Another action-packed week has come to a conclusion, but it doesn't look like many of you will be playing the latest hot release, Skull & Bones. In fact, it's last week's hot new thing Helldivers 2 that's remaining incredibly popular among our team.
Aaron Bayne
Another weekend of spreading democracy! Helldivers 2 is just about the only thing I want to play at the moment. I just can’t get enough of it.
Jamie O'Neill
It's all sunshine and rainbows here — even if my family couldn't find a PS Portal as my birthday gift this weekend — because Arcade Archives Rainbow Islands includes Rainbow Islands Extra, so I can reminisce about playing the Mega Drive port in 1990 instead.
Liam Croft
I'm hoping to take a slight break from a project I'm working on to check out Helldivers 2 and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
Jade Sayers
This weekend I’ll be playing the next game on my backlog clearing resolution: Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. I remember playing it when it originally came out on PS3, and rage quitting because I got stuck so I’m hoping now I’m older, wiser, and slightly better at games that I’ll be more successful this time around!
Khayl Adam
After eons of waiting, I’ve finally managed to procure a PS Portal, and plan on putting it through its paces. I picked up Persona 3 Reload on a whim, and that should keep me occupied, at least until Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth arrives. It's going to be a cosy weekend on the couch!
Stephen Tailby
Once again, I can only really say I'm playing a couple of things for review purposes, but you'll see those write-ups pretty soon. I probably won't get time for much else this weekend, but if I do, it'll be Helldivers 2.
These are the games we're playing this weekend, but what about the rest of you? As always, share your gaming itinerary in the comments section below.

This weekend I will play Resident Evil VII. I have played the game only once
Finish up Batman Arkham Asylum, I am in Croc's Lair.
And I will try to get used to Resident Evil 3 tank controls again. I have never finished 2 or 3 (the classic ones).
Happy gaming!
Doing my bit for democracy! 🫡
Foamstars I absolutely LOVE the game ^__^🫧🫧🫧
Persona 3 Reload and Foamstars. Finally got to Gold rank in Foamstars.
Tekken 8, Street Fighter 6, Apollo Justice Ace Attorney Trilogy, and Tomb Raider Remaster Trilogy.
Still on my slow play through of the excellent TLOU2.
And bought The Cub for a change of pace. Loving it so far. Looks amazing
I'm actually playing two versions of the same game. Persona 3 Reload and Persona 3 Portable. It's a unique perspective playing Persona as a female protagonist.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3: I thoroughly enjoyed the first two entries and this is no different. Interlink is very interesting, as is the change into Ouroboros and the lore surrounding that, along with impressive visuals, affinity charts, and a new class system involving rotating heroes.
I'm only about twenty hours in, but I can confidently say this is one of the best JRPGs I have ever played.
I'll be wrapping up Persona 3 Reload after about 90ish hours. Brilliant remake and I'm glad I've got it done before Rebirth arrives!
I’ll be playing crisis cringe: final fantasy 7 UHD reunion remake till I get the platinum or my brain melts. I also downloaded honky rail star so i might check that out.
I'm continuing with Banishers: Ghost of New Eden. It might not be a AAAA game but so far I really like it.
Having finally got my platinum on Jedi Survivor (damn priorite shards!) I will be pledging the next 48 hours to saving citizens of super earth!
The best online fun I have had since the OG Destiny & way funnier!
Happy gaming citizens
Hubris mainly, with Blue Reflection on the Portal tonight
After a bumpy start with Prince of Persia (bit of a slow start, very talky and some cringy voice acting), the actual game itself is fantastic. Some Celeste level platforming and level design worthy of Symphony of the Night!
Have a good weekend folks!
@matekomlosi I like the look of that. Think I'll check it out at some point. Looks right up my street
I've been enjoying the original FF7 on PS4. Never actually completed it before but I'm nearing the end now. It's still a great game 27 years later
Climbing (hopefully😅) the ranks in Tekken 8. Have a great weekend folks 😄🤘
Some more Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, which is just brilliant fun and a very well made JRPG which highlights what we've lost with modern Final Fantasy games.
