Gosh, the weekends come around quickly, don't they? That's not necessarily a bad thing when there's hours upon hours of gaming to be done, though. Here's what we're playing.
Aaron Bayne
On top of wrapping up a game for review this weekend, I'll also take a trip to ancient Greece in Assassin's Creed Odyssey. The Assassin's Creed Shadows announcement has me in the mood for some Ubisoft open world goodness.
Liam Croft
I'll be dipping my toes back into Elden Ring to re-familiarise myself with the game ahead of next month's DLC, and I'm eyeing up Crow Country. I might buy that.
Sammy Barker
There's a new Knight Rider table in the massively updated Pinball FX, so I'll probably give that a few flips.
Stephen Tailby
I'm sort of between games at the moment. I might dip back into Balatro, as it's been a while since I last played and it's really easy to dip in and out of. There's also the small matter of Persona 5, which I've barely started, so that's also something I'd like to get back to if I have the time.
That's everything we're playing this weekend, but what about the rest of you? Let us know what's keeping you busy in the comments section below.

This weekend will be awesome!
I have advanced a little in Fallout New Vegas and I've started doing quests for Mr. House.
I have craving for some Assassin's Creed Odyssey. This will be my second run
And finally I got my Castlevania Advance Collection for the Switch ... it is awesome! Even for a 100th time it never get's old! Castlevania is THE BEST thing to happen in the gaming world!
Happy gaming everyone!!!
I've been playing some Sea of Thieves with my little boy (my PC is at the back of the living room) and he's really enjoying it. Other than that it's been some of the Majora's Mask PC Port and having some fun in Fallout New Vegas
Finishing off my hardcore playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas and couch co-op with @missuskilgore on the Brothers: a Tale of Two Sons Remake.
Still making my way through Uncharted: Golden Abyss while I'm at work. My main game at home is Sand Land and I'll also be playing some co-op Sea of Thieves.
Harold Halibut. It's not a game; it's more like an interactive movie, but I'm really enjoying it. If I manage to finish it, I'll dive into Indika. It looks so bizarre that I MUST try it.
I’ll hopefully spend some time on Sands of Time which I’m really enjoying. As with all metroidvanias I get a little frustrated at times when I can’t figure out where to go and spend ages backtracking, but despite that, this game seems like it might be one of the best.
It's a fine day outside and we don't get much of those here, in the North East of Scotland. So will make use of the nice weather by going out. Haven't really been gaming for quite some time, I finished Hi-Fi Rush not long after it came to PS5. Reading is my main interest just now. Currently reading Sapiens and Fullmetal Alchemist manga volumes!
Have a good weekend everyone.
I’ve been bingeing anime and TV shows with my daughter this past week or so and haven’t touched my PS5 nearly enough. So this weekend I intend to make serious progress in Stellar Blade. I’m currently halfway through and, so far at least, it’s easily my favourite game of the year.
New game + in Stellar blade to get the last ending and the platinum. After that’s done and deleted I’ll be playing indika, Ys origin on Vita and ff3 on psp.
I also bought a laptop so I will be attempting to deMicrosoft the damn thing, haven’t really bothered with PCs since 486s where around so it’s been an all around miserable experience so far.
I’ve a bit of time for gaming this weekend.
I reinstalled Diablo 4 and have been having a good time with it this week. I got super bored of the story last time I played it, so I started a new character and skipped the campaign. A lot happier!
Also, the big new loot 2.0 update this week has reworked things. Everything seems better from my perspective, and from what I have read it is being taken positively by the fan base. No news story on here about it, though?
I also got Animal Well, although haven’t really got into that yet.
Fallout 4. Just found Cait. Love Cait, even though her Irish accent is all over the place.
Still loving Animal Well (35 hours! I do poke into every corner and I haven’t cheated other than looking up what to do with a shrine and if you could save the caged cats (you can)). For me, it’s up there with Fez. The further in I get, the more impressed I am with it. Have a great weekend folks!
Funny that Kass is on the cover this weekend, as I did some couch gaming yesterday with the PS5, picking up my NG+ run again after about a year. I seem to be always at a 1-star with Mercs, which has been kind of fun, keeping me on my toes. The bit where there were three attacking, two with beasts, was a bit much (read: I died) but it is SO easy to slip back into the combat. Not a great AC game if you believe the community, but an amazing action RPG, one of my permanent installs and an all timer for me.
Still going back and forth between Sekiro and Princess Peach Showtime. One’s a really easy game for kids and the other’s Princess Peach Showtime.
