This week’s WAYP is coming in hot, so forgive us the brief pre-amble. We’ve got a lot of responses from the team this time, though, so let’s get straight into it.
Aaron Bayne
I'm having a hard time pulling myself away from The Finals, but I'm keen to check out the God of War Ragnarok DLC, Valhalla this weekend, too.
Jamie O'Neill
I'm halfway through a One Gun Trophy completion of PS5 Dead Space, which is proof that its starting weapon is efficient and well balanced, as I try to beat the game using only the Plasma Cutter.
Khayl Adam
I’m still tooling around with Rogue Trader, but definitely need to check out the God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla DLC at some point. I'm not looking forward to relearning how to play, but the hype for it has been off the charts, and it sounds well worth investigating.
Liam Croft
My Christmas break starts... right now. I'll be entertaining myself with The Last of Us 2 Remastered and a fresh playthrough of Cyberpunk 2077.
Sammy Barker
I still have a huge event in Honkai: Star Rail to polish off, so I'm fairly sure any gaming time I get this weekend will be dedicated to finishing that before the update.
Scott McCrae
I'm giving Baldur's Gate 3 another go before the wave of January 2024 releases takes over once again! I will probably be playing a lot of Street Fighter 6, too!
Stephen Tailby
As we approach Christmas, I'm not sure how much time I'll get for gaming this weekend. However, I'd love to do a few more runs through God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla. I've been having a blast with it, and I'd like to give it a little more time, just to make sure I haven't missed any lingering story beats post-credits.
An absolute ton of games from our team this week, then, but what about the rest of you? You know the drill, as always: let us know what you're playing in the comments section below!

This will be a chill weekend!
I will be playing Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow for the 999th time
Some Dishonored and a new game for me Alien Isolation
Happy gaming!!!
I’ll be carrying on with 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Hopefully have it done by the end of the weekend. Had a good time with it.
Finally got into Deaths Door. It can be a tricky wee bugger at times. Dipping in and out of that and Mario Wonder
I've wrapped up Forza Motorsport (2023) on Series X, so now I can focus completely on PS5 this weekend.
I'm nearing the end of both my ongoing titles on PS5. With DOOM 3 I'm only a few hours away from the end, and I'm currently playing through the epilogue of Tokyo Xanadu. If I can finish at least one of them this weekend, that would be great. Still haven't started up the FFXVI DLC yet, which I'm tempted to do this weekend. There's just so little time and so many games!
I started the Skull & Bones Closed Beta last night and obviously I can't say too much about it but it's confirmation the game does exist!.
It's time limited to six hours, I've played an hour so far and have had enough fun that I will be playing more. Then I'll go back to a couple of games where I only need a handful of trophies for platinum - PGA Tour Golf, GoW Ragnarok - before working on the AC Mirage plat. My PlayStation 2023 wrap-up with its solitary platinum trophy has... shamed me into action.
After a weather induced washout last weekend, I (along with many, many others) will be playing at doing the Christmas shopping down in town this afternoon. Then I'll probably play something nice and soothing like "Sekiro" or "Returnal" to calm myself down. Best of luck to everyone out there on a similar mission today!
Not much gaming time this weekend as I’m seeing friends. What time I do get will be continuing my second BG3 playthrough.
I found myself in a bit of a dilemma as I've finished lords of the fallen and I wanted something a bit more shooty but I wanted something a bit looty and grindy so I dropped the hammer on remnant 2 as I liked the first game a lot and whilst only a couple of hours in I'm hooked already. Looks damn nice too. Have a great weekend folks 👍
Still addicted to powerwash simulator. Then maybe some snowrunner if I manage to grab the platinum today.
PSVR 2
Resident Evil 4
Wow, just wow. I've played the original about a dozen times, and even in VR via Quest, but this is by far the best I've experienced it. Lovely graphics, great gameplay, and addictive loot/upgrade loop, this is top tier VR.
Song in the Smoke
It took a while but I am hooked on this one. Its a rare case too, i cant stand survival games, but in VR im addicted. Finished the third map and managed to finally take out a giant Jaguar. The interactions and tools in this are so well thought out and immersive.
