Can you believe the first week of February is already over? Time moves too fast, folks. This is a wild month for new PS5 releases, too. Here's what's keeping us busy.
Aaron Bayne
This weekend I'm planning to start DOOM 2 after finishing the original last weekend! However, on the side, I've also picked up The Division 2 again with some mates.
Jamie O'Neill
I'm on a retro-themed bargain hunt, as last weekend I dug out Microids' NEW Joe & Mac - Caveman Ninja with 80% off at £4.99, and now I'm snapping up 75% savings on NAMCO Museum Archives Vol 1 at £3.99. This collection includes an NES demake of Pac-Man Championship Edition, as well as a fascinating Famicom game called Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti.
Sammy Barker
Other games have been taking my attention away from my favourite Infinity Nikki, so I'll be spending this weekend finally properly exploring the Firework Isle.
Stephen Tailby
I didn't get much of a chance to play the first Monster Hunter Wilds beta test, so I'll be spending some time with the new beta this weekend. I want to get back to grips with my beloved Charge Blade, and test out a couple of other options.
Those are the games keeping us occupied this weekend, then, but what about you? As always, let us know in the comments section below.

I am not stopping until I beat the Castlevania games I have never finished! Now on the block is Castlevania III Dracula's Curse! One of the hardest CV games to date!
However, my main task is to put more time in improving my game Castletoria! I have spent 2 days drawing and coding the equipment menu! The old one had terrible navigation
And for some relaxing if time permits (I doubt that!) Tormented Souls on the PS5 and God of War 2 on the PSVita!
Have a nice gaming weekend!!!
this weekend I will be finishing warhammer40,000 space marine 2 and then jumping into psychonauts 2 as my physical copy arrived today have a great weekend everyone
Gonna crack on with Dragon Age The Veilguard which I’m having a decent time with.
Also going to give Small Land a try in co-op. It’s the only survival game on PS we haven’t tried yet so fingers crossed it’s good!
I'm still playing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Currently trying to recruit every character.
Going to start Smalland: Survive the Wilds as well.
Mass Effect 2
I'm almost done with my first playthrough of it. Like ME1 that I played around October I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I'm enjoying it.
Have a good weekend everyone!
Just started Assassins Creed Mirage. Enjoying it so far - but am glad it's a shorter release. Want to knock some of the backlog off my list
On PS5 i will be starting Trails Through Daybreak 2 which I was lucky to get early. I will also be continuing with Dragon Quest 3 HD, just got the Echo Flute so now I can get another orb. I may start the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta although I know it's a game I'm getting either way so maybe il leave it.
On the Switch I've got the last boss to do in Mario and Luigi Brothership, and then it's on to the first Fire Emblem Warriors. I've also re downlaoded Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and bought the booster pass, going to have a marathon of doing every one of the 98 tracks, going to take multiple days though 😅.
It PSN stays down, then Switch
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Spent a lot of time gathering herbs, creating potions and selling. 300 groschen for an hour’s work is pretty legit, bought a fancy long sword. Now to visit the combat trainer and see what’s what. Love that you can grind here and it actually produces game changing results in so many other ways than just being OP.
The Monster Hunter Wilds beta if PSN isn't down when I get off work.
@Rob_230 I've also started AC Mirage this week. Nice change from Odyssey and Valhalla.
Glad I finished the weekly GT7 races yesterday. I didn’t even realise PSN was down until I read it here though. Subnautica 2 all the way today. I think I’m pretty close to finishing, so maybe a bit of Ragnarok.
Have a great weekend Folks (if you’re not planning to play online that is…)
Continuing both Dragon Age Inquisition and Stellar Blade.
I also picked up a weird little indie called A Game About Digging A Hole, it's not very long but it scratched the primitive itch to go in the backyard and dig a hole.