Collecting cans in stellar blade no doubt for me!
I picked up unicorn overlord yesterday, only played an hour so will be doing some more.
But abit of a sport tv weekend. Football, f1, boxing
@DrVenture69 Glad to hear you rate it as highly as Fez, it’s the reason I got it. I was super hooked on that game. (listening to the Fez soundtrack on YouTube now, actually!)
Really need to make a dent in it this weekend.
Ive got stuck back in to EA pga at the minute trying to do some of the crazy hard challenges and failing miserably. I may put that to one side tho and get some more Stellar blade in. Done 1 run and am now on 2nd for the plat then a final run through on hard but that will be when there is a photo mode patched in. For some reason im very tempted to grab Assassins creed Odyssey whilst its £11 on offer for the gold edition. Any thoughts on the game?
Will also be watching the Gypsy king boxing for the belts too 🥊🥊👑
Have a good one.
I started Immortals of Aveum, which is very so-so, but still a bit of fun.
On PS5 Kingdoms of Amalur really enjoying it but I've got a feeling it'll take me a while to finish I've played 20 hours and barely done any of the story. On Xbox i finally finished Starfield and might play through Gears ultimate edition again.
I have had the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney trilogy in my backlog for ages, having completed the first one. I once again feel the urge to point dramatically across the room and shout "Objection!", so now's the time for Justice for All.
Ps5 Stellar Blade Series X Starfield update Laptop Indika
Hooked on my second playthrough of Returnal since last week. I'm already in biome 5 at the moment, I guess it helped I played "difficult" games in the meantime where I got used to the concept of dying as part of the mission.
Returnal still feels like the best PS5 game out there after several years. It's just so immersive and fluid, especially with the dualsense and 3D headset.
A bit of Fallout 4 today but I’ve bought a switch for the family so that might get me away from the commonwealth but I highly doubt it haha.
Happy gaming everyone!
I started Rise of the Ronin yesterday so will be continuing that. I'll play a bit of WRC 10 and finish off Carrier Air Wing on Capcom Arcade Stadium. I also started Greedfall but the combat doesn't seem great in that so may not stick with it.
I'll be finishing up my professional playthrough of RE4 (original) on PS4. Lost track of the amount of times I've replayed this game, it's a classic for sure.
Other than that I've been eying up Ys VIII, which I played but never got too far. I want to give it a proper chance because I'm sure it's good.
Enjoy your weekends ✌
Dragon's Dogma II now as soon as I pull myself out of bed.
I have a Mario Kart itch this morning too. I haven't played in a few months so I'm due a few hours of that I think.
Disney Dreamlight Valley ParksFest is on going right now buttons to hunt, cupcakes to make and popcorn buckets I'm having a blast ^__^
I'm busy building furniture but I'll be listening to the sounds of the kids playing Spiderman 2 in the background
Probably won't be playing much this weekend. I'll be watching the PGA Championship along with playing golf in real life as well. I'll try to squeeze in a little Unicorn Overlord if I can.
I finally got myself a physical copy of Sea of Stars, so I'm stoked to try that one out finally! Happy gaming everyone!
I’ll be playing some Sea of Thieves tonight and then cracking on with Dragons Dogma II tomorrow with some Humans Fall Flat thrown in for good measure.
Juicy Realm. It's like Binding of Isaac, but way cuter.
Today I’m with my wife, we’re going out for lunch and then we’ll be at an art museum for the afternoon.
Tomorrow I might squeeze in a little bit of FF7 Rebirth and Fallout 76, we’ll see.
My son got massively into Civ VI this past week and watching him working out all the mechanics for the first time is a lot of fun! Once I've booted him off the TV, more Dragons Dogma II and Destiny 2 for me.
Been playing Binary Domain for the PS3 and I'm having a blast! But it's not just the gameplay that's super fun mind you, but it's the story that's surprisingly pretty good!
Now that the damned dissertation is finally handed in it's time to finally get back into videogames😭😭😭
Honkai Star Rail continues to be my focus as I catch up with everything added in Penacony. I'm also at the stage where my main teams are at max level and need to farm out their final gear loadouts... Shocking that Seele is still a nuke.
Running around being a complete and utter nightmare to raiders in Fallout 4 Nuka world. Apart from that I’m playing Dragons Dogma in small doses to tie up that Platinum.
@homelesscretin Binary Domain was fantastic and should've been on it's 6th or 7th sequel by now... but, alas, that was not meant to be.