PS5
Fist of the Northstar: Lost Paradise
Anime adaptation from Yakuza devs that's pretty faithful so far, the action is fun and straight from the source but there's ton of goofy filler. A decent time waster although not close to devs famous series.
I wanted a pallet cleanser after Robocop and nothing too big before Xmas so I gave Humanity a go and man is this game good, definitely in my top 6/7 this year. Just done the Yellow core so almost there and probably got 90% Goldys
Will give it a go in VR when my PSVR2 arrives off Santa but do you play as the dog or is it just an overview kind of experience?
Still chugging along in Final Fantasy 14. I’m about to not be a sprout anymore!
Cyberpunk on ps5. 3rd time starting it as previously i could not get into it due to bugs and all the widely reported poor systems like the police.
Really enjoying it this time and could end up being one of top 20 all time games. Just alot of fun
Might not get much gaming time this weekend, but what I do get will be spent in Resi4 VR. What an awesome game!
Need a break from powerwash. I was going to play cutesy Chrimbo games (Deaths Door, Tunic, Lumo), but instead I’m bashing in Zombie skulls in the original Dying Light so there you go
Assassin's Creed Mirage: As is obvious by my profile picture, I'm a big AC fan, particularly old school, and the series has fallen off the wagon a bit lately.
This seems to be a return to form so far though, with impressive improvements in the right places and a great locale. Here's hoping.
Ps5 I reinstalled God Of War Ragnarok to give Valhalla a go, Spider-man 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. On Laptop/Series X Like A Dragon Gaiden Akame network missions, Trepang2 and Condemned criminal origins
Playing as Awyn, my half elf monk in Baldur's Gate 3. Loving it.
Nothing today. I'm going to a whiskey distillery for a tour and to stock up for Christmas.
Tomorrow I'll be back playing Valhalla in God of War though. I'm loving that mode.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Resident Evil 4 VR Mode.
Playing like a dragon on pc. Also got Pioneers of Pagonia. And I'm also playing neverwinter on PS4. But I need a break from that crappy game haha.
Off for xmas now so going to resart bg3 foind it really hard so going to start with new character. Any tips would be greatfully received on how to play i just get hammered all the time good game just hard lol. Also some more resi 4 vr loving it
I am now finished work until Jan 3rd, today is a busy day but the wife is away for a day out with her friends tomorrow so I will be restarting BG3 and dedicating my free time during the break to playing through it.
Have a cracking weekend all!
I've been laid up with some bad ass flu and never even made it out of bed yesterday. I ended up playing a bit of vice city on my phone through Netflix. Combination of smaller screen and original lighting means this looked way better than the San andreas remaster did at launch. I'm hoping I'm up to some Dead Space Remake or blasphemous 2 but realistically, I'll be lucky to handle some more vice city. Have a better weekend than me folks!
I've went back to cyberpunk on PS5 not got much of the story left then i can finally start Phantom Liberty and I'm hoping to finish Alan Wake 2 this weekend. On Xbox I'm playing Return to Arkham Asylum and Starfield nearing the end of both of those too.
After a couple of hours of easy work, No Man's Sky second of four Expedition replays is happening now, and then doing some more experimenting with the PSVR on PC. AC: Odyssey is pretty smooth, SR: 4 is a bit janky, but FUN when it works. Haven't done much with Cyberpunk yet - waiting on a fix for cars post 2.1 (for the VR-ish injector, flat is perfectly fine). Skyrim on PCVR (I built a custom modlist) is of course a billion times better than the PS4 VR version, and I found THAT to be pretty good for what it is. I must on my 10th playthrough, might actually finish the main quest this time around. Good times with some fun games today and tomorrow!
Like a dragon: yakuza: like a dragon: the man without a nameface, Chrono cross and some Grandia.
@Shepherd_Tallon which whiskey?
Continuing my way through the campaign in God of War: Ragnarok. This game is phenomenal. Every realm you travel to feels very otherworldy and honestly I can’t help but stop and stare at how amazing everything looks. I really admire the level design that Sony Santa Monica has going on with these newer entries; essentially an interwoven Metroidvania world that keeps opening up more as you go along.