I'm also playing Tomb Raider Remastered and these games are like a breath of fresh air compared to modern games. No map markers, no hand holding, no messy hud, no talking to yourself or an annoying sidekick, just well designed levels that leave you alone with the tools at your disposal to explore them. Oh and the tank controls still work great
PS5 wise:
MGS 2
Star ocean second story r
Sonic superstars
Returnal
Start Valhalla rogue like mode of God of war ragnarok
Possibly start endless dungeon
PS4 wise:
ESO
Tunic
Star Wars republic commando
Klonoa 2
Possibly play a bit of Super Mario rpg remake on the switch
Ps5 Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth coming up on 50 hours alot of it spent on Dondoko Island. Banishers Ghosts of New Eden which reminds me of the Sherlock Holmes games. Persona 3 Reload aswell if I get time
On PS5 i will be playing HellDivers 2, Trails of Cold Steel 3, Granblue Fantasy Relink and I will give the Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon free to play game a try.
On Switch its Splatfest weekend so I will be playing Splatoon 3 and maybe some Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes
Back to Baldur's Gate Act 3, the gift that keeps on giving. Though all the people I play Destiny with appear to have bought Helldivers II so now there's that temptation...
For me it’s continuing persona 3 reload currently at beginning of October want to get it finished by rebirth, may also play some tekken 8 due to online being free this weekend to get the online trophies, haven’t refreshed PlayStation plus yet due to all the games since the start of the year
I have a few endgame missions left to do in Relink, then I'm jumping back into Helldivers for the double xp weekend.
Also, LEGENDARY TALES!
An ARPG on PSVR2 with King's Field vibes. If you've got PSVR2 check it out.
It's a little bit more expensive than I was expecting (55 euro) but it's the VR game I didn't realise I was waiting for.
It also has 4 player coop.
Still plodding along with RE4 remake. I’m struggling to get a longer play session in so it’s taking me ages doing little bits at a time.
It’s also the first game I’ve come across that I haven’t enjoyed playing on the PS Portal. I find it hard to see what’s going on and even harder to aim.
I've finally got round to playing Dishonored - loving the Thief/Deus Ex influences, the world building, and those visuals which manage to do a pretty good impression of an oil painting. Also been playing Inside, which was just as great (and haunting) as I'd hoped after playing Limbo years ago. Lastly, still dipping in and out of Tunic. I'm right at the end now, trying to puzzle out the last few secrets and work out what the heck 'The Golden Path' is. Letting my subconscious work on it 🤔
Tomb Raider Remastered
Tomb Raider Remaster Trilogy - it looks great and some of the original music is amazing, almost forgot though how easy it is to kill Lara if you aren't paying attention 😅 Also at the end of Tales of Arise - I have really enjoyed it and the dynamic of the group.
I'm currently at the back end of Persona 3 Reload. Hopefully I'll finish it today or tomorrow. If I do then it's onto Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
Arizona Sunshine 2 VR - finished the story. Had a really fun time with this game, so satisfying to pop zombie heads with the guns, or better yet use a machete
Ori and the Will of the Wisps - going slowly with this game. Love everything about it, except maybe that is a bit difficult at times in a way that doesnt add anything but frustration imo.
TLOU - So its finally time to replay the TLOU games. It´ll be the forth time playing part 1 from start to finish but only my second time playing part 2, which I havent touched since I platinumed it at release. Really looking forward to both games, they are so, so good imo. I started with Left Behind this time, and even if I know what happens it still gets to me. Going to be such an emotional ride this but an awesome one as well.
Ven VR adventure - Picked this up in the sale. Its pretty fun, well worth a look!