I will continue playing Persona 5 Royal. It's really long game so i am making slow progress, but i really enjoy it. One of the best games ever.
And I will have a couple of races in F1 2023, in anticipation of the Imola race on Sunday.
SMT3 Nocturne
@Mintie Seems like it was a big fat gurthy bomb for SEGA unfortunately😬.
But I think that's what I find so weird. You have plenty of games that perform abysmally initially on launch, or aren't received super well critically yet later on they become cult classics; This doesn't seem to be the the case at all for Binary Domain🥲.
I hope one day it gets its moment in the spotlight. Lot of memes can be made from this game I tell you😂
Nothing. The sun is shining and Im going outside to touch some grass and get a tan. Have a good weekend everybody.
@homelesscretin I think what really killed its chance to shine was when they ported it to PC and ported it BADLY... The PC version was atrocious.
Which makes me happy I got it day one on PS3 where it worked as intended. I'm going to look into ways to make the PC port run because I really fancy another go through it.
@ApostateMage I hooked up with Cait yesterday, MacCready will be next. Cait is my favorite to travel with.
This weekend is all Fallout 4 on my PS4 Pro. My last replay was about four years ago. Like then I will pass on picking up some trophies for how well a few simple mods improve the game for me.
I use mods that remove the godrays, sun glare, and washed out look, Clear Skies to deal with the too much rain and fog, a better settlement scrapping mod, and a pile of you're special books to reduce the grinding time. Also a mod that fixes the Sanctuary bridge.
Gotta go as there are some settlers that need my help.
Very close to beating Stellar Blade. Then I’ll jump on new game plus for it.
Ghostwire Tokyo As Scummy Microsoft Closed Tango Absolute Jokers !!!!

Flexing in BROFORCE!
Also, I suspect the PS3 will be getting a spin up for Worms 2: Armageddon and maybe a bit of F1 Race Stars?
Playing "Now go forth, let the words of the Fingers guide you." & "Farewell good hunter, may you find your worth in the waking world."
Finally completed my (2nd) NG journey in Elden Ring, preparing for the DLC landing next month. I'd initially played at launch on PS5, attaining the platinum trophy, and then hadn't revisited the game since....
Picked ER up again on Steamdeck, and as this is now my primary means of gaming, I started a new run. 55hrs later, managed to get 100% achievements and a character at lv144. Going to pick up a few enhancements to support my build, potentially a quick re-spec also, and then lay the game to rest until next month.
This weekend I plan to tackle Animal Well as a 'palette-cleanser' game, and really looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about? I saw on Metacritic that AW is the 2nd highest reviewed game this year... even just above the mighty Balatro at #3 (!)
If I can push through Animal Well quickly, it will then finally be time for Hades 2 on early access - which I'm remarkably excited about
@kyleforrester87 , it’s put a big stupid grin on my face multiple times, just the joy of finding a new use for an object or a secret area. I think it benefits going in cold and not looking anything up (having said that I had to look up fast travel!). Hope you enjoy it!
It’s funny, I have been thinking about Kassandra as well. I still need to finish the last DLC. Might fire up the series x and head back to Greece. Other than that I started Princess Peach Showtime, which has been quite entertaining so far.
While mostly waiting for Hellblade 2 I´ve been playing a few different games, including
Destiny 2 - Finished the Lightfall campaign, wich felt really short and kind of mediocre but otherwise cool setting. But, it builds up nice for the Final Shape and when Iåve played that I´m done with Destiny for a long while. Even if I´ve ejoyed playing the campaign and PVP and even Gambit is fun I just dont find it in me to do all the other things the game wants me to do. Even the raids, which back in the day where a highlight, feels like climbing Everest and I really dont want to.
Little kitty, big city - Played it for about half an hour. Its not my kind of game but my daughter will hopefully want to play it with me so I´ll get back to it later in the summer. Seems like a nice game to play with the family.
Immortals of Aveum - Just wanted to give this game a shout, my son started playing it and he likes it and I really liked it so give it a try. Its better than it got credit for
Also looking forward to The Settlers to drop on PS plus, loved the originals back in the day so hopefully this can spark some of that sweet nostalgia. I remember some nights when I was playing while in high school and I would forget all about the clock and stayed up way to late having a blast, or when I left the computer on over night just so they could gather resources while I was sleeping because I probably hadnt built my settlement very effectively and it took forever to get the materials I needed. Sweet memories
Just hit cosmo canyon in FF7 rebirth (they butchered the music for that remastered theme in that area imo) so mainly playing that. Really enjoying the game, but as I've said in other articles, too much padding.