Just like in GoW 2018, the combat feels weighty and very satisfying. It’s way more my style personally than Spider-Man 2 which is the last game I’ve played.
Can’t wait to catch up to everyone else and try out the new Valhalla DLC eventually, but I’m in no rush, and am really just enjoying my time with this one.
A little Crypt of the Necrodancer on the side of course to keep from getting rusty.
Happy gaming everyone.
Just started my first playthrough of Elden Ring. I'm loving the exploration. It's great to be able to just roam around freely, discover secrets, uncover hidden areas, and just find lots of really cool stuff. The combat is what I expected from this series, which is a good thing. Overall having a great time.
Still Monster Hunter World Iceborne Rise. MH has gotta be one of the most spectacularly animated games ever.
Mrs is at her Xmas party tonight so I'll be flailing around the living room with asgards wrath 2 on the quest 3
@Boucho11 Fercullen. It's the only one made in our county.
tbh it's not my favourite, but a distillery with a tour is always fun.
Still playing FF14, hopefully will catch up on story before new expansion!
Im gonna be cracking on with getting 100% in Forspoken, which from the looks of it might take a few weeks because the map is unnecessarily large. Also I’ll be playing some co-op Return to Moria with the girlfriend while having a few drinks.
Spiderman 2 which I must say is a big disappointment so far. Admittedly im only about 6 hours in but this game wants you to be everything BUT Spiderman ! Want to do mind numbing seed puzzles and grow rooftop gardens ? Want to do boring 'light mirror' puzzles ? Well here ya go ....and no I don't want to attend more crimes in progress 5 seconds after the last one. Hoping it improves
Also playing The Crew Motorfest which is great fun
Have a great weekend guys and gals ❤️
GOW:R Valhalla some efootball24 & I’d like to make some more progress in Final Fantasy IX.
I don’t know what it is with FF9, but outside of Tetra Master it hasn’t really grabbed me. It’s just Ok.
Playing that new Avatar game which looks glorious. May give Terminator Resistance a try as I enjoyed RoboCop quite a bit. Finally I will play a bit of Sonic Dream Team on the phone.
Weighing up whether to buy Alan Wake 2 or Baldur's gate 3 for my Christmas game. Tough one. I think Wake is more my type of game and I'm interested in seeing how nice it looks from a technical perspective. But I'm also fascinated to see what all the fuss is about with regards to Baldur's. Tempted to just drop the dough on both in all honesty.
Alan Wake 2 completely took over my life. Its breathtaking! I cant believe it didnt win GoTY, and im saying that as a huge BG fan.
I bought a lot of cheap spyro games for wii & ds including the legend of spyro trilogy. I already beat a new beginning and now playing through the eternal night. They're short games so I believe I will be done with the trilogy this weekend. Other than that I will also be playing tekken 8 demo.
I didn’t play much Lies of P when it came out because of other massive games releasing so have got back into that on gamepass recently. On the PS will be continuing with Valhalla and Alan Wake 2 which is getting better and better.
I'm going hard on the gaming front this weekend and I love it.
PS5: Alan Wake 2 & GoWR Valhalla
Series X: Baldur's Gate 3
Switch Oled: TotK & Metroid Dread
Tried playing the new Avatar game. But after an hour into it, I stopped playing it.The game didn’t click with me & I also ended up skipping the cutscenes. I’m also not a fan of the avatar movies. It’s a shame as I thought it had far cry vibes to it, it’d be interesting enough for me to play through. So I’m just back to playing Mario wonder instead.
Some runs in God of War R Valhalla, it's so engaging, easy to pick and play!! Must advance in Yakuza Kiwami 2 as well, it's been weeks... If time allows it, I will give a go in either AC Valhalla or Final Fantasy XVI. Lots of games to play!!
Playing Avatar FoP, and not sure what I think of it so far. Yes it looks gorgeous, but certain game elements are annoying me. Having to find certain foods for quests can feel like a chore. Even having to regularly eat yourself is irritating. I also sometimes find that it’s not always clear where you have to go or who you have to speak to for a quest. I’m hoping that once I get my Ikran and the world opens up I’ll start enjoying it more.