@Loamy
Don’t have the space and can’t put it on a external hard drive on the PS5 and play games off it like you can with PS4
I’ve started playing Reina on Tekken 8 this week and I’m obsessed. When I’m not getting my ass handed to me on ranked matches I will be playing Infinite Wealth and Helldivers 2…..as you can see my 2024 resolution of not buying games at launch is going swimmingly
I’m currently on my second to last case with Apollo Justice, and I’m looking forward to it being over sadly. I really enjoyed the original Ace Attorney and the great ace attorney, but this time around the cases haven’t been really grabbing my interest and the characters are just not as interesting. Afterwards, I’m looking to head back into Persona 3.
Sailing the skies with Granblue Fantasy Relink this weekend. Managed to briefly dip in yesterday and already loving it.
After Lords Of The Fallen (which I really enjoyed as well!), having a bright, colourful and surprisingly cheery world on the screen is a nice change, and so far the combat has been a joy.
With Final Fantasy Rebirth and Unicorn Overlord both pencilled in for next… now begins the JRPG-a-thon!
@Shepherd_Tallon I really want to play Legendary Tales, the reviews have been so positive and sounds like a really meaty game. Shame PushSquare haven’t reviewed it yet, since most out there are saying it’s one of the best experiences on PSVR2 around.
Have you played it single player? Does it work just as well?
My single player game will be Tomb Raider Remastered Trilogy. Loving it so far, despite the amount of times I’ve accidentally loaded a save instead of saving. The plan is to beat all the games and expansions in time for FFVII Rebirth.
Also be continuing Roots of Patcha co-op with my girlfriend, which is amazing! And between all that I’ll be squatting some bugs in Helldivers 2.
No Man's Sky as the trial for PS5/PSVR2 is available only this weekend <3
Helldivers 2 and a spot of granblue as well. I do have house of ninjas to watch on Netflix too. Have a great weekend folks 👍
I also have Ni No Kuni on my backlog! Left off about halfway through, for some reason and am eager to return (at last...)
I'm ending the main stories of Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Final Fantasy XVI. Almost wraping up the business storylines of Yakuza Kiwami 2 as well, soon moving to Yakuza 3. Maybe fit some The Witcher 3 too. I won't resist geting Tales of Arise through Ps Plus next week, so I must advance in the other games. I will game a lot this weekend!!
@NieR_Dark I played it very briefly just to get a feel for it, but I loved what little I tried.
I fought the first few enemies and left it at that because I could feel the game pulling me in, but the combat was as close to real frantic hack n slash as I've experienced in vr.
The only criticism I've heard is that there isn't much enemy variety, but apparently the weapon variety makes up for that.
If you want a proper look to make your mind up PSVR Underground has been playing it. The only thing I'll note is, like with most vr games, watching him fight is nowhere near the same as experiencing it for yourself.
@IndoorEnthusiast I had such a good set-up for getting the plat, but now I've mostly forgotten... Think basically it was something like, getting hp back on attacks, hi-jump, that move that's like a more powerful version of goblin punch and some mish-mash firaga spell that also cast silence, death and poison (overkill, I know). Specifically for the latter half of the sub-missions, it's basically necessary to also level up your sword skills to at least about 30-40% for extra damage. Good luck! 👍
@Shepherd_Tallon Awesome stuff! I’m kind of new to VR, and I very quickly realised that things look so much better in the headset than on screen! Haha.
It sounds excellent, and from what I understand the difficulty isn’t too taxing once you get to grips with it. My only concern is playing it single player. Also looks like a bit of a workout so I guess that’s good 😂.
Hopefully they can add to it if it’s successful enough, so fingers crossed for more enemies on the horizon.
With Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth finally finished my attention is now turned onto Persona 3 Reload which I am very much enjoying. It heavily improves on the original and the gameplay is so much better which is one of the issues I had with the original. Just hope I can beat it in time for FF7 Rebirth
@NieR_Dark It's definitely going to be a workout! 😂I had this thought too.
50hrs in AC:Valhalla, just a few more counties to go then it’ll be on to something new. May even give Helldivers 2 a go even though I’m a single player gamer.
Have a great gaming weekend everyone!