On the Pro Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 first couple of hours. Completed Warhammer Space Marine 1 so moving onto Warhammer Space Marine 2. On Game Pass trying to finish Indiana Jones then focus on Sniper Elite Resistance and Ninja Gaiden 2 Black
I took some drastic measures yesterday when I found myself being annoyed with my never ending backlog: I sold both my Series X (despite having 1,5 years of GP left) and PS5 and used the money to buy a PS5 Pro so I can focus on only a handful of quality games at a time.
I was tossing and turning about it for months, because a lot of people say it’s a minor upgrade. All I can say while playing TLOU Part 1 on my (also quite new) Neo Qled 65” is: WOW. This is what next gen looks like. I actually never could get into this game on PS4, but it’s so breathtaking and immersive now that it has me gripped.
Since I don’t have a disc drive yet I subscribed to PS Plus Extra for now. GOW Ragnarok is next on my list, since it also has a Pro patch. Any other recommendations to witness the power of this beast?
NG2 Black XSX GPU.
F.I.S.T. as I wait for PSN to come back up.
Unfortunately I picked it up before, what I think is the last boss fight & it’s kicking my a**
Diablo 4. Or some other GaaS game. I find singleplayer games boring.
Forspoken. Started it this week. Defeated the first Tanta. The regular open world collection game. Movement and combat is pretty good.
If PSN might work Ill play some more Arma Reforger.
Started Super Mario Land on Game Boy and Will try to finish it this weekend.
Have a good weekend.
IF the PSN allows it, I will play Darksiders II (PS5), Yakuza 5, and maybe Star Wars Outlaws or Borderlands 3. Must advance in some of these games, clear my checklist. We really need the PSN back online!!
Continuing my play through of Black Myth Wukong, absolutely brilliant game, it isn't perfect (the camera can be a pain in the back side at times) but it's great fun and the skill tree is really detailed meaning you can switch up approach at anytime.
Switch: Balatro. Got another joker last night so just need the $100,000,000 joker then I’ll be moving on to the challenges.
PS5: Purchased Kingdom Come for less than £7 so will getting stuck into that as after the RPG poll a few days ago on PushSquare I felt like I needed something to focus on as it’s my favourite gaming genre.
Enjoy your gaming weekend everyone!
Continuing my Uncharted series platinum playthroughs. Currently on Uncharted 3 brutal playthrough, whilst collecting the treasures. Then will move onto the speed run next. Also playing Marvel Rivals. Working on Tomb Raider remastered multiplayer trophies. Happy Gaming All.
On PS5 I'm still on Visions of Mana it's starring to feel a little repetitive now I've also started High On Life humour is a bit hit and miss but I'm enjoying it. On Xbox Sniper Elite Resistance and Black Ops 6. Also playing Medieval Dynasty don't usually enjoy these types of games but I've put close to 30 hours into it so far and barely scratched the surface really like it.
I will be wrapping up the exquisite Momodora Moonlit Farewell. After that, only sweet heaven knows!
Finished Ys X Nordics this week. Not the best in the series, but still very enjoyable. Trying to finish Mario & Luigi Brothership, which is also not the best in the series, but far cry from the enjoyable, sadly. Also really want to finish Scarlet Nexus before it's taken from Plus. Corridors are boring and the story moves a little too fast, but characters and boss battles definitely make experience worthwhile.
After finally getting the Platinum in Assassins creed Revelations (I will forever curse whoever designed, the stupid first person jumping). I’ve decided to finish off the last few cases of Ace Attorney investigations collection. Before Pirate Yakuza comes out in a few weeks.
Just renewed PS+ Essentials for 3 months so right now i'm playing SF 6. Fighting the voluptuous Mai and she's quite challenging to fight for my boy Ed, especially her charge fan mixed up. But fortunately she's not as annoying as Bison.
I'm also playing Sol Cresta which i got from PS+. Didn't know Platinum is the developer with Kamiya directed and it's a pretty good shmups.
Oh and played a bit of Batman Arkham Origins and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 on PS3 when PSN got down.
Have a good weekend everyone 🍻
I'm going to give No Rest for the Wicked a go on Steam Deck and CyubeVR on PS5.
Also Helldivers whenever PSN comes back.
And it's probably time to finish Veilguard too.