Diablo 4. My build has become all powerful, I’m currently level 85, and I’ve been blasting through nightmare dungeons and getting even more stronger.
Uninstalled The Finals last night. The drop off from the initial few days of having fun was pretty severe for me. As it is at the moment, is nothing more than an infuriating bullet sponge and poorly balanced game. You can get the first shots on others with a more powerful gun and still end up second best. The respawn timer is another gripe. you can be timed out for 15 seconds or so and if the other squad members die in that time you get another 20+ seconds added to your wait. I could go on but it’s uninstalled
Tempted to buy the Return to Arkham collection this weekend or buy Alan Wake 2
I’m having a blast with my rerun of Gran Turismo 7. Lots of single player content now. I’ll probably start with Alan Wake Remastered as well, since I want to play AW2 in the future and my PS Plus is running out.
Among other PS Plus games I want to play in the next six months are Scarlet Nexus, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Humanity.
Im playing the incredible one of the best games ever made in the instant classic divinity original 2 definitive edition.its a amazing game.im playing as a male wizard.the magic is excellent.the graphics is wonderful.the gameplay is excellent.the story is wonderful.the boss fights is excellent.its one of the best rpgs ever made.and i will be playing another instant classic rpgs in the excellent and one of the best games ever made in octopath traveler 2.oswald is the best out all the protagonist.im playing Oswald story.the graphics is excellent.the boss fights is wonderful.the magic is incredible.the story is excellent.i will be watching my boston Celtics💚🖤 play.i will be watching my Pittsburgh Steelers 💛🖤 play also.i will be watching legendary sitcoms tv 📺 comedy shows in Sanford and son and saved by the bell.word up son
I’m playing Inscryption and maaaaaybe I’ll start Death Stranding.
I’m in a bit of a pre Christmas slump at the moment, counting down the last few days of work. So I’m thinking of tackling some shorter games on my backlog like A short hike and Lil gator game. Before Yakuza infinite wealth drops in Jan.
I'm playing some more Hitman: World of Assassination and some Muse Dash, which are basically my current go-to games when I'm not playing anything specific. It's probably also a good weekend for me to get started on another game.
@Shepherd_Tallon Wicklow man then 😂
I’m playing Arizona Sunshine on my PSVR2 might try some more AC Mirage and some of the MW3 trial to unlock some weapons for WZ
Asgard's Wrath 2! Put in about 2 hours into it yesterday and excited to sink my teeth into it over the weekend.
A few hours into FF16, enjoying it so far. Other than FF7 Remake this is my first FF game. Wish the combat was less button mashy but looks great and story is intriguing. Also want to dive into GOW DLC a bit. These two will likely keep me busy over the holidays.
i’m playing THE FINALS
Hiking and television after hiking is done. Also some Diablo 4 but under two hours or even one a day.
@Terra_Custodes Awsome game. I am mostly a multiplayer games type of a gamer but GoT was awsome Didn't complete the DLC though... coz i am mostly an online player
Have fun. Great game.
Nearing the end of Alan Wake 2 and maybe a bit of Tears of the Kingdom, which is finally holding my attention.
My buddy is coming over today so we might play some Animal Party while kicked back with some drinks too or we’ll be playing The Reckoners board game.
@nomither6 it's so great isn't it 😮💨
They somehow even improved on the beta although I haven't played since the patch.
@Boucho11 Guilty as charged 😂😂
My eldest wants to show me Rocket Racing later. Secretly looking forward to it
Cyberpunk 2077
I've been at my second playthrough of the game for about a month now and I see it going on for quite some time. I'm ok with that since it's one of my favorite games of this console generation.
@Marquez Ubisoft’s lawyers will be knocking on your door any moment now for breaching the NDA 😉 seriously though, is it MP only or can you play it SP?
@Nightcrawler71 closes curtains, turns off all the lights
I've not been forced into multiplayer, been playing the early quests solo.
The trinity of Lords of the Fallen, Baldur’s Gate 3, and PowerWash Simulator are at my disposal.
I started a NG+ run of Alan Wake 2 for the new story bits but decided I’d wait until I cleared out a few other games before diving back in.
