchasing 1 item per transaction for 10 times and I will get Van's Favorite bottle from mailbox on the next day.
1 Van's Favorite bottle can be sold until 57,000 G to Huang and I don't really need to plant a lot of crops since I can get easy 55,000 - 57,000 G from each Van's Favorite bottle. 😁
Still chipping away at Humanity and it’s already one of my favourite games this year. It reminds me of those old PS1 games like Kula World and Intelligent Qube. It’s really fun/addictive trying to clear each stage without cheating (YouTube). Really enjoying it. And it was ‘free’ with PS+ Extra 😁
I'm a good 100hrs into Tears of The Kingdom, on my third Temple but I do have the Master Sword! I'll probably be playing for most of June, my goal is get as much done before ffxvi comes out.
@Andee I played the first when it released and finally played Before the Storm and LIS2 in the past month after buying them years ago. BtS was good but I mostly hated LIS2. I only pushed through for the platinum. I liked the first 2 episodes but it dropped off a cliff for me on episode 3. But to answer your question, I’m enjoying True Colors. It’s a bit different from the previous games gameplay wise but I like the changes. Also, the game still retains the look of LiS but it looks so much better. Night and day difference compared to the previous games. I just finished episode 3 and really liked what they did in it. If you have Plus Extra, you can play it there.
More Zelda TOTK I'm only about 25 hrs in and feel I've barely scratched the surface! I've not been able to devote as much time as I'd have liked...a genius game though!
Also playing the superb Age of Wonders 4 and Gran Turismo 7 ...the best racer around on any console right now
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
Soundfall(Thank you PS Plus Extra)
I was going to play Jedi Survivor but none of my dualsense controllers are connecting to my PS5 been happening on and off since Wednesday night after the showcase.
@PenguinLtd The Artful Escape is a neat little game. It’s super colorful so it looks gorgeous throughout and had me grinning ear to ear for some of the “set pieces”. Has an easy platinum too if you care for trophies.
Elden Ring, Elden Ring and more Elden Ring. I see myself playing this game multiple times for years. Just love the FromSoftware fashion, found some new outfits I missed on my first playthrough. Just love the simple but artistic nature of their games really. Then it's my favourite AC of recent years - Valhalla, roaming the beautiful world looking for gear and ingots. Plus some Iki Island in GoT probably and of course Bloodborne.
MHR Sunbreak. Fully enjoying it.
Another bank holiday huh 👍🏻
I’ve been up since 5, bike ride done and dusted and now I am a bit knackered. Probably go back to bed for a bit and hopefully play some Zelda later on. Enjoying it but not exactly “into it” as struggling to find time for extended sessions. Would like to grab a beer outside at some point since the sun in shining. Have a good one!
I’ve got a lovely chill weekend ahead of me so I’m playing some lighter games after several heavy emotion hitters recently. I’m heading back to power wash simulator to try for that platinum but I hate time and water based trophies 😂
@CrispyMango92 yeah I've not really made any effort to seek out LIS2, until recently I thought they were just referring to BtS — I dunno, something about the look of the characters seems a little off-putting, and I feel like I'd really miss Max and Chloe's presence.
Red matter 2 of course. What an incredible, and incredibly beautiful game.
Will likely pop in and out if Ishin too, on my quest towards the platinum completion.
May also have a few more goes of Beat Saber. Can I resist the Queen pack?
@KaijuKaiser 14 hours a day Saturday, Sunday x 2 and 4 hours per day in the week for 10 days, boom.
Working this weekend, but hopefully more TotK. I’m confident I’ll be playing it at least until FF16 comes out, honestly.
Beat Saber PSVR2
Still Tears of the Kingdom.
Had a great day of exploration yesterday, until my friend spoiled a significant plot point for me.
Gutted.
I've recently delved back in to Final Fantasy XIV, started from scratch with a new character.
About 110 hours in and I've finished the base game, A Realm Reborn and am working my way towards the first expansion.
Tempted to go for the Plat on PS5, but some of the trophies seem to be not registering my actions properly, so that may not happen.
Im playing the amazing ni no kuni remastered wrath of the white witch remastered.the excellent persona 5 royal.the fantastic middle earth shadow of mordor game of the year edition.and the wonderful infamous second son.im watching my boston Celtics 💚🖤🏀 play.and im watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy in Sanford and son and saved by the bell.word up son
Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (sorry PS5, you can rest and recover) I've not advanced much since last week, and yet I've loved playing it most evenings. Helping random characters with silly their little problems as the world burns around them 😁 it's great
And watching the most insane game 6 in NBA history tonight (hopefully it's insane and not another dud) The Celtics had completely checked out of the playoffs for 3 games, and then suddenly they woke up. Hopefully old habits have been put to the side because I'd quite like to see them have a chance at the comeback in game 7 as it will be some event.