Definitely more Helldivers 2, and probably keep working towards the Plat for Granblue Fantasy Relink.
Im still playing the amazing sekiro shadows die twice.the excellent ratchet and clank 2016.the awsome days gone and the incredible divinity original sin 2 definitive edition.i will be watching the nba all star.i saw scream 7.i really enjoyed it.i l🖤ve the plot twist in cream 7.i will be watching legendary sitcoms 📺 tv shows in Sanford and son.good times.and saved by the bell.word up son
Final Fantasy VII remake quick re-run and Tekken!
@Bentleyma I wish I had your stamina!
@ApostateMage I wish the female protagonist was in Reload, she is so cool! And the female perspective is nice for a change in these dating (kinda) heavy games
I'm kind of stuck in a weird place where I'm waiting for The Outer Worlds to hit PS Plus. I could definitely go for a bit of that type of game this weekend, but I will wait.
So probably some Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and maybe just some old favourites for a bit of low energy chill time where I don't have to follow any story or look to advance anything in particular.
FF7 Remake ended up on the back burner, so maybe get back on that.
Also, trying to work out if the NBA All-Star Dunk Contest will be on League Pass in the UK or not 😅
PS5: Bloodborne
This game is really fantastic! I tried it on the ps4 but i think the loading times were a lot longer. Moreover, after playing a lot of VR games (RE:village, light brigade and Walking dead saints and sinners) the game is not spooky anymore (still what’s up with the dogs in this game… harder hitting than bosses).
I’m as far as I’ve ever been in FFVI, so will now grind some before final dungeon and battle, and hopefully be done before Rebirth. Also, near the end of chapter 3 of Trails of Cold Steel 3.
Very busy this next 10 days I'll mainly hop on for quick matches of Foamstars
Still need to get into Granblue Fantasy Relink endgame. Happy gaming everybody!
I'm deep into Avatar (nearly 70 hours) and still enjoying it!Not sure how much I have to go but it feels like I could be nearing the end..
I have the times trial for Dead Island 2 to play which I'm very excited for, just hope it's more enjoyable than the Spiderman 2 trial..seriously I think these games are way over rated.I played both Spider-Man and Miles Morales but having to listen to their mindless chatter all the time is tedious! I still find the new Peter Parker face model pretty odd but maybe that's just me.I will still buy it at some point when it's incredibly cheap.
This weekend it's time for some artifact and puzzle pieces clean-up in Astro's Playroom in my son's playthrough - he plays for the most part, and if he hits a difficult area, then it's "dad to the rescue" 💪
As for myself, I'm continuing my trek through AC Mirage, which turns out to be a better game than I was expecting after Valhalla...
Also bought Last Epoch in preparation for next week's launch, can't wait for the final version to go live.
Have a fun weekend everyone!
@JamieO Great to see a shout out for Rainbow Islands. Just an absolutely charming game with mechanics that still seem fresh today. Have a great birthday hanging out with Bub and Bob!
Death Stranding Directors Cut. Made it to edge knot city and just defeated the big BT. Think its act 10 or possibly 9? The story is very interesting and I have even found the gameplay fun. It may be a walking sim kind of, but I have enjoyed it none the less. Especially the firing range its been fun getting the S rank on them all.
On PS5 I'll be jumping back in to Helldivers 2 and maybe go back to Alan Wake 2. On Xbox I've just finished RE3 remake first RE game I've ever completed because I'm usually a coward with horror games.
I'm playing Zelda Breath of the Wild
Endling: Extinction is forever. Its a nice game and worth checking out.
HellDivers 2 if I can get into a server! For Democracy!
Otherwise the, so far, excellent Banishers from Don’tNod.
This weekend I’m playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The PS1 title is a seminal experience that I felt was fine the way it is. Somehow, the remake managed to subvert my expectations and really expand on what made the original so whimsical.