Are you yanking my official pizzle?
Obviously i'm refusing to advance the main quest in favour of playing farkle naked in:
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II
It is absolute RPG bliss. The amount of worthwhile marked and hidden side content is literally insane. And the depth to every conversation, be it serious mid quest or hilarious random encounter, explains the monster 2.2million word script. Bravo
More Nioh 2 this game has it's hooks in me and won't let go 😭😭😭😅
After a period of limited free time, I hope to finally get back to Leon and Las Plagas. I left off at chapter 10 last week, and so I’m anxious to see how this unfolds.
Then I need to return to FF7 Crisis Core which I have enjoyed but have spent less time with because of RE4.
And finally, I’m planning to mix in some Gris which is the forum Game Club game this month. Looks like a wonderful diversion when I want a break.
Of course if PSN doesn’t come back on then all bets are off.
Still Metaphor Refantazio, thought they said it was shorter than P5, looks far longer. Plus tarrying in the legendary RDRII.
Btw wooww PSN down brought all the PushSquare lurkers out the woodwork.
@Kiefer-Sutherland I started Dragon age last week. Enjoying it so far.
I will continue playing one of the best video games ever made in the incredible monster hunter world master edition.im using the heavy bowgun and playing as a male name gregory.best name ever.the heavy bowgun is so incredidle. gameplay.graphics.story is enjoyable.soundract.and the boss fights is incredible.and i will be continue playing the instant hit the excellent assassins creed odyssey gold edition.im still playing as alexios.excellent gameplay.graphics.story.boss fights.and sountract. KCD2
So far, my Henry has:
God, I love this game.
I’ve been having a blast playing Far Cry New Dawn, thanks to the 60fps patch. Also picked up Oceanhorn 2 for under a tenner in a PS store sale. Seems quite good fun so far, though don’t know how long it will keep me interested for. Hope to play the Monster hunter wilds beta as well.
RDR2 - Fully upgraded my satchel, hunted lots of legendary animals, and have found a good chunk of elixirs so I’ll start slowly wrapping up missions of Act 2. Finished the game when originally released but been amazing playing on ps5 & a nicer tv/speaker setup.
Dark Souls 3 - Avoided these games until falling in love with Elden Ring. Already beat Demon’s Souls so grabbed DS3 on sale the other day. Still haven’t “got gud” (ugh) at these but enjoying DS3 so far despite finding it to be the hardest FromSoft game I’ve played so far.
Hoping for an Eagles super bowl win on Sunday. Enjoy the weekend everyone.
Mostly fighting my cold.
If feel like doing some gaming then SH2 Remake, SMTV:V, MH Wilds Beta and Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen
Depending on if PSN is back up later today, it's more Monster Hunter Wilds beta for me.
Managed to fit in a couple Gypceros hunts last night. I'll likely refuse to hunt the flagship (Arkveld) though, so as to save that surprise for the full release. Happy weekend y'all!
I’ll be playing MH Wilds all weekend! I missed the last beta as I was away on holiday so I’m suuuuper excited to finally give it a go
Happy hunting to anyone else playing 🙌
Dark Souls II. At least I don't have to worry about getting invaded.
With all of PSN down for me, it looks like Indiana Jones on Series X or Donkey Kong on Switch.
Was GOING to play MH Wilds beta but PSN had other ideas. I'll play alittle Unicorn Overlord maybe but Sunday is the Superbowl so that booked up.
Game on everybody!
Winding my way through GoW Ragnarok. Great game, can't decide if I prefer it to GoW, but that's not important.
Might make some small progress on Witcher 3 PS5 playthrough if time permits.
Not much today as its mainly watching footy and rugby. Might continue ff7 rebeirth tonight on chapter 13 at moment. Did also instal rd2 last week played a bit of that it still looks amazing so might dabble with that too.
Getting near the end of banishers. once that’s done I’ll probably be resuming the first kingdom come deliverance after a 5 year hiatus, so it should be fun being thrown into the mid point with no clue how to do anything anymore.