Yes, PS5 you can still stream the Basketball. Don't worry.
I let my PS Plus run out, so I might actually check my game catalogue for stuff I own and then see if there's something that needs finishing too, I suppose.
@KaijuKaiser I work for myself and purposefully left my calendar open so I've been able to indulge (Plus a shipping error meant I got the game a few days early).
Back to the grindstone though in a week!
@Andee The main characters suck. No character growth at all between them, especially the little kid. I absolutely hated him. You’re better off skipping it. When you’re ready for another cry, True Colors will be waiting for you!
Still on with Zelda and loving it
@CrispyMango92 I'm gonna be lost in Hyrule for the next few weeks, but yeah it's definitely high on my list!
Vengeful Heart, a wonderful visual novel I got in the ps store sale for 1,99 this week!
Kept seeing loads about red dead redemption 2 on YouTube for some reason, so I booted it up last week and I'm hooked again.
Everyone talks about the crazy success of GTA5 and how Elden Ring is the perfect game.
I'm going to disagree with both those statements.
Red Dead 2 is probably the most perfect game there is.
For what was happening within the a wild West, this game just captures everything. Im still finding things to do in the game, talking or robbing every single NPC in the game, most buildings are open. Always something happening, so many random and different encounter around the world, the story is top notch aswel. This should be the game every open world aims to be or approve upon it in my eyes.
Side note I'm going to start Humanity later. I enjoyed the demo.
Clearing the side content in Star Wars Jedi Survivor, advancing the story of Assassin's Creed Origins and maybe some Yakuza 0. I watnt to play some new games, so I must clear the game list 1st. That's it.
@DrVenture69 Oh, there are 2 transversal ones that I know I will pull my hairs out of the head... For sure the hardest thing in the entire game.
Played a bit of beat saber on psvr2 this morning. Its my bday on thursday so celebrating today, going to pkay some snooker and pool this afternoon with few friends and some drinks, then a northen soul night later on so looking forward to that 😁😁
I have a choice to start something new or go back to ghost recon breakpoint... probably breakpoint today, Bloodborne tomorrow
More Like A Dragon Ishin, chapter 10 now so not far, the story is excellent and it has got my appetite wet for Lost Judgement having picked that up but never started it!
Enjoy the sunshine folks and happy gaming
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Still enjoying it after 60+ hours. Some of the latter puzzles are getting a bit frustrating, which shows why I usually don't like such puzzle heavy games, but I'm still liking this far better than I did Breath of the Wild. I'm putting more of a focus on story related stuff and are doing side puzzles if I don't think I have enough time to finish a story quest. Like I said, still enjoying this regardless.
@freddquadros, yeah I’ve found those (saving them for when I feel particularly masochistic), the double-rancor-one-hit-fest isn’t fun either😂. I’m going back when I’ve got all the upgrades
It’s Jedi Survivor and Tears of the Kingdom weekend for me.
I’d like to finish or work on Signalis or Midnight Suns, but we shall see. I’m really just counting down until Diablo IV hits.
Tiny Tina’s wonderlands and mlb 23 the show
@Northern_munkey I’m finding pga golf much more difficult than pga tour 2k!
I'm getting towards the end of Pikmin 2, and still continuing with Hogwarts Legacy and Nier Replicant.
I’m still playing the fantastic The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. My affinity for this game has only increased over time — it’s a masterpiece, and will go down as one of, if not the best game of all time.
I just discovered the auto-build feature, and it has come in handy tremendously. Furthermore, the quest to obtain this ability was incredibly fun, and I happened to stumble upon it by happenstance.
Speaking of quests, the main objectives are truly a joy. I’ve been tackling them a little bit more, and reaching the Water Temple was a real blast — literally. That said, some of the initial quests with the Zora was a little confusing with not a lot of context.
Furthermore, I’m 50 hours in, and I’m still experiencing new things. Last night, I discovered a really cool shrine in a unique way. I found this sky island that had a device that you could interact with. Nearby had a shield that is literally meant for sledding. If you activate it, it creates a green orb that you can sled down and through, and it becomes a relay race of sorts. If you manage to pass through all of the circles without them disappearing it will turn into a shrine to explore.
Overall, I’m still taking my time with this game. I’m continuing making notes and reveling in all of its brilliant glory - and being blown away by the game nearly every second, and around every corner.
After contemplating putting it on hold Death Stranding has finally got its claws into me and won me over. Would love to stay and chat everyone but I have to move some cargo and meet up with Fragile at the distribution centre south of Lake Knot City. 😉
@Mgene15 it is more of a challenge but once you start increasing your skills it starts getting more accessible. Save your credits for the legendary ball stats..thats a big one to have.