Despite completing Echoes of the Fallen DLC and wanting to start GoWR: Valhalla DLC I'm getting back in the groove with Star Ocean The Second Story R on PS5 instead. Hope to play some more tonight when the Misses and I return from the England vs West Indies Cricket match.
Game on!
@Cherip-the-Ripper it’s a pretty cool game
@playstation1995 FINALLY someone else is giving Octopath Traveler 2 a try! Oswald is the best IMO followed by Temenos. Ochette may seem annoying but her monster collecting is gamechanging. Enjoy!
I’ll be playing a bit of Resident Evil 5 with a buddy. I reckon this is the 4th time I’ve played it through over the years, we’re doing it on veteran this time - it’s not too tough really, although it seems enemies hit pretty hard. Around chapter 5 so not much left. There really aren’t many co-op experiences that match this, and it’s actually got me looking forward to a remake (as long as they keep the co-op stuff, that is).
Yesterday I got the platinum trophy for Terminator Resistance: Enhanced Edition on the PS5. I recently got the platinum trophy for Teyon’s RoboCop: Rogue City as well. I really enjoyed the latter and wanted to give their previous game a shot. I’m so glad I did. And I have a lot to say, so apologies for the long diatribe.
To me, Resistance has the best Terminator story since T2, which isn’t a hard thing to accomplish but it’s still worth noting. The characters are intriguing, and there are some role-playing elements, albeit shallow, that really provide world building and depth to characters. There are dialogue options that really expound on backstories in ways I wasn’t expecting a AA game in this franchise to do.
The game also has that PS3/Xbox 360-era feel. It reminds me of the Resistance and Metro games in terms of gunplay and atmosphere. There are decayed buildings, underground safe havens, and people trying to survive a futile world.
One aspect I like is exploration. I am a big fan of games that are separated by different levels and feature a semi-open world to scavenge. There are notes littered about that provide world building to the barren wasteland and the inhabitants that once lived there. And there’s always something rewarding — for example; a very powerful sniper rifle was in an abandoned building behind a locked door that you can pick.
I’ve always preferred games to have a more linear structure. It’s a great way of keeping things constrained so you don’t feel overwhelmed by the difficult of some of the enemies, such as the T-800s and T-47s.
Lastly, the OST is phenomenal, from the track playing in the main menu screen all the way to the tension filled moments when T-800s are sprawled out throughout the environments. The music feels futuristic, and adds a sense of dread and adrenaline that meshes into a perfect harmony that feels like Terminator.
Now, the game isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination. Graphically, there’s a lot to be desired. Textures are muddy, and character models aren’t the best. The voice acting is also not too great; it seems rushed a lot, with poor lip syncing and facial animations. The writing is actually quite good, but the execution in how it’s delivered falls flat.
Another gripe is the amount of resources you find. Although I love exploring and scavenging for items, there seems to be an over abundance of it. Its novelty wears thin after a while. And with resources comes crafting — a system that I enjoy but is quite shallow at its core. The weapon upgrade mechanic is cool, but it’s way too limited. I would have loved to see it expand to all weapons such as being able to create scopes, lasers, silencers, or terminator knives to attach on your weapon to act as a bayonet.
Regardless of my few minor grievances, this game is an underrated gem. I wonder what Teyon has next up their sleeve because they are a solid studio. In fact, it would be great to see Sony acquire them because they deserve to create games with a bigger budget. Their love for the 80s and early 90s shines super bright, and I can only imagine what they are capable of when given the right opportunity.
I’ll probably play a bit of Battle Chef Brigade, which I love dearly. I’d put off buying it since it released in 2017, even though I really enjoyed the demo, but there was always something else, wasn’t there? I was playing it in tandem with Baldur’s Gate 3 as a palette cleanser for those long sessions, but now I sort of feel like I actually prefer playing this little gem instead.
Maybe I’ll do some BG3 too since I’ve brought it up.
And oh yes, even though I played through that Tekken demo, I quite liked it and may do a couple more VS matches for fun.
Welp, I can't continue my career in WRC23 due to Thursday's patch breaking the game for everyone, so I guess it's more Rogue Trader (which got a big 12 gig patch yesterday) and Cookie Cutter.