Hello there fellow gamers.
Having finished my second playtrough of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black on Hard, I´ll be switching gears and continue to play Metaphor Refantazio. I´m at the end game, finishing side quests and maximizing bonds.
Might also dable between Street Fighter 6, Dungeons of Hinterberg and Ninja Gaiden Black.
Cheers everyone and happy gaming weekend to us all
@Nightcrawler71 how does Ocean horn 2 run? Loved the first but heard bad things about switch version of 2
Welp psn still being down I can't play the MH Wilds beta. Or any of my gachas which is pain. I got a month pass for ZZZ and couldn't claim the polys for it so that really sucks
In the meantime I have zero clue what offline single player game I want to really get into as I've sorta been burnt out by gaming I think. Played a little Animal Well, it's decent fun. Got a little further into Sonic Frontiers. I downloaded Blood Omen 2 for nostalgia so maybe I'll replay it a little more. And I started the Klonoa Phantom Reverie series. Nothing is really sticking with me, not because I don't enjoy the games tho
Currently working my way through Mafia since I’ve never played any of these games. Great acting and storytelling so far!
Finished Ninja Gaiden 2 Black this week and loved that as well.
It’s a good time to do the backlog. I’ll get back to Silent Hill 2 and Wuthering Waves at some point as well.
Lastly, I’m contemplating Turbo Kill as that demo impressed me and Iron Meat as I hear good things.
@RaZieLDaNtE was your NG2B hard run on hard or the hardest difficulty? I tried path of the Master Ninja? I believe and got wrecked so my hat is off to you sir because it feels like a very different game of block and go at that level.
If I have time to game this weekend, it'll be continuing Fantasian Neo Dimension. I managed 10 hours this past week - getting closer to wrapping all of the side content before I tackle what looks to be the end game. One thing I love about this game is its pick-up-and-play nature. I can do a dungeon and its boss in about an hour and feel satisfied.
In reality, I've got running around to do, lots of furniture to move, then I'm finally starting on ripping up and replacing my bedroom floor. When I need a break from that, I have a new kitchen faucet arriving tomorrow that I can install.
Have a good weekend, everybody.
@ApostateMage you should go drinking with a certain bunch of fellows. The quest randomly starts at the Troskowitz tavern, and oh my, it is spectacular. A heavy mix of philosophy and silly drunken lad sh*t ensues, eventually.
This weekend I’ll mainly be focusing on Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I never played the first entry, but Warhorse posted a ten minute summary on their YouTube channel and it really helped me get a grasp on the story.
So far, I’m a couple of hours in, but I’m very impressed. The writing is absolutely top-notch, with incredible voice acting and animations that bring the characters to life. The cutscenes themselves are high quality. I don’t think I’ve ever said this about a video game before, but it has a movie-ish quality to it, from its cinematography and direction.
It might be the most immersive game I’ve ever played, with incredible RPG mechanics and dialogue choices that genuinely make me pause and think about my responses. I really can’t wait to dive deeper into this medieval adventure.
On a side note, earlier this week I finished Unicorn Overlord and got the platinum trophy. What a fantastic game, and easily my favorite Vanillaware title to date. I can’t wait to see what kind of game they follow up with.
I’ve also been on an independent horror kick. I saw through Steam that a game called Fears to Fathom: Ironbark Lookout got positive reviews. The trailer seemed interesting so I picked it up. In my opinion, it was quite mediocre. Tonally, the game was great, and it featured great atmosphere, but everything else was subpar. And the way the narrative unfolds seems to be directly ripped out of a “Let’s Not Meet” Reddit story. Nonetheless, I got the platinum and immediately uninstalled it.
I’ll also be chipping away at the Mafia Definitive Edition platinum. I’m playing on classic difficulty and currently on chapter 12/20. It’s been fantastic, but I strongly dislike the collectible system in the game. Technically, the game is considered “open world”, but you are never incentivized to explore your surroundings because the main story is structured very linearly. A lot of collectibles are story related and hard to miss, but some are inexplicably in obscure places that don’t make sense in its design, while subsequently having a “free roam” mode to have more hidden collectibles. I think it’s poorly designed and not implemented in a way that is logically sound.