Zelda still and Will also start Jedi Survivor. Still grinding FF1 and going through Megaman BN 5
Basically just waiting for Diablo 4 to release right now so I'm addicted to Honkai Star Rail right now and I play a level or two of Humanity each day.
Still not really into gaming much so I have only been playing Jetwash Simulator and the odd go at Hogwarts Legacy.
Oh and I started and finished Lake which was a very laid back game which reminded me of Royal Mail in the good old days before it became crap.
@kyleforrester87 ....sitting outside in the sun when there's gaming to be done ???...priorites, man !!
The same games I’ve been playing on PS5 for awhile. WWE 2K23 and I definitely need to get back on Final Fantasy VII Remake.
@KingPev I know, I only said it to try to sound cool to be fair. Curtains closed with my hand inside a pack of Doritos until Tuesday is the reality.
I'm going for a platinum in the very good Hogwarts Legacy so I've started a new game and chosen Slytherin house. I like the way that the quests are different for each house on how you find out about the map room.
I'm also playing the very good AC Valhalla. At the part where Sigurd starts believing he's special but Eivor thinks he's just a nutter.
@PenguinLtd I loved the artful escape. Great little game
I am almost done with Greedfall. It is a good game. There are some problems with it-the combat, quest design and facial animations feel dated even for when it was released a few years ago. But playing it makes me feel like I am playing the original Dragon Age, and I mean that in the best way.
I have also installed Deliver us the Moon, which I have been meaning to get to forever. That’s right: it is going to be a backlog kind of summer!
@kyleforrester87 I really wondered what you were gonna say then....glad you said "pack of Doritos" 🤣
@Texan_Survivor I finally played RDR2 last Fall. As the credits rolled I had two strong emotions. Deep satisfaction with the game, and an urge to kick myself for waiting to play that masterpiece for so long.
Glad you are enjoying it! What a game.
@KingPev haha sorry yes, that wouldn’t make sense to you now that I think about it. Let me explain, so, in my house, “a pack of Doritos” is slang for “my pants”. I use different flavours depending on when I last showered. Cool original, tangy cheese, etc.
@CrispyMango92 I couldn't get into 2 but loved 1, before the storm and true colours. May have to give 2 another try
Still playing through the DLC for Mortal Shell as I’m really enjoying it. Not sure if I’m going to 100% it or not, but until there’s a sale on something on my wish list it will keep me busy and satisfied.
@rusty82 how far did you get into 2? I’m not sure which comment you read but I disliked 2. I thought the first two episodes were really good but episodes 3-5 were hot garbage. The main characters were stuck in a cycle of making the same mistakes over and over again and never learned any lessons. By the start of episode 5, I just wanted it to end so I blitzed through it just to get the last bit of trophies. Then immediately deleted it.
@kyleforrester87 animal 🤣
1. Jedi Survivor
2. Zelda tears of the kingdom
3.f1 (Monaco Gand Prix weekend 🏁 🏎️)
Still going between Tears of the Kingdom and Splatoon 3
Helping a group get their 25 extractions trophy on Battlefield 2042 this weekend. Also just fired up the VR2 for the first time and have tried out Puzzling Places which is a perfect way for me to unwind. Few issues with the headset need sorting out mind. I need to work out how best to keep it on my head as the initial attempt I had a terrible headache after around 30 minutes. Not sure I have the sweet spot as I still have the gap between my eyes appearing in front of me when the headset is on me. The rubber flaps are an irritation but all these issues just need some attention. I definitely need some contact lenses as my current glasses are badly worn out so it’s affecting the image quality.
Horizon Mountain trial was fun, not sure If I will get it yet.
Nonday is a holiday here so I will be furthering my playthrough of Octopath Traveler 2 on PS5. This game is great! I highly recommend trying the demo. I started with Osvalds story.
Dragalia Lost (Android) - I'd forgot that this was no longer playable since the server closure.
Imperia Online (Windows Phone) - Time for a management style game again.
Dark Souls 3 and some MGS collection
As many, still playing Jedi Survivor and TOTK, I also finished the MW2 (2022) campaign and it was surprisingly really good.
Yuppie psycho: complete edition.
Wow! This game rocks and looks like a more detailed "Home" game. So underated.
After watching the Neva trailer, I bought and played Gris with the wife. Hopefully finish off Sable and finally have a crack at the diablo 4 Beta
Well big week of game beating for me. This week I was able to beat both Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Both excellent wonderful games that I have very little words to describe them because they were just THAT good. Anyway for this weekend it’s gonna be more Tears of the Kingdom and actually working on beating Sifu next so I can use that for some nice trade credit towards Street Fighter 6 at the end of the week. If I can do that I’ll move onto some One Piece Odyssey as I’ve been really loving that and wanting to play more of it. With Xenoblade done tho the next title I’m moving onto might be a little surprising possibly. It’s gonna be Fire Emblem Engage in that nice Monday is the day off schedule slot. As for the anime y’all already know it’s a nice Hell’s Paradise, Mashle, My Home Hero and Cafè Terrace sort of weekend. Happy gaming to all and a happy long weekend to anyone in the US.