First and foremost, Cloud Strife really is a great character. I love his stoic personality. His past is ominous and you can tell he has been through a lot that has affected him because when it comes down to business at hand he is steadfast and ready to go. He is quipped with one-liners that shows how hardened he is as an Ex-SOLDIER, but the supporting characters around him essentially force him to soften his shell, albeit unwillingly at times.
As for other characters, they all have unique personalities with interpersonal stories that have you invested immediately through story missions that focus on them personally. And you can feel their motivations and comradery—they feel like a real team. One thing that stands out are the unique personality traits of the female protagonists.
Jessie, for example, is energetic and bubbly. She seemingly won’t take no for an answer, and is an act first, think later type of woman. And she’s good at using her appealing magnetism to benefit her necessities. Tifa is an optimist but also grounded. She battles between what’s right and wrong, but remains diligent in her decisions. She has a sense of maturity that the other characters don’t. And then there is Aerith, whom has this nonchalant attitude, with humorous jokes and an irresistible disposition and innocence that makes you want to protect her, even though she can clearly handle herself.
The story is fantastic, too. It balances telling two stories at once. The remake takes place in a small section of the original - Midgar - and it tells the story of how a ragtag crew of eco-terrorists are trying to stop a mega-corporation from draining the world of its essence in order to to use its energy source as a form of profit. That’s the basis of the game, and yet the remake manages to tell this portion of the story in a full blown game that feels complete even though this section is a minor fraction of the main game.
My only quibble is the combat. The action is fun, snappy and responsive, but I have a difficult time managing several party members, their health, abilities, and positioning. It seems to me the combat is unbalanced because the game essentially forces you to be on the offensive in order to use your ATB — this also includes abilities, magic, and items such a health potions, phoenix downs, etc.; so it’s easy to get overwhelmed with a ton of enemies while trying to manage defense simultaneously.
Thankfully, this remake is sublime. It stays true to its roots and keeps the spirit of the original FF7 in tact, but includes smart, yet subtle changes that only enhance the modern experience. I didn’t appreciate the remake as much when I first played it back in 2020, but now I see the game through a much different lens. I could say a lot more because I’ve only scratched the surface, and the character limit won’t allow me to say much more. I’ll end my diatribe with this: FF7R is a prodigious game, and is a must if you’re a fan of the franchise. Bring on Rebirth.
@NieR_Dark How's Lords of the Fallen running? I really want to try it out once I finish Sekiro later this year
Enjoying taking my time with Jedi Survivor and playing on an easier difficulty. Next on the backlog is Dead Space remake.
Only upcoming release I’m interested in is Rise
of the Ronin. Not familiar with devs previous games, is Ronin likely to have difficulty settings??
I’ll be playing the original Tomb Raider. Loved it back in the day and having a blast at the moment revisiting the game. I’ll move on to the second when I beat the first.
Everything else cleared so tonight I start Resident Evil 4. Looking forward to. 👍🏻
I'm about 8 hours in to Persona 3 Reload, and it's excellent. I bought the original Persona 3 when it came out on PS2 and lost interest a few hours in. Cool to revisit it and already be further than I got before. Not in any hurry at all to finish as there aren't really any games I'm interested in grabbing day one until Trails through Daybreak. I also have Reverie and Octopath Traveler II on the shelf.
I might take a quick romp through Resident Evil 3 (1999). It's been a while since I played it. I realized last weekend that I hadn't ever cleared Resident Evil 2 Remake Claire B on hardcore, so I did that last weekend - always a great game to revisit.
Dragonball Z Kakarot and Banishers. Enjoying both.
Still grinding my way through One Piece Odessey and enjoying it.
Whatever you are playing, have a great weekend.
I forgot just how big Horizon Forbidden West is! On my second play through right now with around 32 hours played and I’m still nowhere near the end. Mainly mixing it up between main and side quests and really enjoying it.
Also playing Astral Ascent which is also very good so far.
Not planning on buying anymore new games now until Expeditions (A Mudrunner game) comes out.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss (Vita) - I strongly disliked that canoe segment...