I decided to take a punt on v rising and it's about all I've been playing all week. Really good game and not what I expected it to be..have a great weekend folks 👍
I’m on vacation for a good amount of days. So I will be on Metaphor: ReFantazio. Probably get on Lollipop Chainsaw and Sonic Generations.
@ErrantRob Hey there friend.
So far, I played NG2B in Path of the Acolyte (Normal) and Path of the Warrior (Hard).
It´s been a while since I played a NG game, but it was a bit to easy if I´m being honest.
I do plan on beating the game in both Path of the Mentor (Very Hard) and Path of the Master Ninja (Punishing).
And yes, you do need to actually "Get Gud" because, especially on Master Ninja were, when Bosses and regular enemies grab you, It´s game over.
You have to learn how to use Obliteration technique and Ultimate technique really well with the right weapons, for the right enemies and Bosses.
It´s VERY challenging, but kinda fun though.
Cheers
I shall push on with Avatar, it may be Far Cry on another planet, but it's a very nice place to be in, and good fun.
Baldur's Gate 3
Was able to play for about an hour yesterday after creating my character the day before. If PSN ever comes back up this weekend, I look forward to finally spending some decent time with the game as I attempt to get a hang of it. 2 years late, I join the party.
Not a lot by the looks of it.
Apparently nothing with an online element…
@Northern_munkey Good to know. I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while. I know it’s not that expensive but I like a good sale deal!
My Nintendo Switch since PSN is down 🥺
@Andywax I thought it was going to be a diablo type of game but it's more like the first legacy of kain game with resource gathering etc..I won't spoil it for you but put your life on hold because its compulsive as heck.
Am playing Bus Driver Simulator 25 Real Life edition from 7.30 to 1700 today then later if i dont fall asleep during match of the day maybe some sniper elite resistance and some under defeat (great shmup from dreamcast released on ps5 the other day)
More Metaphor on Steam Deck and Silent Hill on PS5. Both games are truly excellent!!
It’s my birthday today and my girlfriend got me Zelda: Echos of Wisdom on Switch so I might crack that open later to have a quick go.
Would like to get all of the above completed before Xenoxblade X!
Balancing Medievil 2 with The Plucky Squire
Enjoy the Pro @Darude84 I’ve found mine a much larger step up than the online discourse will suggest, especially frame rates. Currently playing RE2 remake at up to 120fps with VRR.
Most people are just salty at the price.
I finally got around to Tales of Arise which is the first game I haven’t dropped after a couple hours. It’s got just enough of story and gameplay to keep me invested. I’ll probably finish the main story but unlikely to purchase the DLC unless by the time I get to the end I feel like there’s more story to tell.
Was hoping to play the MH Wilds beta, but…hopefully still can. If not, hoping it’s back in time for the beta next weekend
I made this backlog month where I try and get through as many shorter games as possible. This week I played Sayonara Wild Hearts which is wonderfully unique, like psychedelic Space Harrier. I love this game, it’s only a couple of hours long but it slaps.
Rollerdrome is also great a brilliant mix of Tony Hawks Pro Skater with guns and the Running Man to make a new futuristic blood sport. It’s brilliant. RIP Roll7.
I also platinumed F.I.S.T. Forged in shadow torch which is a stunning metroidvania. I enjoyed the world, the visuals amd the puzzles but the combat was a bit off.
Now moving onto Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 remakes which all get healthy upgrades on the pro.
I’m still working my way through my 1st playthrough of Lords Of The Fallen. Really enjoying it! It has some great ideas, mechanics, art design and graphics. It’s not without its flaws but overall it’s quite a good Soulslike. Happy gaming everyone!
@Darude84
You find that it tends to be a 'minor upgrade' only to those who dont have one! (or a suitable TV). Though it does vary game on game obviously.