Still having a blast with Hogwart's Legacy, 120 hours in, finished campaign + side quests and now working on (many) collectibles, several dozen more side quests, growing my beast collections, tuning my Fire and Ice build, and exploring places I have not reached yet.
About 7 hours into Forspoken, kind of the perfect dovetail transition from Hogwarts, lot of cool spells and lots to explore. Love the open world aspect with so much to do besides the campaign. Game throws a lot of techniques and spells at you in the early hours, I still need to perfect some of the moves and combos, but so far really surprised at how fun it is.
@Bentleyma
No need to feel any shame. Everyone has that odd game that reviewed poorly but is a guilty pleasure. Mine is Lair!😄
Anyway as for what I'm playing, I'm still working on Zelda.
PS5/PSVR2: GT7 maybe. Depends how I feel have been sick for the whole week.
Switch: Zelda BOTW. I think I will play this as it’s much more relaxing than VR.
Also note to self to not forget to buy beat saber.
Still grinding away at fifa 23 platinum since January. Family comes first lmao
Like others I'm sure, this weekend is all about clearing a game ahead of Diablo IV - in my case, Jedi Survivor. Respawn definitely over-indexed on the platforming aspects for me, other than that I am loving it.
@KilloWertz love Immortals Fenyx Rising..I need to revisit. I agree the puzzles got more and more complex the deeper into the game…I got sick of always having to go to YouTube. But everything else was pretty awesome.
@Bentleyma I actually just played through Sonic 06' for the first time last year lmao. I figured it was more than likely just as bad as everyone said it was, but I had to know for myself for some reason
@Mostik great choices, Yagami is an awesome character. Enjoy
Just beat Collisto(awesome game) and Dead Island 2(addictive). I'll be playing Atomic Heart, Moonscars, Weird West, Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, and a little Star Wars(VR)/Jedi Survivor.
@ErrantRob be ready for Midnight Sun(150hrs without DLC) to absorb your life, and I just started Signalis. I'll definitely be putting some time into this GOTY nominee. There is no better combination than AAAs mixed with some great indies. Throw in some VR, and you're cooking with fire. Happy gaming.
@Texan_Survivor You too! Happy gaming!
@frankmcma You? Loved Immortals Fenyx Rising? I don't know what gave it away...
Yeah, at this point (just met the 4th god, Hephaestus) I try a puzzle at times and move on if I can't figure it out on my own. I figured most of them out on my own in the first half of the game. Oh well, no big deal, as like you said I'm highly enjoying the story portion of it.
It’s Convergence for me
Having finally completed my no hit run of titles for Wo Long, i moved back to Hogwarts Legacy. Could not get into it the first time round. Enjoying it much more this time. Perhaps its the contrast to Wo Long, in that, this feels like a relaxing game in comparison.
Having said that, a new sub battlefield was released with patch 1.08 and im tempted to fire it up and give it a go!
Breath of the Wild. Finally got hooked on this after only ever playing it briefly.
Hard to find something specific to allocate my gaming time in, without starting a new game.
I'm waiting for Diablo 4 to launch, and that will take up most of my game time in June at least...
So, yesterday I did a bit of Bloodborne, created a new account on my PS5 to start a new Arcane build character and go for the 3rd Platinum.
Played a few original missions in Starcraft on PC... yeah, nostalgia kicks in sometimes : )
Now I've started a new run in Elden Ring, to try out one of the One-Shot Best Builds I found on YT, and at the same time to do some side quest I missed when I first played it. I won't finish them in a few days, clearly, but they can be done on and off in the long-term.
Zelda TotK and RE Village on the PSVR 2! Both equally stunning for very different reasons!
@SurgicalMenace Midnight Suns is great for remote play. I do wish there was a tad bit less interactions since the combat is so enjoyable! And enjoy Signalis. I got through the first three chapters if I were to label them as such before realizing I’d need a guide to feel like I’m doing the game justice!
@CrispyMango92 no I saw you didn't like 2 and I was agreeing saying it's the only one I didn't finish (and get platinum for). Just didn't grab me
@SurgicalMenace I gave up on Callisto finding it frustrating
Not had any game time this weekend but the glorious weather has made it worthwhile.
Bought Bramble so will start that and finally got round to the evil within 2 after sacking off Callisto protocol
Nothing yet, but if I have time tomorrow I do plan on playing more of Hogwarts Legacy.
Sadly today is dedicated to catching up on TV shows and movies with my Mom.