Will be helping my daughter on Dreamlight Valley at some point too no doubt.
Away with work next week so have picked up red dead redemption and sea of stars for the switch
More Helldivers and also got my Sunsoft Collection 2 for Evercade so bit of Blaster Master for me.
Hopefully enjoy the last game of the season and fingers crossed catch the boxing tonight!!
Happy gaming folks

My time at sand rock has the usual flaws but really enjoying it put over 70 hours still going through the story.
Lots of Stellar Blade for me. I’m taking my time collecting all the cans.
Other than that some Rise of the Ronin and Tales of Kenzara. Really I’m going to playing the same stuff for awhile because well, 2 kids.
But summer is rolling up fast and I’m hoping for more time to game!
I'm certainly playing Starfield, with the latest fantastic update the developers released, it's getting quite the great feedback from gamers all across.
@Zuljaras ...there's been some stinkers in the Castlevania franchise along the way though....Lords Of Shadow 2 anyone ?
Lots of gaming awaits!! Started with Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, so I will progress through there a little more. I'm cleaning the main map of Assassin's Creed Valhalla, very close to the platinum, might give some time to it. Planning to start final fantasy mode in Final Fantasy XVI, and a sure bet is Uncharted 2!! Felt a itch to replay the series, already did the 1st this week, now the 2nd awaits!! One of my favorites!!
@Perturbator so glad you shared! I’ll be checking this out and adding it to the rotation.
@Rangers420 Yes, Kingdoms of Amalur is a long game, took me 100+ to complete both main game and the built in DLCs. But it's worth it, the campaign is very good to the very end!! I never did the new DLC, so I can't speak for that. But this game was a good time.
Still Trails from Zero - as well as Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart.
I seem to remember there's a map that shows collectibles on the map but I can't remember where to get it.. Anyone got any ideas? Haha
Happy gaming everyone!
I will be playing one of the best games ever made in 2019 game of the year winner the incredible sekiro shadows die twice.im almost at the end of that masterpiece.sekiro is a amazing protagonist.the graphics.the gameplay.the story and the boss fights is incredible.i will continue playing another masterpiece rpg in the amazing divinity original sin 2 definitive edition.i will also continue playing one of the best fps games ever in the awsome titanfall 2.i will continue playing the instant hit the wonderful assassins creed origins gold edition.and i will continue to play one of the best rpgs ever in the excellent dragon quest 11 definitive edition.im playing as the luminary aka best name ever in Gregory thats what i call him.excellent gameplay.story.and boss fights.i will be watching the nba playoffs.my boston Celtics 💚🖤 🏀 already qualified for the next round.i will be watching legendary sitcoms 📺 tv comedy in Sanford and son.good times.martin.the Jeffersons.and saved by the bell.word up son
@KingPev I liked it. Not as much as the first LoS which as epic and Mirror of Fate
The ones that I consider bad or weird are Judgment, Kid Dracula, Grimoire of Souls and Harmony of Despair.
I am not even going to talk about the slot CV "games".
Should be continuing with tales of vesperia, but I made the mistake of picking up Balatro in the recent sale…
@Zuljaras I'm sad to this day that i never played Castlevania LoS 2. My PS3 broke before I had the chance. never saw the ending of the trilogy...
@Zuljaras you can't go wrong with any of the GBA/DS Castlevania games, they're all great. Also the Dracula X Chronicles on PSP has an excellent remake of Rondo of Blood, a great port of SoTN and a port of the original Rondo of Blood. The PS2 games aren't bad either
@freddquadros It is a little cheesy and happy ending, but I love such endings! Not everything has to end with loss and depression
@Kanji-Tatsumi 100% right! I need a couple more retro purchases to fill my CV collection
Stellar Blade continues. I am really enjoying it and it continues to grow on me. Matrix 11 was a little too long though for such a linear and rather drab area.
I quit BG3 in Act 3. 80 hours in and 4 months of playtime but I'm bored and tired of it. Act 3 is so dull.
Waiting for Hellblade 2 reviews to decide if I sub to a month of GamePass or not. Otherwise Lorelei has caught my interest.