Have not read further in comments yet so no idea if this lot has been suggested:
Anything (PS5) from Sony really, the more recent the better, but HFW, SM2 show some really big upgrades and look amazing.
I love Hogwarts and its enhancement as they do a bit of everything (image, detail, LODs, fps) - but highly recommend the regular performance mode with uncapped fps as this seems the most improved (unless you like 30fps).
Stellar blade boosts image quality, and fps to 80 (capped at 60 on base console) - it is a really significant upgrade. If I remember right, you have to manually set the new mode, just dont bother with the other new mode for max resolution, as it isnt as good.
RE4 Remake (Village as well I think but have not personally tested) - the main upgrade is to fps which now goes to 90-100 fps as long as you enable the new uncapped fps mode. When you do this it also enables PSSR if I remember correctly.
Obviously FF7 Rebirth.
Im sure im forgetting some that I have tested, but that should hopefully get you started!
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
@Rich33 Thanks a lot! I actually have some of those games on disc, but the disc drive currently isn’t available for retail price, so I have to wait a bit longer. I’ll dive into PS Plus Extra until then.
@rusty82 can’t speak for the Switch version but on PS5 it runs fine so far, seems to be 60fps.
@Darude84
No problem, hope you manage to get that drive soon.
Ive no idea about what games are on Extra, but anything Sony (PS5 native) with the Pro Enhanced label should be a safe bet.
I'm playing the wonderful Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
There's many stories already as the gameplay is emergent. You get a quest, but the way it unfolds is decided by where you are (in the game). I am not a great warrior, but Henry was, so even though your levels are rolled back Henry is an absolute unit. After one single sparring I got my confidence back, encountered some folks who were a bit judgmental, I called them out and they chose violence.... and I survived a 1v5 fight leaving everyone stone cold in my wake (humble brag). The thing is - the game rarely saves, so I chose to keep this happening as a part of my first playthrough.
I am absolutely loving it, and I don't regret paying an obscene amount of money for the version with dlc included. And I don't think people who think they can get it for 7 dollars if they wait half a year are going to be happy when they find out that games like KCD II or BG3 are less likely to be heavily discounted.
@Nightcrawler71 Cheers. That's what I was hoping to hear
Finally platinumed Final Fantasy XV last weekend, so that's off my plate. I was gonna check out the Monster Hunter Wilds beta but since PSN is down, I'll go back to my modded Final Fantasy XIII playthrough on Steam...
Doom Eternal while I bide my time waiting for Avowed
With PSN down, it's definitely an Xbox weekend! Indy and I've restarted Forza Horizon 4.
Whatever you are playing this weekend, have fun!
Steam Deck ~ Just finished Zelda Wind Waker Hd.
Switching between Ni No Kuni 2 and Darkest Dungeon 2 (complex and difficult game, still learning about the mechanics)
PS5 ~ Im going to create my monster hunter wild character then stop and waiting for the full game soon. So excited to play with my teammates all around the world again 😆
@Keyblade-Dan love Nioh man! Such a great franchise
@Mikey856 It really is, it's some of Team Ninja's best work and that's saying a lot ^__^
@Keyblade-Dan I was utterly absorbed by Nioh when it released and 2 is just as good imo. Worthy of the souls like moniker. I thought the ki mechanic added a brilliant extra challenge
@Mikey856 Whilst I utterly adore them both I enjoy Nioh 2 just that little bit more I love William a lot but I really like having a custom character in the sequel ^__^
Bad question to ask PS users. I've got a ton of new stuff but am working on a 3rd playthrough of Black Myth Wukong. I am just in awe of this game. Need to dig deeper into Kingdom Come 2 which is amazing but I'm so hooked killing yaguais.
Started Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 today.
I'm 3 hours in and having a good time. Even managed to finally win the first dice game 🎲🎲 That is 6-7 tries and 1 tutorial video later, 'cause the game's tutorial on the activity is so simplified that it's useless...
Combat is a quite finicky exactly as stated by reviews, but you get better at it with practice. I feel it is, however, overly complicated for no real reason other than to be different from other games...