Finished Metal Gear Solid 1. What an amazing game. I'm playing around in Metal Gear for a bit cause my main game rn is Shin Megami Tensei V on switch. Was hoping a port to PS would come sooner than later, but it was $20 so I caved. So far so good
@thebizniznizbiz ....get 'em both. Christmas 🎄 sorted 😉
Ice Age Village (Windows Phone) - Doing dailies and building my town.
Chickens Can't Fly (Windows Phone) - Finishing this up this weekend.
Plants vs. Zombies (Windows Phone) - Now starting on minigames.
@kyleforrester87 you ever played army of two ?its another multiplayer co-op classic from the amazing 7th generation
Just Hogwarts atm. Enjoying it a lot so far but that could change depending on how these so called collectables become a slog towards the platinum. Hoping to get a good 8 hours in on it later this afternoon and this evening, once the boring cleaning chores are done
Witcher 3 PS5 and TLoU Part 2 remastered throughout Jan and Feb. Also Teardown inbetween those two and maybe 2 or 3 more slightly smaller PS Plus games
50/50 on installing Ragnarok for Valahalla, very tempted. Most likely save it for next year. Also MGS collection vol 1 saving for next year once many more patch updates. Just really nice to have MGS on modern consoles for whenever feel the sneaky nostalgia again
I'll be playing the Tekken 8 demo and probably some of the scarlet & violet dlc. Have a great weekend folks 😄🤘
@nomither6 no, shame as I wouldn’t be able to now on ps4/5.
Bought the world snooker game as it was cheap in a sale and really got into it so will have a couple of frames in that with my mate
Bayonetta 3 on the Switch
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora – since last week I´ve mainly been playing Avatar and I must say I really like it. First off, it looks amazing. There have been some jaw dropping wow moments so far, like the first time you exit the tunnel and step out in the jungle, the first time its night (memerizing), first time getting on your Ikran… its just a very good looking game and running through the dense jungle makes for great immersion imo. As far as the gameplay goes, hunting, fishing and gathering fruits and resources feels like a natural part of the life on Pandora where as in the Far Cry games it can feel a little wierd and out of place and plastered on. Its also cool imo that the pollution and damage the facilities and factories does to the nature is very obvious and it feels really good to blow them up and see the jungle return to normal. The gun/bowplay could be a little bit sharper but its ok. The story is also ok, but the star of the game imo is Pandora itself. Cant wait to play more 😊
I’m still working on getting 100% on all of the COD’s on my profile. I’m currently 3 trophies away from being finished with one of the absolute best zombies offerings out there which is WW II. Caught me by surprise just how solid and fun of an experience it really is!
Beyond that I’m still grinding out 50K kills in the new MW3 and trying to clear space on my HDD so I can get to Spider-Man 2, GOD OF WAR - Ragnarok: Valhalla and CYBERPUNK 2077: Phantom Liberty.
@3Above. I agree Oswald is the best.i like ochette.temenos is cool also.octopath traveler 2 got some amazing protagonists.i been playing it for a couple of months. word up son
F.E.A.R. 3 and Gotham Knights.
If anyone’s interested in Remnant 2 it’s on 40% discount for PSN (£29.99), just playing an Umbrella run of Deaths Door (fantastic little game!) while remnant downloads
@KingPev Cheers man, think that's the shout!
I’m super-hooked on reading Stephen King books right now. I finished Misery earlier in the week and am currently halfway through The Stand….which has left little time for gaming at present. However I did find some time to get a few rounds of Conquest in on Battlefield V.
PS5: God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla —> Fantastic game really missed Mimir (smartest man alive)
PSVR2: Gran Turismo 7, VR really elevated this game for me. This in combination with my wheel and pedals and you’ve got an awesome experience
Now with Christmas looking whether to buy Resident evil 4 (mainly for VR),Spider-Man 2, Arizona sunshine 2, Bulders gate 3 or Alan Wake 2 (never bought the first one).. I know what a list (will definitely buy Blood & Wine expansion for Witcher 3).
Also bought a good whiskey 🥃. Happy gaming all!