@Zuljaras if you've got a Vita you can get the Dracula X Chronicles for like £8 (digitally). Totally worth it. It was ported to PS4 but they removed the actual PSP remake 😑
@Kidfunkadelic83 ac odyssey is well worth a punt. I loved every minute of it. I played through it before I played origins but it made no difference really. This weekend I'm going to be playing wanted dead even though everybody thinks it's a real steaming turd but I really dig the kill bill meets WET game style. Helldivers 2 will be the evening entertainment. Have a cracker of a weekend folks👍
I'll probably wrap up RE4 Remake in VR2. Also, my Madison VR2 physical edition just came in today. I'll either play that after or, for some vareity, Hubris first.
@Kanji-Tatsumi I have it physically for the PSP
Cyberpunk, the phantom liberty expansion is so seemless it could have been there all along.
More Pacific Drive for me, trying to get a little bit closer to escaping the zone.
I booked gamepass on my series s again in preparation for Hellblade 2. So I went back into the original Senuas Sacrifice and also Max Payne 3... On PS5 I started Banishers and I'm pretty amazed by it's great presentation and bleak atmosphere.
I’m not sure what I want to play this weekend. I did finish my first playthrough of Stellar Blade. I got both endings (thank you, cloud saving). And those final boss fight(s), depending on the ending you choose, was superb. It took me approximately 65+ hours to do all side quests and collectibles. All I need to do now is NG+ and I’ll have the platinum trophy. With that said, I need a break. It’s a masterpiece of an action game, especially considering this is Shift Up’s first console game, but I’m ready for something different.
For a palette cleanser I earnestly started and completed Crow Country, obtaining the platinum trophy while I was at it. I needed a bite sized game and it only took five hours to beat. I have to say - this is one of the best survival horror games of the year, perhaps in the past half decade. It’s easily up there with Signalis, but I think it’s better due to its more grounded story that isn’t vague and full of questions.
There are some genuine unsettling moments, which is a hard accomplishment for me because I’m desensitized to a lot of horror themed stuff. Moreover, the atmosphere, tone, sound design (OST), and enemy designs are brilliant, only adding to the tension. And it’s excellently written. It has a compelling mystery that’s compounded with environmental story telling, newspaper clippings, journals, secrets, and ever evolving surroundings the more you progress the story. I strongly recommend this game.
Lastly, I decided to purchase Star Ocean: The Second Story R. I’ve been itching for a good JRPG, and everything about this remake looks superlative. I’m particularly keen on the science fiction aspect too. At the moment I’m two hours in, starting with Claude Kenny, and have beaten the first boss. My only complaint is that the game is relatively easy so I might have to adjust the difficulty setting to give myself more of a challenge.
I started Ghost Of Tsushima PS5. I'm not impressed yet, but the Kurosawa mode with headphones is... kind of immersive.
Certainly some SF6 too, as usual.
@ErrantRob Glad to be of service! It's got local coop too!
Still rolling with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Still enjoying it.
I do agree with others that there's too much padding, but the story portion is still great. I look forward to getting back into the story with me about to polish off Chapter 12.
Either continue grinding on Octopath Traveler 2 (44 hours playing time with some characters almost done with their solo chapter) or play SF 6 ranked match.
@freddquadros...don't be sad. It's utter pants...a shame coming after the first LoS
A bit of star wars squadrons as I've finally got round to hooking my vr up again.
I actually have nothing to play this weekend. I just 100%’d my (thus far) GOTY in Stellar Blade and I’m looking for something to play. With both XDefiant and System Shock coming out in a few days, plus a new sale on the PSN store set for next week as well, I may just take a break from gaming for a few days. I hope everyone else enjoys whatever they’re getting into this weekend. Cheers!
Just got the platinum for Animal Well and I’m in gaming limbo. I know Stellar Blade is great and I purchased it day one, but I’m not in the mood for that type of game. My backlog is calling and I’m thinking it’s time for Midnight Suns.
About to finish my 1st playthrough of Stellar Blade. I'll probably play around with a 2nd run get a few outfits here and there but I think I'm ready to start something else. But definitely one of the most fun games this year so far. I really hope they make a sequel and flesh out a proper story, world, characters
While I still have the sub active, I wanna try some games I've been meaning to play but just haven't for whatever reason. So it'll be something between Ghost of Tsushima, Death Stranding, or Returnal
Probably doing some goals on FC24
And hopefully getting stuck in to AC Mirage
I dabbled in the new season of Foamstars but I havent gotten back to Rebirth just yet, hoping to on monday as it's a holiday here.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Should be completing Dave the Diver this weekend, so that’s the big thing.