Anyway, overall, so far, the game makes me wanna keep playing, and that's one of the main traits a very good title has.
Have a fun weekend everyone!
Microsoft Wordament (Android) - Dailies and Adventure mode as usual.
Halo: Spartan Assault (Windows Phone) - This game has been great so far! Halo makes for a great twin stick shooter!
Microsoft Minesweeper (Windows Phone) - Haven't played in almost a week, time to get back into it.
Today I was able to play the Monster Hunter Wilds beta on both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 Pro. I was a bit surprised by how much better the PS5 version looks on the same settings. The PS5 Pro enhanced version isn’t out until launch from what I understand, so it could get even better.
Mostly the brilliant Banishers Ghost of Eden.
I'm forgot to add Contra: Shattered Soldiers PS2 classic on PS3. I replayed it again this morning and man this game is still kicking my ass.
Probably the most challenging Contra i ever played and the hardest one to finish especially for the best ending requires you to get 95-100% hit rate in every mission with no death or continue. Which means you need to play perfect to get A or S rank to unlocked mission 6 and 7. I never get the best ending although i think i managed to reached mission 7 and i died against the final boss which was batsh*t insane.
I just ordered a Retroid Pocket 5, and am really hoping it gets here soon. I just want to play Streets of Rage Remake and Brutal Doom on the go.
...and emulate lots of expensive stuff.
I'm playing Turbo Overkill.
Kingdom come deliverance 2. Loving it so far, although losing over an hours progress last night was pretty annoying. I need to remember to save more often!
@Ravix Is that the one where you have to get the lute?
I buzz off innkeeper Betty and her sudden voice change into a Jamaican. 😄
Since last week I´ve mainly been playing
Life is Strange Double Exposure - I've managed to find the time to finish and platinum the game. Its a really good game imo, but I dont think its as good as the first Life is Strange or Before the Storm. Its more of a Hollywood story with a happy ending, which isnt bad in itself but the darker story and impact of the choices (especially the last one) in LiS felt more significant and emotional and theres no moment like that in Double Exposure which makes it a bit less good imo. Its also a new story with new powers but they still chose to go with Max as the lead character, which isnt necessary at all imo. The game is good enough to stand on its own. This all makes it sounds as I didnt enjoy the game but I really, really did and I look forward to more LiS in the future. Also looking forward to Lost Records 🙂
Sniper Elite Resistance - Playing in short bursts, still enjoying it!
Far Cry New Dawn - Had to try the 60 fps upgrade on the Series S, which is great and sort of made me want to play the game again. Hopefully I´ll get to play some co-op with my son but he and his friends have discovered how fun the Far Cry games are in co-op after finishing both 5 and 6 so I might not get the chance...
Will continue playing Dark Souls 3 - 2 lords of cinder boss fights ahead, probably will be stuck on them some time.
With kids will be checking some levels in Astrobot, downloaded Pac-man from plus for them to try.
On NSW lite checked demo for latest Donkey Kong game, it's fun so I'll buy it for kids any time soon I guess.
Have an excellent weekend ya'll!
Since recently beating Nine Sols, and still suffering from the PTSD that came from several weeks vs Eigong (final boss) - I’m currently playing 2 puzzle games concurrently:
1) Loco-Motive: a Lucasarts-inspired P&C adventure game, gorgeously crafted with solid voice acting and strong gameplay. A little on the easy side, and doesn’t quite capture the same magic as recent genre peers (Return to MI, Thimbleweed Park, Lucy Dreaming etc) - but a nice chilled enjoyable time.
2) Rise of the Golden Idol: never played the predecessor, but this game is top tier. Sort of a detective-style mystery puzzler - in which you fill in the gaps of various crimes by deducing elements of crime scenes. A high recommend, best puzzler I’ve played since Lorelei & the Laser Eyes
@ApostateMage nah, they are just some drunk fools, but I am also going to be getting the lute today, as a matter of fact.