@Shepherd_Tallon. Is it Powerscourt Distillery? Should be a lovely time. Ah, Pot still whiskey.
@Stevemalkpus That's it! We had the 21 year old whiskey at the end. Wasn't expecting it to taste that good.
@Marquez cool, cheers 👍 I was sent a closed beta code, but don’t really have time to play it right now.
Super Meat Boy deathless runs... Pain and suffering.
Also Valhalla, which is awesome.
Persona 5 Tactica. Yes, the story isn’t revolutionary or anything. But it’s a whole lot of fun IMO. Worth a try if you like Persons 5
Playing GT7 in VR, it is awesome. Now I am very tempted to get a wheel for the game.
On the side some Switch games with my niece, MK8 and Mario Wonder.
I finally finished Elden Ring, guys! it only took 3 months/170hrs... never played any game so long and what surprised me is that I never lost a passion for the game and motivation to finish it even when I had bad days and barely any progress in there. Right now easily got into my TOP3 and looking forward to DLC.
For next, I´ll be playing Separate Ways and some Bloodborne. Looking forward to LivFC vs ManU match tomorrow, hope we´ll see good match...
Happy gaming, colleagues!
Well, I was waiting for this weekend for a while...
I am off from work till January, I already bought God of War Ragnarok on Black Friday, I downloaded DLC too.
Finger crossed, I will have s good time like the previous game storyline was. Or better😀
Playing ghost recon breakpoint PvP telling myself this is as close to Socom is I’m going to get before my gaming days are over lol.
I feel you, there is nothing quite like Socom, big thanks to Zipper and Sony for effing that up.
@trymer89 Tell us how it went for you!
I'm in the same boat as you : big fan of the franchise since the first AC on PS3, with my favorites being AC2, Unity and Origins. Odyssey was already getting tiresome for me, and Valhalla was a chore to finish (couldn't bother with the expansions!).
I thought Miracle would be a return to old school AC gameplay... and it is. But sadly, it is also very boring. After close to 6-7 hours of playing it, I just can't see any reason to continue : the characters are clichés and not charismatic, the story is as basic as you can and the city makes you feel you've seen it all with AC1 and Origins already. But maybe I should power through a few hours more, just in case something happen to make the game interesting...
Finished my second playthrough of Baldur's Gate 3 (an evil Dark Urge one, no less), and now switching between Teardown (since the "invert Y" toggle has finally been added) and Spider-Man (to prepare for SM2, which I plan to play and finish during the holidays!).
God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla is such an amazing gift from Sony Santa Monica. I hadn’t played the base game since January, but the controls came right back to me and it has been a blast. I’m really thankful that we got an epilogue to the Norse saga. I haven’t finished the story part yet but I’m loving the allusions to his past.
@Shepherd_Tallon I'm going to a whiskey distillery for a tour and to stock up for Christmas
Ohhh nice. Love me a good whisky. Any recommendations?
@Kidfunkadelic83 well I just woke up and I'm blind drunk still, so it turns out Fercullen isn't that bad actually.
But for whiskey I'll always recommend Tullamore Dew 12. That's my favourite.
And I'll never admit this again because I'm Irish, but Talisker 10 is probably the nicest you'll get for the price if you prefer whisky/Scotch.
Forspoken. I kept putting it off, but Im really enjoying it... dont judge me!
Hope you are enjoying whatever your playing!
Yesterday I started and finished the Singularity expedition in No Man's Sky and today I'll be back on with Baldur's Gate 3, act 3 is slowly coming to a close I think, wrapping up a bunch of quests and hit lvl 12... Doubt I'll be finished before crimbo though.
Yesterday I finished the God of War DLC (I despise the roguelite genre, but I couldn't resist not knowing the story elements included in it... so I set the difficulty to low to mitigate the roguelite elements and the whole experience was exactly like the main game - finished it in about 5 hours).
Today I plan to continue my trek through Lords of the Fallen... already cleansed 2 beacons, 3 more to go - overall a very good game !