Once I do that, Indika is the next “big” game for me, though I’m going to see if the wife wants to play that one with me. We’ve still got Banishers and Road 96 in that backlog though…
Outside that, depending on how long it takes to finish Dave the Diver and what time I have to game, I may do a bit of Animal Well too, which is fantastic, or try to play Prey one more time. I’ve tried to play the game maybe four times now and I want to give it one more shot for the folks at Arkane Austin.
And honestly, working through these games will be my gaming time til Erdtree unless we get some surprises at the Summer Showcases coming up in a few weeks. Yeah, knock out six games in a month, I’ve got this… Lol.
@KingPev I know it's inferior, but I want to play anyway.
After getting the platinum for Rise of the Ronin, I’ve traded in cats for cans (the cylindrical aluminum kind) and am playing through Stellar Blade. Really enjoying it! Happy gaming!
Last day on shift today then 4 off. My weekend starts tonight and I’ll be continuing with the fantastic Ghost Recon Breakpoint and also getting past penetrator on Demons 😁 happy Saturday folks
I'm trying out Fallout 4 on PS5 for the first time. I've never finished a Bethesda RPG (I got bored of Starfield) plus...
Asgards Wrath 2 on Quest 3
Helldivers 2 on PC
Let's Cook Together/Don't Starve Together with wifey on Series X
Paused: Baldurs Gate 3, Talos Principle 2, Deliver Us Mars
The backlog is real: GOW Ragnarok, Jedi Survivor.
@playstation1995 Love the classic TV comedies. Let's go Knicks tomorrow! Celtics v Knicks could be an epic series.
@Judal27 All three are great games, but very different based on what experience you seek. Death Stranding is the most relaxing game I’ve played so far while Returnal is one of the most nerve wracking. Really liked GoT as well, although it dragged on a bit towards the second half.
AC Mirage, a whole tenner spent.
Enjoying it, like the originals.
Playing Metro Exodus atm
@Northern_munkey i may grab it then. Its the bloat and fetch quests i cant be bothered with and i heard the map was bigger than it really needed to be with alot of travelling in between.
Just finished chapter 5 of Yakuza Kiwami 2 so I’m starting the Majima saga. Really loving this game so far and don’t feel like playing much else. I just picked up Granblue Fantasy Relink and might start that up as I’ve been looking forward to playing it since the demo came out. Also plan on playing some Remnant 2 and Helldivers 2 with a buddy this weekend. Such great co-op games. Should be a good time.
@homelesscretin That is such an underrated game- gameplay, story, art style. I love to hear when people are enjoying it.
Indika - what a weird game, I'm enjoying it. About an hour in, impressed with what I've played so far.
Diablo 4 - finally tried out a seasonal character, grinding Helltides but getting decent exp from them so it's good to play while I listen to music.
Athenian Rhapsody - looked insane so I picked it up and yup, it's insane all right. But funny, which i needed right now after serious games lately. Doing a pacifist run.
Non stop playing hades 2 since EA release 😂beat final boss couple of time. Tough Af
Starting Hellblade tonight.
@Darude84 lol I heard returnal is pretty challenging so I'm a little cautious about it. I don't have a particular itch for any type of game rn. So I'll probably start with Ghost then Returnal, and DS. Mainly cause I feel like DS will be the one I enjoy the most so I'm saving the best for last
@Judal27 DS is such a departure from the norm. I absolutely loved it mate, so much that I platted it. Took me Something like 300 hours to finish though lol
@TJ81. Oh yeah.classic tv 📺 sitcoms comedies are the best.they dont make them like they use to.word up son
@homelesscretin Man, what a great game Binary Domain is. Need to replay that myself.
Hello there fellow gamers.
For the last two months I´ve been in a Open World Action RPG frenzy with games like FF7 Rebirth, Horizon 2 Forbidden West on my PS5 and AC Valhalla on my Series X.
And now that I´ve finished AC Valhalla and finally got my 1Tb Expansion Card, been installing more games and one of them is AC Origins, one of my favourite AC and favourite Open World Action RPGs, sooooo......... I decided to play the game again, but now on my Xbox and sweet 60 FPS.
I don´t know how long I´ll keep playing these type of games, since they take so much time, but as long as I´m having fun, I´ll continue indulging myself.