The ones you really need to go drinking with are the coooomans after the minor scuffle at gerodiemaica's inn. (Actualy realised, as well as having a wildly all over the place accent as a quest tipster, she has maybe 2 other VA's with completely different voices for some of her other lines haha)
This game though, it is superb. I've put in some longer sessions now and I'm still just wandering round the first areas, slowly extending the map and not pushing too far ahead. Still pre-wedding, as there's so much fun to be had 😅 I'm going to be accidentally massively OP, while some people min/max and grind, my role-playing has me getting pretty strong, without having much groschen yet so I still have to scrape by and make decisions whether to buy something or wait until some fool tries to rob me while wearing some gear I'd quite like to take. It's so pleasing making incremental upgrades to gear and not have 10,000 groschen to fall back on.
Anyway, it's off to look at the prize bull I painted graffiti of sigismund merged with a c*ck and balls onto 😂😂
@Ravix Oooh yeah, I did that one. I actually tried to play peacekeeper and felt dirty about it. I know where those coooomans are camped though.
That last sentence is so KCD. Love it.
Still playing PowerWash Simulator, still too many podcast episodes in my backlog. Once I'm tired of it I'll play Rebirth and ZZZ.
Still chugging along in RDR2, but I managed to get almost every trophy except one in Horizon Adventures. This game should have been a $40 game. The level design is so limited and repetitive. You just run through until you reach a fighting arena, rinse and repeat. I guess this would be fine for younger gamers but compared to regular Lego games this is feature-less and gets boring. Also tried out Achilles Untold Legends and love what I played. Feels like a PS2 era action game with light souls like elements.
@ApostateMage best go and visit them then for a drink and a chat 🫡
I got my reward for grabbing the Lute and... other services... just now, and once again I can say with all confidence, Warhorse reward the player for sticking with even the most minor of quests 😂😂
There will be players that just fly through the game not even realising comedy, drama, philosophy, and utter silly sh*t is hidden in every single quest.
I was not expecting that... and the very thing that has been my forum signature on PushSquare since the reveal trailer 😁
Well here we go with another cool WAYP. The week was some good fun games all around. Mostly Trails Through Daybreak, Emio and Metaphor with some Mario and Luigi and WWE2K24. Didn’t beat Metaphor or Emio but hey man sometimes work gets in the way. Gonna try again this week at least with Metaphor. Did start Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Dynasty Warriors Origins. DK is a charming platformer with excellent level design while Dynasty Warriors is just addicting with its combat. Most of the weekend was spent with the Monster Hunter Wilds Beta. Gotta say it is pretty good like the combat has genuinely improved in a way that I was just downright blown away by. Can’t wait for that game at the end of the month. The monsters look so cool too. Other than the Super Bowl this weekend I’m thinking the rest of this weekend I’m thinking is gonna be some Fantasian Neo Dimension. That game is genuinely charming and has such a cute artstyle and has some great characters and story. Otherwise I’m thinking this week is mostly gonna consist of some Trails Through Daybreak, Emio, Dawntrail, Metaphor, YS, Mario and Luigi Brothership, Super Mario Party Jamboree, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and WWE 2K24. Also gonna try to preorder Clair Obscura: Expedition 33 and DOOM The Dark Ages too for real this time. The wrestling thing this week being the lead up to WWE Elimination Chamber. The Women’s and Men’s Chamber matches are already filling up with hit stars amd I’m excited for more Qualifying matches and other things on the card. Anime of the week gotta go to Dragon Ball Daima and Shangri La Frontier and Solo Leveling and Okitsura and Sakamoto Days and 100 Girlfriends. They all continue to be absolute bangers with Sakamoto Days as the clear stand out by far. Podcasts of this week gotta go to Castle Superbeast, Big Think Dimension, Into The Aether, RPGsites Tetracast, Minnmax, Jeff Gerstmann, Kit and Krysta, Last Stand Media, Easy Allies, Second Wind, Nextlander, Cultaholic Wrestling, Weapon Wheel Podcast and Remap Radio. As always yall stay safe, be awesome to each other. Have a totally awesome weekend and of course Happy Gaming.