P.S. I realize the bizzare duality of "avoiding tough combat in God of War DLC only to go ahead and enjoy a Soulslike" but I don't like losing already earned perks and upgrades upon death, only to go through the same areas bare-ass naked so to speak until I get them again... At least in a souls game, when you die you lose only currency (be that souls, runes, blood echoes etc), the rest of your possessions are still available to use.
Ghost of Tsushima and continuing RDR2, been some time since a game captivated me like RDR2, it’s fantastic
@Shepherd_Tallon nice, man. I like irish whisky. Dalmore is a nice whisky too. I will look up those ones you mentioned.
Alrighty bit of a interesting week this week. To start with of course this weekend was full of Indigo Disk and man is it one heck of a time so far. Definitely a toughie of a DLC but won’t lie I’m liking it more then The Teal Mask so far. Also got to have some excellent matches in Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising with a friend and that is just a absolutely excellent fighting game. (shoutout Ouji_Senpai.) Gotta say think my main is gonna be Vira or Yuel. As for tonight and tomorrow actually I’m thinking of skimping on switch gaming I definitely wanna do some Super Mario RPG like I voted on but tonight I’m going to see The Boy and The Heron with my best friend and I’m really excited for that and then thinking afterwards will just be some low key Like A Dragon Gaiden time I ain’t played it in like two weeks. IM FINALLY FREE OF MORNING SHIFTS. Except for Wednesday but that’s it. So I look forward to wrapping up Alan Wake II this week as that game has just turned absolutely stellar. And otherwise I really just wanna zone in hard on some FFXVI. Would really like to beat it by Christmas and I’m 88% of the way there so here’s hoping I can do it. Otherwise most of the week is gonna just be some minor switch games like Star Ocean 2 and Persona 5 Tactica and some minor PS5 games like some more matches and story mode of Granblue. Honestly now it’s about time to start writing up the top 10 lists for the year. Very excited to share those. As for anime of the week again it’s the excellent quartet of Eminence in Shadow, Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren and Spy X Family. Getting close to the end of the season and the end of a lot of those shows so here’s hoping for excellent finishes for a lot of them. Podcasts of the week of course are Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into the Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Nextlander and Friends Per Second. Without saying why I can now comfortably stamp that one with approval for the foreseeable future. Also for anyone who saw last weeks journal where I shouted out a special friend and their redebut stream that stream was absolutely stellar and I just wanna shout them out again so y’all can still go give them love on the daily. That would be my friend over at twitch.tv/akibread. As always y’all have a excellent weekend and Happy Gaming.
At the moment I'm starting to play Granblue Versus Rising and I'm enjoying the heck out of it. I still need to play Fate/Samurai Remmant, Wo Long, Fire Emblem Engaged and FF14 Endwalker but after that I will play all the Suikoden series.
I picked up Immortals if Aviam for $8 on SeriesX. I’m not sure why this game got over looked. So far I’m loving it! I’m now in chapter seven and it’s just a fun and kind of silly FPS but with magic. Actually it’s one of the more interesting games I’ve played this year. At least it’s not a sequel. We all want something new but when a new IP comes out nobody buys it. And we teach developers that all we want are sequels and remakes of the last of us. Definitely check this game out if you get the chance.
Not been really any time for gaming this weekend apart from couple hrs on the new truck and logistics sim on ps5 and I've really enjoyed it so far, just great to load, drive and deliver as it says on the box, great to relax to
I'm playing Judgment, jedi fallen order and some age of empires 2
@Olmaz It's true, the story doesn't actually reinvent the wheel. Your mileage will vary with the characters being somewhat lackluster and the plot following a relatively standard AC format and as such your enjoyment will invariably be determined by how interested you are in seeing Basim's gradual development to that of the character we met in Valhalla.
The gameplay, on the other hand, for me at least is great. Actual investigation of targets, a good-sized city to freerun across, and combat that is at the series' most difficult since Unity (as opposed to the ultra-easy combat of the RPGs) all hearken back to earlier entries and make it a solid, if not easy, recommendation for me.
@trymer89 I should give it another try then, maybe I wasn't in a good mindset to appreciate the return to the oldschool gameplay.
Thanks for the feedback mate!
@Titntin I liked forspoken.
@rusty82 Glad to hear it pal! I figured I couldnt be the only one 😁