And yes my friend @Zuljaras, Castlevania franchise is Amazing.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us
@Mikey856 yes a big departure. Almost like a new genre, a strand type game if you will
Honestly tho, I'm really excited to play it. I know about the memes but I've still always been super curious about it. And the DS2 trailer reignited my interest even more
Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition
I am FINALLY almost through all of Act III. What I have left is: 5th Wheel Trial thingy, pretty much all of the evil Tickington stuff (I’m missing 3 Pastwords so yay, gotta find them ), 3 final costumes left (Rab/Serena/Jade), the actual final boss of Act III then the secret boss. Not sure I have much else to do. Already completed all of Drustan’s 5 trials, most quests are complete, etc. Oh I’m saving the last puff puff for the platinum trophy because… uhhh, well…. Puff puff puff puff pufffff 😈😈😈😈
Funny thing (to me) is I played DQXI (original) back in like 2018 maybe. Could’ve been 2020 tbh. Anyways, I reached Sniflheim, completed its arc then decided it just didn’t click with me. I tried my damnest to love it but it wasn’t hitting with me. Fast forward to 2024 and I gave DQXI S a proper second try. Absolutely adore it now.
Just a reminder to folks that not every game clicks the first time you play it. Take some time (or years) off and retry it later. Maybe you’ll end up loving it! Have a great weekend, everyone!!!
@Judal27 It definitely is challenging, but it’s mostly a case of finding the right focus. Trying to defeat the game on every run shouldn’t be your focus. The goal is to unlock stuff on every run to get you a bit further in the next run. Once you get the hang of it it’s challenging in a fun way.
DS is one of my all time favorite games by the way, enjoy!
@Judal27 it blew my mind at every turn. Every new mechanic you get, every little trick you realise you can do to carry that extra package as you play. I found it wonderful truly. It’s soooooo much more than a walking simulator trust me 😂
@CWill97 I platted the standard edition on PS4 but got brought the switch version years ago and stopped on act 2 final boss mordegon as it was so brutal I was playing with pretty much all the difficulty indicators on they didn't think that difficulty through so unbalanced.
@Zuljaras so did you finish all the games from last week or do you just play a little of bit of lots of games?
@Deljo I play games in bits. But there are times where I stick to a game until it is done. That happened with the Dark Souls series, Elden Ring, Lies of P, Bloodborne, Spider-Man 1 and 2, Blasphemous 2.
Grapple Dog and Stardew on Switch Lite.
Sorry I'm late this week. My lungs are still not feeling right (that's 2 months now) and I've just started a play through of Far Cry 6 having had it installed for a week while I built settlements in Fallout 4. So far Far Cry 6 is excellent, the opening level and intro are dripping with potential and atmosphere. I'm excited to see where it goes.
A quick update - Finished Honkai Star Rail's Penacony story... They got me again with the needle drop! Now it is time to clean up about 9 months worth of companion missions and rummaging through trash cans.
I had to take apart my PS5, replace the wings with some that had ventilation, replace the heat sink, get an external fan, and remove the insane amount of dust in that thing. I'm not exactly blaming the console. It's been the center of the living room for the entire generation so far, and I've only ever taken a bit of duster to it. I was really surprised at the amount of dust. PSA, I guess: remove your fan from the console and get all of that dust out. Usually Fallout 4 will melt it, so I will have that on the tv to see if it runs cooler while I play Animal Well, Vampire Survivors, or Slayers X on my Switch, lol.
@Gigawatt-Kapow I got the feeling playing FC6 that I might enjoy it in a year or so. I played through 5, and need a break. I'd like to try 6 without the hud elements/indicators. I enjoyed what I played though. Those games always have great locales.
@LikelySatan Yeah, I went straight from 3 to Blood Dragon to 4 and learned my lesson with Far Cry burnout! I really enjoyed 5 and I've been putting off trying 6 for ages. Finally took the plunge after I ended up with birthday money and it was in the sale. So far, it's a win. But I totally agree on the HUD. There's a lot going on.
Still playing The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story. Having a really good time with it. I think I should be finishing it today. Probably going to go for the Platinum on it.
Late to the party this week. I’m playing Uncharted 2 and Gran Turismo 5, loving both (not my first playthroughs). Also got Baldur’s Gate 3 and Nier Automata downloaded and ready to play. All I need is more time sigh. All of those on my ROG Ally.
@Gigawatt-Kapow Primal surprised me. It gets so dumb. Riding around on a sabertooth impaling cavemen to trees, lol.
Long weekend here, Monday is free. I am playing Animal Well (PushSquare dropped the ball on this one with an 8). Fantastic game.
On the side I try finishing up The Tenth Line and I started Slime Rancher, simple but very addictive game, lots of fun.