Jet Car Stunts (Windows Phone) - I just started after finishing Daxter.
Lode Runner Classic (Windows Phone) - Still continuing my playthrough of this.
Might pick of MK1 after playing at a friend's and loving it despite the ass-kicking he game me. Or finish the grindy final chapters of OT2. Less than two weeks until Rebirth and the wait is killing me.
@iPaud I really enjoyed it! It has a few different mechanics from Souls in terms of the Umbral lamp, which leads to some pretty cool puzzle sections.
I did have some major framerate drops though, especially in areas with large groups of enemies.
Overall though, I thought it was a decent game, and definitely scratches that itch if you’re looking for a new Souls-like experience
Just have one trophy left in Jedi Survivor (a rather grindy one at that) for platinum and then I’m on to Rollerdrome.
Mostly playing the Tomb Raider Remastered trilogy. I'm also playing through The Crew before the servers get shut down at the end of March. The Crew is similar to Need For Speed, but with the feel of a generic overworld Ubisoft game. I wouldn't recommend it.
Little bit more of jedi survivor on ps5 but mostly wii games this weekend. Got the emulator sorted on the steamdeck using the wiimotes and a dolphin bar so playing through the catalogue
I want to be spreading democracy with my fellow Helldivers, but I can't stand all the glitches and connection issues the game is suffering.
I'm "settling" for some Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor. I'm not all that mad. Game is FANTASTIC.
I’m hoping to start Banishers this weekend. Was sick all week, so I hadn’t had a chance yet. I still want to play that tiny, new Silent Hill game too. Maybe this is the weekend.
I did also pick up Ultros, so I may chip in some time toward that. I’ll be honest though: I am a little disappointed I jumped on it. After the lovely new Prince of Persia game, the bar was perhaps set too high for the genre at the moment. I dunno. It tries to do unique things, but it’s just… not hitting me the way I’d like it to and I feel like I’m going through the motions with it.
And, uh… I’ll probably play a match or two of Foamstars.
I should get Helldivers. I know I should but I spent a good chunk of change this week on games by spending my birthday gift cards on the games I mentioned, Pacific Driver, and Dragon’s Dogma. I’ve got a bit left in the wallet, but… I dunno…
Trying really hard to ignore all of the amazing new releases and move through my backlog by trying really hard to keep my age down in Sifu.
Syphon Filter - Finally used to the controls on this one. About halfway through. Hoping to finish it up this weekend. Never played it on PS1. Pretty fun game.
Tears of the Kingdom - Continuing to explore around Hyrule completing shrines and side quests. Maybe finish one of the main quests too.
@CooCooKaChoo What a classic! I haven't played it in probably 25 years, but I remember getting stuck on Gerdeaux for a while.
@IntrepidWombat The rewind ability has been a lifesaver to get through some parts.
@Kiefer-Sutherland oh man, loading a save by mistake instead of saving is annoying as hell. I think iv done that more than a dozen times now.
@rusty82 I can only recommend it. Jokes aside, it's obviously not The Last of Us/Uncharted level but it's quite entertaining. In my opinion, at least. The actors are good, the environment is well-crafted, the story is interesting, only the combat system is a bit unpolished. It's a classic DontNod game, doesn't aim for too much but delivers it nicely.
This weekend is Helldivers 2 and Banishers. Really enjoying both so far.
Started and quit Alan Wake 1 - felt too dated for me. Started Ghostwire: Tokyo (as part of rounding off PS Plus before it expires) after that and so far I’m loving it! Really, really cool atmosphere.
I'll be playing Separate Ways - it's great addition to base game and I really like Ada
I hope I will finish it this weekend and continue on reducing my backlog.
Happy gaming!
I'm 100 hours into Infinite Wealth and still going strong. I love this game!
@Darude84 I am also playing Ghostwire Tokyo. I am 20 hours in and really enjoying it. A lot more than I thought I would. The gameplay and story are passable but fun, but the atmosphere makes the game. It is really great.
I’ll be doing my part to maintain managed democracy when I can synch up with a friend or two.
When that isn’t happening I’ll be continuing playing through Tomb Raider remastered, what a classic game. Tomb Raider was the first game I ever bought with my own money(paper route), alongside a memory card (remember those?). And to say the nostalgia is strong with this one would be an understatement.
Well I was planning on playing like a dragon and helldivers 2 , but I've just bought dredge so it'll be that as well.
Helldivers 2 when the servers let me participate in saving democracy, also some FFVII Crisis Core Reunion on Steam Deck
Yakuza like a dragon, im excited to play LAD8 soon. Ichiban is such a lit character 🐉🐉🐉
I’m trying out this new gem called “Servers at Capacity”. It’s on a 30 second loop. When you’re really lucky you get a -1.
Currently on Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade after finishing Crisis Core Reunion a few days back. Getting prepared to Rebirth.
Monster Hunter world and as usual world of warcraft dungeon and raid evenings.
I do need to go back to Like a dragon 8. Want to get to iceborn first though.
While I waited for my copy of Yakuza Kiwami 2 to arrive after beating the first game a few weeks back I decided to jump into Yakuza 0. I’m in the middle of chapter 5 and quite a few hours in. I’m hoping it picks up a little in the pace soon. When I need a break from Yakuza, I’ll be liberating and swimming in democracy with some friends in Helldivers 2! Have a great weekend, gamers.
@matekomlosi cheers mate. I think I may check it out at some point. May have to wait until after Alone in the dark. Depends on how much an itch I get yo play it lol
@Darude84 loved Ghost Wire. Maybe have to get it going again and finish some of the side missions
I finished vertigo 2, which I really enjoyed overall. It is not half life alyx, and You see its budget. It has stronger and weaker sections, but a lot of variety and many ideas.
Not finding any psvr2 games at the moment I'd fancy, I started plague tale requiem, which I got through ps+. What a beautiful game ! So far, I really enjoy the story, the twists and turns. I am not fully on board with the button-prompt controlling scheme, though.
Obviously, it would be very cool if the beautiful world could be experienced in VR, maybe even with the dualsense on the couch in third person? One day we will be getting there and VR headsets will be just like higher resolution screens or streaming accessories, and motion controls like steering wheels for car games.
Hopefully I'll get some time with Ichiban's first adventure, on chapter 8 so making good progress.
Went to the NieR concert on Wednesday just gone and it has filled my heart with yearning for 2B and friends so I may have to play some Near All Tomatos
PS5 - Tekken 8
Switch - Mario vs. Donkey Kong
Update: Remenant 2 is £26 on offer right now, so I picked it up last night. By god this game is good!
Dont sleep on this title if you feel you could be interested - its genuinely worthy of your time. Have fun!
Probably some more Yakuza: Like a Dragon if I can get motivated to play it.
Spiderman 2 for me. Currently at 50% completion. Awesome game. Plus trying a lot of different games with my new ps plus premium subscription. Nobody saves the world and the original helldivers are a lot of fun
@Doctor_BK You did right playing Yakuza 0 1st. Yakuza K2 refferences that game a lot. As I gone from Zero to 2 straight (have beaten K1 sometime before), I am impressed with the callbacks. The Majima story in K2 (3 extra chapters, wait for them to unlock before playing, better this way) are a great follow up to the dramatic Zero events. You will see.
I'm very close to end the optional storylines of K2 (clan creator and cabaret), and them move to Y3. What a great franchise!!
@Amnesiac Thank you muchly for your kind birthday wishes, mate. I've spent the weekend with my girlfriend and her mum, where they treated me to a ticket to watch Shrek the Musical at the Liverpool Empire theatre — so I've spent my birthday hanging out with Bub and Bob, as well as Shrek and Donkey!
I've a friend who consistently lists 1986's arcade Bubble Bobble as one of his favourite games ever, however for my personal nostalgia, it's Rainbow Islands that's a timeless retro game to me.