Happy weekend everyone.
@LikelySatan I missed out on that one. I'll maybe give it a try in the future. Looks pretty fun.
I got the plat in Stellar this week so might replay DMC5. I want to try Animal Well and might carry on with Tales of Kenzara but it hasn't really clicked so far.
Wizard with a Gun has a free weekend on Steam so playing that on the Deck too. It's pretty fun from a game genre I'm not normally a big fan of.
Going for the platinum on balatro wich is gonna take me hunderds of hours probably.
Diablo 4 new season and finishing Dave the diver
Started NG+ on Stellar Blade to get the last ending and collecting the remaining cans. Really robust Ng+! Hopefully I can do I it all before Akuma drops in SF6 because then I will be very busy beating a lot of wannabe edgelords demons with female characters and Blanka:P
I just finished the abysmal fraud that is Bayonetta 3, a game that seriously made me furious, and... well, crying (for the wrong reasons). I'll delete it from my head-canon and keep playing Bayonetta 1 and 2, which are masterpieces in their respectives genres, in my opinion.
So, in order to keep battling monsters with a stylized lady, I started Stellar Blade. And while it's obvious how much it takes from Nier Automata (even the music is constantly trying to duplicate this particular ambiance) - but without Taro's genius and Platinum's perfect execution - I have to say... This game is pretty good. Even better.
It's honest.
It is naive, yeah, but in a good way, and it's quite sincere in its proposition.
And I like it very much, for that.
From now on, count me as a fan.
Well here we are with another jam packed edition of WAYP. This week conducted from the Ocracoke Island Ferry. Yes that’s right this weeks edition written from the deck of a moving ferry. I’m on vacation the next two weeks on beautiful scenic Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks. Shoutout to Jersey Mikes Subs they really are a sub above. You know what that means. Sun, surf, wrestling and of course video games. And boy do we have a lot of those this week. Before we start tho I just wanna say shoutout to Jersey Mikes Subs they really are a sub above. I picked up two Nintendo Switch vouchers and with them copies of Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. For most of the weekend I participated in the recent Splatfest for Splatoon 3 on Team Same Ol. As for the rest of this weekend depending on when I make it to my vacation home I’ll either get my start with Endless Ocean Luminous or just crack on with some more Trails Into Reverie and Persona 3 Reload. As for the rest of the week tho I’ve got so much to start like Little Kitty Big City or since Ocracoke is known for its connection to Blackbeard some Sea of Thieves. On top of that I do wanna go back to stuff like Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth with its vacation vibes. Stellar Blade at night while the stars are clear as can be sounds beautiful. Sand Land after a day of being on the sand? AMAZING. Also got loads of games I was saving to beat for this vacation like Princess Peach Showtime, Another Code, Trails, the FFXVI DLC and so many more that I’m probably forgetting ahaha. And of course I wanna dabble in my fighting games what with Akuma getting added to Street Fighter 6 and Beatrix to Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising. And of course big end of the week event gonna be WWE King and Queen of the Ring from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Very excited there. Anime of the week gotta go to Kaiju No.8, The Many Sides of Voice Actor Radio, Delicious in Dungeon, Demon Slayer and surprisingly My Hero Academia. The anime and manga are honestly both strangely at like hugely high quality points so it deserves its flowers. Oh and Urusei Yatsura of course. Podcasts of this week of which I will be trying to enjoy many of on the beach gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast,Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind and Aetheryte Radio. And of course we wouldn’t be quite done without a big lovely shoutout to my dear friend over at twitch,tv/akibread and their amazing streams please give them a look. As always yall stay safe, be good to each other. Have an excellent weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
Starcraft 2 on PC and Plague 's Tale Requiem on the PS5 .
I was looking forward to playing stride fates but given how unsatisfactory the port seems to have turned out I gave it a pass and "played" "stray gods" instead. The "role playing musical" is not much of a game, but there is some game there and maybe it is sufficient to increase engagement with the characters? Anyway sometimes it is fantastic, sometimes I did not like it much, mostly because I did not like some of the interpretations of some of the singers of their roles, I think. I really liked the artwork and the orchestration, though. It is a short "game" but the length feels correct for what is on offer and the asked price, in particular since it is on sale right now, feels justified.
Guardian of the Galaxy
Ghost of Tsushima
Just finished gta 5 story mode and it was quite a fun ride. Now I just dipped my toes into dragons sigma dark arisen to get ready for the sequel.