As I mentioned above, it was playing the import Mega Drive version that brings back my fondest memories of Rainbow Islands Extra close to its release back in 1990.
Interestingly, Time Extension recently had an article titled What Music Will Rainbow Islands Use On Nintendo Switch And PS4?, which mentioned that the 'Over the Rainbow' theme wouldn't be included in the Arcade Archives version that I bought this weekend.
I don't mind too much though, because I feel that the NES version's adapted music fits with the vibe of the game nicely, and I really enjoy returning to a true TAITO classic, anyway.
Been playing some Halo (unstable packet loss seems to be OK for me now) and Forspoken.
I tried to get into Helldivers 2 but it’s just not for me.
I stopped the FFVII OG play through from last week. I just wasn't enjoying it. I loved the game 25 years ago or whatever, but now, there are too many old-school design choices that I can't get past.
That being said, I randomly picked up Darksiders 3 and beat it in a day and a half. And now I am working on Darksiders Genesis. The weekend took a turn I did not expect.
Alrighty here we go with a jam packed edition of WAYP of this weekend. Where do I start ahaha. Started off the weekend with Mario Vs Donkey Kong and lemme tell you something that game is excellent. It’s beautiful, it’s fun and it brings me back to the old days when games were just games. Then I did some Splatoon 3 Splatfest yesterday and had some fun on new maps I’ve never played before. Team Friday Baby. Really looking forward to Side Order coming out so I can really enjoy Splatoon 3 again by sprinkling some multiplayer in beside the story mode progress like I did when the game first came out. It’s just a good combo of mindless fun and genuine progress. But I didn’t get too much time to Splat it up because last night I did something even better. I went out and had a awesome time with a awesome friend. Picked up a copy of Persona 3 Reload that I can’t wait to crack into and also grabbed the latest Chainsaw Man and JOJO Part 6 mangas as well as Encyclopedia Eorzeas 1 and 3 to complete the set. My friend I should mention also picked up some pretty damn preem books themselves if I do say so myself. But then we went to our main plans of the night and saw Madame Web. Small funny story of me looking at my phone during the previews and them nudging me saying look at the screen whereupon I fangirl out that Advent Bloody Children is on the screen. But as for the movie itself it was a good nice time that was a decent movie overall. Enjoyable at some parts and dull at others it’s not nearly bad as it was made out to be and I would say a enjoyable 7/10 or even 8/10. But of course while that was the highlight of the weekend I didn’t even mention that update from last week I finally did it. I finished the MSQ for Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker. All I gotta say is it was absolutely beautiful As for today and the week ahead it’s gonna be some more Cold Steel IV and trying out P3R and over the week just a general rotation of games. Some Granblue Fantasy Relink, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, Post Endwalker Patch Quests, Another Code, Rain Code, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed and of course the Side Order for Splatoon 3 when that comes out on Thursday too. It’s mostly just a holding pattern if you ask me this week as I feel we’ll get a shadow drop of Hi Fi Rush at a partner showcase this week so I got some Eshop money saved for that and of course the Most Anticipated Game of the Year Final Fantasy VII Rebirth just the week after this. And man I really can’t wait for Princess Peach Showtime ahahah.Of course anime of the week gotta go to Frieren, Delicious in Dungeon, Urusei Yatsura, High Card and Hokkaido Gals. Podcasts of course gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, RPGsites Tetracast, Into the Aether, and Windbreaker and Firelink from Second Wind. I’ve actually run into some issues with my job so this week I don’t have as many podcasts to say I listened to because really I didn’t listen to much. Of course we wouldn’t be complete without a big special shout-out to someone very much SPECIALZ my good friend over at twitch.tv/akibread. Gonna be honest they streamed some NMH this week and I’m just saying if y’all want a fun time I think I might be friends with IRL Shinobu from NMH? I don’t know if that don’t get you to check them out I don’t know what will. As always y’all keep safe, be good to each other and have a awesome weekend. And Happy Gaming.
